Liking this but what's the point in releasing this now to steal LWYMD's thunder
Will this era be over before the album release, just like Witness lol

I never knew how badly I needed to hear her rap until I heard this song.
I wish I could have witnessed the writing and recording process of this song.

This is solid. Nothing spectacular. Hopefully nothing she wants to push to radio.

Is this on any radio deals? but the video uploaded on her personal channel, looks like it will not be heavy promoted like LWYMMD did. Really like this by far than the lead.

She raps better than Beyoncé. Taylor came, delivered and conquered. #popkhaleesi What was the reasoning in bringing up Beyoncé? because it's tea? She really wants to be a POC queen this era but I'm not feeling it as much as LWYMMD.

It's... okay? Parts of the song really drown out her voice.

I listened to this twice and didn't hear a rap 🤔 Yeah, I'm not sure where people are getting that from. I guess the verses, but that's not rap. That's just fast sing-talking. Like something Ke$ha would have done on Animal or Warrior.

I'm ready for it to debut at #1 and replace LWYMMD. Swift is a monster.

I like this better than the Look, but I don't love it yet. It feels like it will grow on me though.
The talky verses are kind of an odd fit but it's still cool.

Like this song
Very fitting for the 1st track on the album. I really like the way she is reinventing herself, but the production on this song is a little weird for me. I love the 3rd chorus so much ahhh.
I'm really confused as to why she released it now...LYWMMD isn't failing or anything. Maybe for chart success or something...idk.
Really excited for the album!!! :))

It would be amazing if this could replace LWYMMD next week. I doubt it with it already missing a day and a half of sales.
Maybe she can occupy the Top 2 spots? That would be the first for a female artist since We Belong Together and Shake It Off, right?

Yeah, a #1 position isn't happening. LWYMMD's sales will likely be below it, but it was have a massive upper hand in streaming and airplay.
But, a #2 isn't out of the question. That depends on the streaming and what the hell is going on with its airplay. Will whatever it has in those two components be enough to outdo "Despacito" and "Bodak Yellow"? We'll see. I do think everything should be strong enough for her to at least have two top 5 placements next week, which would still be incredible.

I mean, it's better than the first one. It still lacks in a chorus though.

It sounds really disjointed and messy. The sound is also very generic to me and her voice doesn't do much things for me in the verses. The more breezy parts are okay but not enough to save the song for me

I must admit, I am very surprised by the warm welcome this has been getting on here. Still not really feeling this outside of the pre chorus

This is basically a cross with 1989 and (what we know of) reputation. The chorus is very pop and Taylor-esque, reminds me a lot of Wildest Dreams. The verses and the beat, especially the drop, fit the theme of this album a lot though! Overall great album opener, crossing her previous album with this one for the opener was a great idea.
Also, is she pushing this on the radio? Because I'm feeling like this is being heavily promoted.

The chorus' lyrics, melody, and production are absolutely gorgeous. It really makes you feel like you're being carried by an island wave. Superior to plenty of stuff on 1989.

Also, is she pushing this on the radio? Because I'm feeling like this is being heavily promoted.iHeart posted an article last night (see page one of the thread) that said it would be played "starting at 8AM ET" this morning. While they didn't say it explicitly, that kind of wording from iHeart would usually suggest airplay every hour/every other hour. Or at least a concurrent "premiere" across all the iHeart stations. They deleted that article early this morning. And while the song did receive some airplay today, it didn't start at 8AM ET (at least not nationally), and it hasn't been close to every hour or anything like that. Either way, the iHeartRadio post was clear that it's not (yet) an official radio single. It's not as if they were looking to immediately drop LWYMMD.
