I had no idea "I Told You So" was well-liked. I thought it was pretty forgotten, lol.

I had no idea "I Told You So" was well-liked. I thought it was pretty forgotten, lol. It's one of those songs that just ages so well and the production sounds so great and the overall energy is great to it as well. It to me is like a fine wine of songs, it just gets better with age.

"I Told You So" is awesome, but I agree that it I thought it would have been out by now. It seems like one of his more forgotten singles to me too. So I'm thrilled it made the top 10, but I am also fine with seeing it leave at #7 I probably underranked it, tbh, but that is so hard to avoid with such a strong group of songs! "'Til Summer Comes Around" - I honestly have zero recollection of this song... Everybody always talks about it like it is the best song of all time, and the Golden Period for Keith's single releases, but I somehow completely missed this song being a single... I guess I must have completely ignored country radio between 2009 and 2010, because after "Kiss A Girl" I literally do not remember hearing a Keith song on the radio until "Without You"! That being said, "'Til Summer" is a pretty good song, but I do not like it as much as its hype would lead me to believe that I should. I loved it enough to put it just outside my top 10, which is pretty incredible for such a strong rankdown, but I am also 100% fine with it leaving now.

zaclord ๐ I love "Til Summer Comes Around" what in the hell did I say to you in that PM that made you think I'd hate this style of song?!?! Since you don't like songs with no melody. Seriously, this song is SO boring. I have tried and tried and tried to like it since everyone else seems to love it so much, but its just a terrible song. Boring melody and the lyrics leave SO much to be desired. Seriously, there are so many better 'summer fling' songs and this one leaves me so apathetic toward the narrator's feelings because just isn't convincing whatsoever. I will say that Keith does sound awesome here so I do wish the melody and lyrics were better so I could enjoy it. I probably wouldn't hate this song so much if, like bboat11 said, everyone didn't treat this like the crown jewel in Keith's catalog and the best thing he's ever done because its FAR from it. Anyway... SUPER glad this didn't win. Pretty sure "You'll Think of Me" or "Stupid Boy" will be victorious here now

Loved the atmosphere that hits with Til Summer Comes Around. Itโs the most recognizable guitar lick of Keithโs imo. Also, the tried and true theme that worked for LB with Roller Coaster and here for KU, the summer beach town loves that fade away, almost everyoneโs got one and it resonates. Actually, I realize just how similar those songs are (extended roller coaster metaphors).
Summer is a song that brings such a vibe and mood to me when I listen to it. Immediately. I hear the opening guitar riff and I go there in my mind, the music video also just adds to the song.

Wow, "Til Summer Comes Around" is incredible...I'm not sure if we can be friends anymore zaclord ๐ ! Honestly, TSCA is my favorite song of all time. I find it to be incredibly well-written, with such a haunting sound and a gorgeous arrangement. The music video gives me chills. As for "I Told You So"...I've always known that this song was well revered by KU fans, especially on Pulse. I've always loved Keith's overall sound, but there's something about the production of ITYS that's just extra awesome. It seems to me that a lot of diehard Keith fans (both on Pulse and on other forums/in Keith's fan club) feel that Love, Pain, & the Whole Crazy Thing is perhaps Keith's best album (along with Be Here) and I feel that both "Stupid Boy" and "I Told You So" were the crown jewels on Love, Pain, & the Whole Crazy Thing. I know a lot of Keith fans were pretty upset when Love, Pain, & the Whole Crazy Thing wasn't as successful for him as Be Here and Golden Road were. I'm going on a bit of a tangent here, but oh well. Keith was white hot entering the Love, Pain, & the Whole Crazy Thing era. The lead single "Once In A Lifetime" debuted at #17 on Billboard, which at the time was the highest debut ever (and this was before the crazy hourly airplay deals we see today, which makes a top 20 debut back then especially impressive), but then during that song's chart run Keith entered rehab, and the song stalled at #6. So it ended up being his highest-debuting single, but became his lowest-peaking single since his debut "It's A Love Thing". "Stupid Boy" was the album's 2nd single and it made it to #3 and third single "I Told You So" got to #2, but Keith's personal struggles seemed to cool off his momentum a bit, as Love, Pain, & the Whole Crazy Thing is Keith's only album to not produce a #1 hit, which is a shame because I think it's my favorite album of his. Keith's self-titled 1999 album produced only one #1 hit, but all his other albums produced multiple #1s: Golden Road produced three #1's and a #3, Be Here produced three #1s and two #2s, Defying Gravity produced two #1s, a #2, and two #3s, Get Closer produced three #1s and a #2, Fuse produced four #1s and a #8 ("Cop Car" peaking at #8 still seems like such an anomaly to me; it's not a favorite of mine, but I'm shocked it missed the top 5) and then Ripcord produced three #1s and two #2s (both #2 hits, "John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16" and "The Fighter" went #1 on Mediabase, however). Back to "Til Summer Comes Around"...I just think it's such a powerful ballad and I think a lot of people feel the same way. It was the last song to win Keith a Grammy, too, so it seems to not only be pretty well revered by his fans, but by the industry as well. Keith's other Grammy-winning songs are "Sweet Thing", "Stupid Boy", and "You'll Think Of Me". The only Grammy win of his that I'm surprised about is "Sweet Thing". I like that one well enough but I don't think it's near as strong as "Til Summer Comes Around", "Stupid Boy", and "You'll Think Of Me", which are all completely flawless to me. It seems most KU fans would agree with that assessment, since "Sweet Thing" was knocked out of our rankdown a while ago, whereas TSCA came in at #6 and "Stupid Boy" and "You'll Think Of Me" are obviously in the remaining five.

The song is beautiful and the melancholy sound compliments the lyrics very well, and I have to say I think the lyrics are pretty good to begin with. I'm pretty sure this song would have been in my top 5 somewhere; but if not that, definitely top 10.

There may be hope for you yet LBTrocks. Anyways, forgot to post the top five last night; got distracted by too many things. Somebody Like You You'll Think of Me Days Go By Better Life Stupid Boy All but one of these is somebody's #1; so these next eliminations shouldn't be too severe.

Legit surprised by "Days Go By" still being in and reaching the Top 5. The other 4 make total sense though.
