Is there any chance at all for Despacito to go back to #1? I don't see Look drop hard in the next few weeks so I'm 99% sure Despacito won't return to #1.

Glad 1-800 leaps to the top 10 ;) Congrats Ms. Swift, the female solo #1 drought is over!

Ugh, two of these new Top 10 entries (LWYMMD and 1-800-273-8255, to be specific) really suck. really? The suicide hotline song sucks? Bye.

Haven't been on this board much in the past couple of years.. on average (and I know it varies and it's not exact) how many points does a song need to enter the Hot 100 nowadays?

It really sucks that TWIL got 28 weeks in the top ten while Versace will get 0, which IMO is a much better song.
Good for Alessia too at getting her fourth top ten. It's really nice to see her succeed rather than a lot of these other girls with hyper-sexualized, plastic body images.

Also, I just find Logic's performance here to be pretty awful. I'm not denying that he has experienced the feeling of being suicidal, but I just don't think he conveys such feelings in a convincing way. If you gave the entire song to Khalid (who has the best part of the song because he can actually convey those emotions well), this would've been 10 times better, though that still wouldn't necessarily fix the fact that it's such a surface-level exploration on the topic of suicide. I mean, Logic certainly has good intentions and the song has certainly helped plenty of people who have experienced suicidal thoughts, but I just feel the song itself isn't very good.

Swish Swish is #47 on the Hot 100? Did I hear that right? I guess the music video did do some good for her then?

Chart Watch: Look what you made Taylor do!Paul Grein Writer Yahoo Music September 5, 2017 Taylor Swift‘s “Look What You Made Me Do” vaults from No. 77 to No. 1 in its second week on Billboard’s Hot 100. That’s the biggest leap to No. 1 since “Crack a Bottle” by Eminem, Dr. Dre, and 50 Cent vaulted from No. 78 to No. 1 on Feb. 21, 2009. “Look What You Made Me Do” is the lead single from Swift’s upcoming sixth studio album, reputation. The lead singles from her two most recent studio albums were also out-of-the-box No. 1 hits. “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” the lead single from Red, vaulted from No. 72 to No. 1 in its second week in August 2012. “Shake It Off,” the lead single from 1989, debuted at No. 1 in September 2014. This is Swift’s fifth No. 1 hit. She also topped the chart with “Blank Space” and “Bad Blood” (featuring Kendrick Lamar). Only four other artists have amassed five or more No. 1 hits so far in this decade. Rihanna leads the pack with nine, followed by Katy Perry with eight and Bruno Mars with seven. Justin Bieber is tied with Swift with five leaders so far in this decade. “Look What You Made Me Do” set new weekly records for the greatest sales and streams of any song in 2017. The old records were held by Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” and Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” (featuring Bieber), respectively. Swift’s smash sold 353K digital copies in the U.S. this week. That’s the greatest weekly tally since Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” sold 379K in its first week in May 2016. “Look What You Made Me Do” enters Top Digital Songs at No. 1. It’s Swift’s 12th No. 1 digital hit. Only one artist has had more No. 1 digital hits in the history of the chart (which dates to October 2004). Rihanna leads with 14. Swift first topped the digital chart in February 2010 with “Today Was a Fairytale,” a dewy song from Garry Marshall’s rom-com, Valentine’s Day. (Play it back-to-back with the chilly, score-settling “Look What You Made Me Do” and it sounds like two different artists.) Swift’s song amassed more than 84.4 million U.S. streams in the tracking week. Only one song has posted a greater weekly sum: Baauer’s “Harlem Shake,” which peaked with 103 million streams. Swift sets a new record for the all-time top weekly streaming sum for a song by a woman. The old record was held by Adele’s “Hello,” which posted 61.6 million streams in its first week in November 2015. “Look What You Made Me Do” enters the Official U.K. Singles Chart at No. 1. It’s Swift’s first No. 1 hit in the U.K. She had previously climbed as high as No. 2 with three hits—”Love Story,” “I Knew You Were Trouble.” and “Shake It Off.” “Look What You Made Me Do” is the first song by a female solo artist (who wasn’t part of a collabo) to reach No. 1 in both the U.S. and the U.K. since Adele’s “Hello.” The song’s success has boosted Swift’s most recent studio album, 1989, which vaults from No. 64 to No. 38 in its 142nd chart week on The Billboard 200. The album has sold 6,068,000 copies in traditional album sales. The album jumps to No. 1 on Top Catalog Albums, displacing Eminem’s Curtain Call: The Hits. This marks the first time that Swift has topped the catalog chart since her EP Sounds of the Season: The Taylor Swift Holiday Collection, was on top for four weeks in 2010-11. Top SongsLiam Payne becomes the third past or present member of One Direction to land a top 10 hit on the Hot 100, as “Strip That Down” (featuring Quavo) jumps from No. 11 to No. 10 in its 15th week. He follows Zayn, who has cracked the top 10 with two solo hits, and Harry Styles, who scored with “Sign of the Times” (No. 4 earlier this year). One Direction joins a very select list of groups where three or more members have landed top 10 hits of their own. The others are the Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, and New Edition. It’s interesting that boy bands account for two of the four groups that have done this. The five members of New Edition ranged in age from 15 to 17 in December 1984 when “Cool It Now” became their first top 10 hit. The five members of One Direction ranged in age from 18 to 20 in April 2012 when “What Makes You Beautiful” became their first top 10 hit. Another member of One Direction may soon join Payne in the top 10. Niall Horan is in the top 15 with “Slow Hands.” “Strip That Down” is Quavo’s fourth top 10 hit as a solo artist. In addition, he reached No. 1 as a member of Migos. Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” (featuring Bieber) dips from No. 1 to No. 2 in its 33rd week, one week after it tied the Mariah Carey/Boyz II Men smash “One Sweet Day” for the longest run at No. 1 in Hot 100 history (16 weeks). That’s a gentler drop than “One Sweet Day” experienced in March 1996. That smash tumbled from No. 1 to No. 5. Cardi B ‘s “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” holds at its No. 3 peak in its ninth week. It moves up to No. 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. DJ Khaled’s “Wild Thoughts” (featuring Rihanna & Bryson Tiller) drops from its No. 2 peak to No. 4 in its 11th week. The song spent seven weeks at No. 2, the most for a No. 2 hit since Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” spent eight weeks at No. 2 in 2015. Charlie Puth’s “Attention” holds at its No. 5 peak in its 19th week. Imagine Dragons’ “Believer” drops from its No. 4 peak to No. 6 in its 30th week. French Montana’s “Unforgettable” (featuring Swae Lee) dips from No. 6 to No. 7 in its 21st week. The song peaked at No. 3. Shawn Mendes’s “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” dips from No. 7 to No. 8 in its 19th week. The song peaked at No. 6. Logic lands his first top 10 hit as “1-800-273-8255” (featuring Alessia Cara and Khalid) leaps from No. 29 to No. 9 in its 18th week. The song’s title is the phone number of the National Suicide Prevention Hotline. The artists’ performance of the song was the emotional highlight of the VMAs. This is Cara’s fourth top 10 hit; Khalid’s first. Two former No. 1 hits, Bruno Mars’s “That’s What I Like” and Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You,” drop out of the top 10 this week. Also, Yo Gotti’s “Rake It Up” (featuring Nicki Minaj) drops out of the top 10 after hitting No. 10 last week. Sam Hunt’s “Body Like A Back Road” tops Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart for a record-extending 30th week. Julia Michaels’ “Issues” tops the 1 million mark in digital sales this week. The song peaked at No. 11.

