Welcome to the official Montgomery Gentry singles rankdown! 

Okay! I am FINALLY going to do this. I started this thread way back in September after Troy Gentry's passing. I knew I wanted to do a singles rankdown for them, I just didn't know when. I honestly wasn't in a place with their music after Troy died where I felt I was ready to do this, but after seeing MG live in January I was brought back to my 'happy place' while listening to them, so I have actually been ready to do this since January lol but I just kept putting it off and now here we are. Anyway, I hope everyone still wants to do this and enjoys celebrating this wonderful duo with me. They were my favorites for so many years! Lots of great songs in this rankdown and I am excited to host this and experience it with everyone :-)

Troy Gentry's death just makes me sad all over. 50 is too young...and no one should have to go out that way. You're supposed to be really old and die of natural causes in your sleep.

I thought about doing one anyway, and unfortunately this solidified it. I love them so much!

I'm still in shock and disbelief over Troy's death; God only knows when it'll finally sink into my thicker-than-texas-toast head. I was gonna dig into MG's discography in the next few months anyways, so this'll give me more incentive to do so. I'll participate.
