#11: This 2017 French flop failed to fly as high as the artist's past singles and couldn't rise up from the flames.

#12 & #13: The 2nd set of songs from a rapper. These songs are from a big hip hop record from this year. #12 was a big hit, certified triple platinum. #13 charted as a promotional single.

#14 & #15: Two songs from the same artist. Saw this artist perform these live at Bonnaroo, before these songs were officially released. #14 takes us to a French locale while #15 has co-writer Tove Lo bringing Swedish flair to the mix.

#16: Not a radio song. Heard this in one of the tv spots for John Wick 2. The title is derived from a popular Japanese movie about teenagers killing each other.

#17-#20: These 4 songs are from one of the most polarizing artists of the year, and also one of my favorites. #17 is 16 off from its real number. #18 is the second song in this rankdown about banging head against wall. #19 shares its name with a Tyler the Creator song, also released this year. #20 features an actress who recently performed in the latest Fargo season.

#21: Artist I saw at Bonnaroo. Album track off of their debut album 3 years ago. This song is "weird".

#23: Debut single off of this artist's latest album. Has struggled on the Alt chart since its release.

#24: Same artist as above. Maybe if this song had been the lead single the album wouldn't have performed so poorly on Billboard. Open up.

#27: Ever since the 2011 Alt rankdown, I've been listening to this song a bunch even though I already knew it. Should've went top 10 on the rankdown, but constantly overshadowed by the artist's other single.

#28: The lone Pop song on this rankdown, though the artist has charted on Alt before. Got into this song through another rankdown.

#29: Probably the least known of the songs in the rankdown, this is the opening track off of this Korean cultural foodie woman's latest album.

#30: This is the newest song in the rankdown, another opening track born from the desert and hoping for successful appendages.

yeah I knew that (though maybe significant is a bit much, I think an equal amount of their "hardcore fans" felt sold out by Evil Friends and I don't hear much negativity surrounding that album these days) Just didn't see much hate here outside of a few people sick of "Feel It Still".  

imo though if they want to do one poppy "sellout" album (which still has a bunch of solid cuts) to get some mainstream success they definitely deserve it after pumping out 10+ years of quality material.
