Don't think I'm gonna do clues after all lol it's just gonna bother me trying to come up with good ones. K Koke is an English rapper of Greek-Cypriot descent, and 'Lay Your Weapons Down' was the second single from his debut album. Rita provided guest vocals singing the song's chorus. Released in March 2013, it became K Koke's first (and to date only) top 20 UK hit; presumably Rita's star power after multiple UK hits is what helped drive its chart success. While every song in this rankdown has a top 10 ranking, this is the only song in the game not to have a single-digit ranking. Here we have Rita's first officially released recording, as a guest vocalist on fellow UK singer Craig David's 2007 studio album 'Trust Me'. Rita appears uncredited on the album track 'Awkward', joining Craig on the last minute of the song; singing the bridge and sharing the final chorus of the track. I'm surprised this is the first out of the two Craig David songs, because Rita has a much greater presence on this song as opposed to 'Where's Your Love'. That said, I'm also surprised this was able to escape the bottom two because there is so little Rita on the track compared to the songs this beat out. Also, this is the only tie in the rankdown; beating 'Lay Down Your Weapons' based on the two #6 rankings for this versus the two #10 rankings for 'Weapons'. Okay full disclosure; I don't know how this not only beat the other Craig song, but I also don't know how this wasn't a shoe-in for dead last. Rita is barely on this song at ALL, at least on 'Awkward' she has a solo. She is featured prominently in the video, but that's about it. 'Where's Your Love' is a single from Craig's 2008 greatest hits set and Rita's first released single. Also with this reveal we say goodbye to our first top 5 ranking. Early reveals indicate that most of my rankings are going to be very distant from everyone else's lol.
Can't speak for anyone else, but I like most of Craig's music enough that I wasn't going to downgrade the song just b/c Rita wasn't very present on it. Unfortunately that like could not extend to Awkward, which is, well, a pretty awkward mess lyrically. I wanted to like the song so much more but I simply couldn't. Both Craig and Rita have done much better.
Lay Down Your Weapons is not bad at all, but more or less reminded me of every G-Eazy or Pitbull or Iggy or B.o.B pop hit where the hook pretty much defines the song and the rapper's only responsibility is to just not get in the way of his or her own hit. It's like they're the guests on their own songs.

So not only is Cynthia the first person to lose a top 10 with #25, but with #20 she is also the first person to lose a #1 (and for a little extra salt it is also someone's #25). 'Get A Little Closer' was intended as the follow-up to 'I Will Never Let You Down'; but then Rita split with Calvin Harris and he took with him all of the songs that they'd worked on together (including this song). Live recordings exist of the original version, but this remix by Imanos & Gramercy is the only studio version of the song out there. I don't quite know whether this leaked or not, because at one point I thought I read somewhere about the remix being released as part of some promotion for Samsung (which would mean it's not actually a leak). Either way, the studio version of the original is both unreleased and unleaked. @antigonerising #1 Leo ✔ #8 Normi #10 .indulgecountry #14 Az Paynter #15 DistrictTwelve #16 JOJO SIWA DERANGEMENT SYNDROME #17 born #18 Glove Slap #18 Ky #18 CF15 #19 Choco #19 jtd Thee Stallion #20 @mirza #22 Sambalada #23 sergejdordij #23 @walker9 #25 {Songs Remaining}How We Do (Party) R.I.P. 'Love & War' is a track from Rita's debut album 'Ora' featuring rapper J. Cole, co-written by Ester Dean and produced by Stargate. The song was not released as a single (promo or otherwise) but did manage to chart in the lower reaches of the UK singles chart. Otherwise, there isn't really anything else of note to the song - save for it was in my top 10 (and I was the only top 10 ranking). Nobody loses a top 5 with #18, but we do say goodbye to another #25. 'Grateful' is a Diane Warren-penned song which Rita recorded for the 'Beyond The Lights' soundtrack. The song was nominated for Best Original Song at the 87th Academy Awards, and Rita performed the song during the ceremony. The song was beaten out by Common & John Legend's song 'Glory' from the movie 'Selma'. Yet another #25 gets lost with this next song, and ya'll bottom 5 rankers did this song dirty. Although lol I am a little bit surprised I'm not the highest ranker on this. The song was recorded for Conor Maynard's debut album 'Contrast', which was released on July 20th, 2012. Like 'Love & War' before it, the song was not released as a single (promo or otherwise) but was still able to chart on the UK singles chart. @mirza #3 Az Paynter #4 CF15 #8 Sambalada #9 .indulgecountry #11 Ky #12 Leo ✔ #12 sergejdordij #16 born #17 @antigonerising #18 Normi #18 @walker9 #19 JOJO SIWA DERANGEMENT SYNDROME #22 Glove Slap #22 jtd Thee Stallion #22 Choco #24 DistrictTwelve #25 {Songs Remaining}How We Do (Party) R.I.P. Finishing off today's reveals is the track 'Young, Single & Sexy' from Rita's debut album. Another Stargate production, this song was featured on the deluxe edition of the album and again charted on the UK singles chart. It is the highest-peaking of her non-singles on this chart. This song also features the third consecutive #25 loss in a row, this time with two people getting rid of their bottom ranking. How the heck is this her best song, cynthia???? Well I can't speak for her reasoning, but the #1 ranking doesn't necessarily mean she thinks it's Rita's best - it could be a favourite, or it could be to help out a song that would otherwise be underappreciated. *shrugs* The bolded, pretty much. I discovered GALC through this rankdown - didn't realize it is a remnant of one of her snatched Calvin songs! - and I had a feeling it wasn't going to fare well but I choose to attribute that more to a large lack of familiarity with it than a reflection of the song's quality and my contrarian tastes, lol. I didn't think my lone #1 ranking would boost it particularly high, it was just a very kneejerk reaction to a song I fell in love with on first listen. If I'd let my rankings marinate for a day or two I probably would have eventually adjusted it down a few spots, but as it was I was already late with my submission so I didn't have time for second thoughts. The rest of my top 5 is a bit more sensible (I'm thinking the #1 song overall might be my #4 or #5). I'm pleasantly surprised my #3 song is still in this though I have my own gripe with that song.
