This is without reading anyone else's answers
1. What do you think will be the winner? "I'm Alright" 2. What do you think will come in last place (#32)? "Biker Chick" 3. What songs do you think will be likely to be in the bottom 5/top 5? "Biker Chick", "A Woman's Rant", "Here", "That's God", "Noel" 4. What album era (of the five studio albums**) do you think will have all its songs eliminated first? "Me" 5. What do you expect will be the first official country radio single to be eliminated? "Biker Chick" 6. How far do you think Jo Dee's newest song, "Here," will go? top 30 7. Do you think your #1 has a chance at winning? Definitely 8. Any other thoughts/predictions? The I'm Alright album will dominate the top 10, possibly going for all 5 singles making the top 10 ("Heads Carolina" will also be very high, as will probably "Give A Damn")

Evidently this song's title turned out to be false as y'all collectively shattered this one by dropping it straight to the bottom of the rankdown! Only one participant put "Unbreakable" in their Top 20, so this will be be a sad first reveal for bboat11, but the rest of us lose something from our bottom half, and most of us from our bottom 3 at that. With four last-place ranks, only one other song was able to receive more #32s than this.

I hadn't heard "Unbreakable" until this rankdown and I thought it was really bland. That Alyssa chick doesn't have a good voice at all.

^ Bingo! Christmas tunes never seem to do particularly well in most of these, and that seems to be no exception for Jo Dee Messina as she's already down 1/2 of her holiday songs. Like our first reveal, we lose a single Top 20 ranking (ironically another #16 placement as well), but a whole slew of bottom 5s. This one didn't seem to bring too much joy to Pulse posters.

how is "Biker Chick" not bottom 2. I actually liked what "Unbreakable" was though I agree the other vocalist isn't good but Jo Dee sounded great on it.
As for "A Joyful Noise" I ended up ranking both Christmas songs from her low only because I love the other songs too much to rank them lower than the Christmas ones but I do like both songs. Unfortunately for some reason Jo Dee's Christmas album and songs have never stuck with me and I rarely actually listen to them. Am going to try and change that this year though!

Now that we've cleared our Bottom 2 on the official rankdown, before we dig into the remaining 30, I'm gonna go ahead an reveal the first of our Top 10 Jo Dee Messina album cuts! Our first deep track to make the cut-off for the overall Top 10 comes to us from the first of Jo Dee Messina's Unmistakable EP trilogy. "I Think About Us" is an emotional snapshot of a woman going through the motions of a life without her other half (and while it's just lyrically ambiguous enough to not explicitly mention death, I'm pretty sure that's what the protagonist is hinting at), and being constantly reminded of what could've been if the two were still together. Three posters slid this one comfortably into the mid-section of their album cuts list. 10. "I Think About Us" - Jo Dee Messina
"Now you're gone it's understood God knows I'd change it if I could When I think about love, I just think about us"
Total Points: 16

I wish her trilogy had all been available physically. I never bought the digital only songs.

Color me shocked at the amount of dislike for "Unbreakable". It was a first-time listen for me, which got it up to #16 on my list, but it has continued to grow on me since then. I absolutely love everything about it! Jo Dee and Alyssa both sound great, and their voices work well together. I love the way they harmonize on "harmony" in the chorus. How meta is that moment? Anyway, I could see the song being too polished and poppy for some, and I could see people not liking Alyssa's voice, but for me it all comes together and works well. The melody is very strong, and I love how Jo Dee sings the high melody in the first 2 choruses, and then switches to the lower harmonies in the 3rd chorus. It helped make the 3rd chorus seem slightly different from the first two.
"A Joyful Noise" is a very expected elimination at this point in the game. Not only is it a Christmas song, but it is not particularly memorable at that. Also, is it just me or is the production not very good on Jo Dee's Christmas album? I tried listening to some of it for this rankdown, and literally none of the songs stood out, which was shocking to me because Jo Dee's voice usually is enough to make anything stand out. One of the reasons I think Martina's Christmas album has remained a timeless classic is because the production has really stood the test of time, and still sounds fantastic today, whereas Jo Dee's sounds very dated to me.

Compared to the rest of her catalog, I was just not all that impressed by "Unbreakable." I feel like Alyssa is a better writer, and she delivered when it came to some of the songs on Jo Dee's ME album in 2014. "Joyful Noise" is a good song, but in the overall picture...it's a holiday song, one I don't think deserves to be higher than the hits. I'm happy with the placement.
"I Think About Us" is my favorite track off the Unmistakable: Love EP! It's just got a spark to it that only Jo Dee can give.

"Unbreakable" isn't horrible or anything but for me it doesn't have any real interest either. I always found Jo Dee's voice so interesting on it's own that it was hard to believe I could be so meh about it. (Although bboat's post about it makes me want to go listen to it again :) )
"A Joyful Noise" is a Christmas song, nothing about it stands out among the many many Christmas songs I don't like so to the bottom it goes.
"I Think About Us" is so great melodically and I love the lyrics. Her vocals are great on it too! I really wish she had released this while she was able to still get hits because I think it could've been a big hit for her.

It's great that Unbreakable end up in last place. This song just gets worse and worse with every listen. At first it kind of blended in with other songs but when i started to pay closer attention to lyrics it's just became unlistenable. Lyrics are just so generic with message that has been told too many times before. I like A Joyful Noise very much. It has nice melody and instrumentation. I also like lyrics - yes I know that they are generic and that message has been told too many times before but something in this song just clicked with me. And I get warm and calming feeling listening to it which is exactly how I want to feel when I'm listening to Christmas music. Great song that will become part of my holiday playlist.

Y'all clearly weren't in the holiday spirit when you made your lists, because Jo Dee loses both of her Xmas representations in the bottom 5. The fall of "Noel" takes down two Top 20 ranks this time instead of just one, but all but five posters stuck this one in their bottom 5, and collectively only gave this one a mere 2-point advantage over "A Joyful Noise."

"Noel" was pretty okay for a Christmas song, I doubt I'll listen to it in the future much but it's not bad at all.

Evidently the answer to the question posed in this song title was a resounding "No." The live acoustic release from the Blackbird didn't get a lot of love from most of the participants, except for the two of you had this one in the Top 20 (and #14 now becomes our highest rank lost from anyone's list).

I'd love to hear a studio version of this, but this is the highest of the songs that are just good not great. Pretty much everything higher than this for me is a song I love. With 3 ranked below this one I'm really starting to brace myself for when my loves are going to start falling. :o
Also congrats "Biker Chick" I never expected that to miss the bottom 4!

OMG! I will admit, I was not real familiar with this until this rank down. I absolutely LOVED it on first listen and I desperately want a studio version! Y'all suck.
Just watched this again. Holy crap! She kills this one! How can anyone rank this bottom 5!? Lol I'm guessing it is just because people aren't familiar with it.

After our four reveals, we are finally about to say goodbye to the first country radio single as we round out our bottom 5. The question is which one will it be?!

I hadn't heard Jo Dee's "Noel" before but I really liked it! I thought she sang the hell out of it.
"Will You Love Me (Live)" just wasn't at all good. I thought it was pretty tuneless.
"Biker Chick" has gotta be next... and I gotta be the highest ranking for it. Everyone seems disgusted and stunned that it's still in.
