One thing that's always bugged me with these Hot 100 threads is that they're usually made on Tuesday or Monday, when 3 or 4 days of sales and streams have passed and a lot of it ending up being discussed in the thread where it doesn't apply. Oh well, like they always say: be the change you want to see in the world!
Spotify (Day 1 of 7) (Will be cumulative) 1. [The Suicide Hotline song] / Logic feat. Alessia Cara & Khalid (1.559) 2. Too Good at Goodbyes / Sam Smith (1.423) 3. Bank Account / 21 Savage (1.262) 4. Look What You Made Me Do / Taylor Swift (1.225) 5. Bodak Yellow (Money Moves) / Cardi B. (1.211) 6. ...Ready for It? / Taylor Swift (1.168) 7. XO Tour Llif3 / Lil' Uzi Vert (1.127) 8. Jocelyn Flores / XXTENTACION (1.089) 9. Young, Dumb, & Broke / Khalid (1.007) 10. Unforgettable / French Montana feat. Swae Lee (0.970)
11. Silence / Marshmello feat. Khalid (0.930)
(This is really a good time for Khalid) (OK, not quite as good as I said when I had yesterday's data)
YouTube (Publishes data late, so not yet)
iTunes (Day 1 of 7) (Non-cumulative) 1. Too Good at Goodbyes / Sam Smith (Friday Release) 2. Look What You Made Me Do / Taylor Swift (.6143) 3. Found You / Kane Brown (.4882) (Friday Release) 4. ...Ready For It / Taylor Swift (.4290) 5. Dusk 'Till Dawn / ZAYN feat. Sia (.3776) (Wednesday Release) 6. Love So Soft / Kelly Clarkson (.3511) (Wednesday Release) 7. I'll Name the Dogs / Blake Shelton (.3208) (Friday Release) 8. [The Suicide Hotline Song] / Logic feat. Alessia Cara & Khalid (.3118) 9. Thunder / Imagine Dragons (.2782) 10. Despacito / Luis Fonsi (.2698)
All these new songs pushing Despacito to the brink; I wonder if they'll stick around and it'll get washed away by next release week?
iTunes Major Discount List [The Suicide Hotline Song] / Logic Cut to the Feeling / Carly Rae Jepsen Despacito / Luis Fonsi feat. Daddy Yankee DNA. / Kendrick Lamar do re mi / blackbear do re mi / blackbear feat. Gucci Mane Fetish / Selena Gomez feat. Gucci Mane Friends / Justin Bieber & BloodPop LOYALTY. / Kendrick Lamar feat. Rihanna Mama / Jonas Blue feat. William Singe Mi Gente / J. Balvin & Willy William New Rules / Dua Lipa Redbone / Childish Gambino Slow Hands / Niall Horan Sorry Not Sorry / Demi Lovato Strip That Down / Liam Payne feat. Quavo Thunder / Imagine Dragons Versace on the Floor / Bruno Mars Walk on Water / Thirty Seconds to Mars Whatever it Takes / Imagine Dragons Wish I Knew You / The Revivalists
Off Discount This Week Attention / Charlie Puth Believer / Imagine Dragons Despacito / Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee feat. Justin Bieber HUMBLE. / Kendrick Lamar

No one should have a problem with this, just check the first few posts on last week thread Anyway Sam Smith should easily debut in the top 10 And I think Taylor is locked for #1 until a few weeks after the album is released

I didn't realize that Silence was that high on Spotify. Interesting.
I also hope that the "early" creation of this thread doesn't respawn the argument about the following week's thread popping up before the current week's Hot 100 is revealed.

I'm glad that Silence is that high on Spotify. Marshmello and Khalid are amazing.
Thread: I always found weird and had to refer to the current week as "kinda off-topic but... song X has a good chance to reach a new peak next week (Month Y, Day X)". Now, I have a thread to post this stuff. It's a good idea, imo.

Spotify (Day 1 of 7) (Will be cumulative)1. [The Suicide Hotline song] / Logic feat. Alessia Cara & Khalid (1.453) 2. ...Ready for It? / Taylor Swift (1.272) I don't wanna be boring, but the Spotify update is incorrect. I think you're using Thursday's numbers. Sam Smith's new song is #2: www.spotontrack.com/charts/daily/streams/us/2017-09-08

Looks like Taylor's got a third week at #1 locked. I'm actually a little bit worried about radio though, isn't it catching up a little too slow? Also, where will Sam land?? So many questions

How many debuts will take place on this chart? Does anyone know the highest amount of new entries/debuts in one week. Please don't tell me it's a Drake week or something.

Considering that Drake hasn't done anything since Signs flopped, I doubt we'd be getting a Drake week for the rest of 2017, and thank God for that. inb4 we get a Drake track debut sometime between now and December.

Fixed Spotify with today's data. Also added in a discount list for iTunes since that's pertinent information as to what could be getting a promo push or about to take a major hit once it's taken off.

Looks like Taylor's got a third week at #1 locked. I'm actually a little bit worried about radio though, isn't it catching up a little too slow? It isn't rising as fast as some past singles, but it's not like much else is a threat for #1 at the moment.

Considering that Drake hasn't done anything since Signs flopped, I doubt we'd be getting a Drake week for the rest of 2017, and thank God for that. inb4 we get a Drake track debut sometime between now and December. Regarding chartfreak's question, I noticed the Hot 100 that was just revealed had 20 debuts which also happened the week that Views debuted on the Billboard 200. Whether those would be a record, I'm not sure ... Drake can always be featured in a somebody else's song and chart in the Hot 100, even for a week ... Let's be glad we have a break from him while it last. Regarding rimetm's, I agree it feels weird to start the discussion until after the Hot 100 from the week before is revealed. In the meantime, both the digital sales and streaming tracking weeks have started. I guess part of the reason that has happened here is that there's separate ongoing iTunes and Spotify threads that already address those two issues to some extent. I would rather deal with that chart week that the tracking weeks themselves, rather than deal with the source of data specifically. What I'm saying, is I'm for it. I mean, while I do track iTunes digital sales and Spotify streaming, I have never bothered to deal with those threads I mentioned. While those components do add to the Hot 100, I'd rather deal with how something doing well somewhere ultimately affects their position in the Hot 100.

That's like 13 weeks from now. What makes you think that though?

And everyone was saying all three of them were going to the top 10, everyone but me. And I was right, they failed to hit the top 10, and I was glad they didn't crack through.

I was wondering... I feel like the "pop" scene looks somewhat boring nowadays. Not that long ago we had MJ, Madonna, Janet, and then Britney, NSYNC and so on. Every awards show was promising and exciting as the "superstars" would be sure to put out great performances. Now what do we have to look forward to? Selena Gomez? Demi Lovato? Justin Bieber? I don't mean to sound like one of those old people who complain about the younger generation, but I just don't think Selena Gomes compares to the greats before her at all. I feel like the closest we came to exciting superstars was Rihanna and Kanye, and even that seems like a decade ago since now they're more interested in being "artistic."
What are you guys' takes on this?