I can already tell that the majority of the debuts this week will be utter fucking chaos, and I blame Kodak, XXXTENTACION, and Lil Uzi for releasing a bunch of new albums this week. If that is true that we have new arrivals from those three, no way will I be able to cover the entrants, because I very much want to keep any sanity I have left, thank you very much.

So over 100k points for Taylor in 1 week. Could it possibly make it onto the YE as early as next week? That would be pretty crazy, though the 2nd week drop will be harsh.

The new Top 10 arrivals are pretty awful this week. Let's hope "Bodak Yellow" can eventually hit #1. The irony of this statement lol.

Very conflicting week -
Pros: Despacito not number 1, Logic reaches top 10 (with his worst single to date though), Shape of You is gone, Rake it Up is gone, BODY LIKE A BACKROAD IS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONE :) Cons: That number 1 happens to be fucking worse than Despacito, the Liam Payne trashy frat song is top 10, still no Redbone :( and at this point it's got no chance

That would be pretty crazy, though the 2nd week drop will be harsh. simmnfierzig from ATRL has the song at a bit over 700k for next week based on early numbers. Using georgetherunner314 prediction from last year, that'd place it within the top 90 of the YE, although I'd expect this year's to be even weaker. So, yes it would.

Good for Alessia too at getting her fourth top ten. It's really nice to see her succeed rather than a lot of these other girls with hyper-sexualized, plastic body images. This post seems kinda problematic. While I do think that there should be more diversity in body image in media, we shouldn't shame those who have "hypersexualized, plastic" body images. Maybe that's not what you were trying to do, and if it isn't, you probably should've worded your post better. I can already tell that the majority of the debuts this week will be utter f**king chaos, and I blame Kodak, XXXTENTACION, and Lil Uzi for releasing a bunch of new albums this week. If that is true that we have new arrivals from those three, no way will I be able to cover the entrants, because I very much want to keep any sanity I have left, thank you very much. Kodak didn't release an album/mixtape that would've affected the Hot 100 this week. That was last week.

Logic lacks anything even close to resembling subtlety, which is usually something that aids a song with as serious of a topic as this one. Logic's lyrics and delivery strike me as something that could just as easily have been written by somebody whose most intimate experience with suicidal thoughts was reading a brochure on them.
That said, the song isn't really bad. It's just a little flawed in that respect.

Wait. LWYMMD sold 353k? Didn't it sell 200k only on the first day and was predicted to sell 500k until the end of the week? Was that a harsh drop or were first day reports fake?

Between late charts and missing debut and returning entry icons, Billboard really needs to get their shit together.

Between late charts and missing debut and returning entry icons, Billboard really needs to get their s**t together. Luckily we have Gary who actually posted the full Hot 100 here: pulsemusic.proboards.com/thread/170189/billboard-hot-100-23-2017?page=2&scrollTo=6261819Unfortunately, we also don't know what the streaming, airplay, and sales gainers were, though I'd say I could easily guess that right now what they are. Streaming: XO TOUR Llif3 Sales: 1-800... Airplay: LWYMMD

No I'm not trying to shame them or am necessarily against them, I just agree with your point that it would be nice if there were more diversity, because there is an overwhelming bias that you most likely have to look like that in order to be famous in the pop music world.

I just realised how smart Uzi was with XO Tour Life lol. This week it went from 25-16 because of - *new album dropping *song of the summer at VMAs *VMA performance with Ed Sheeran
and next week the video will effect it's position. if the video blows up it could get a second wind at the top 10. uzi=genius (not lyrically lol)
