Following three consecutive chart-topping UK hits, Rita released 'Shine Ya Light' as the third single from her debut album 'Ora' in late 2012. It was only released in the UK and Europe, and it became her fourth top 10 UK hit that year. Rita shot the music video for the song in Pristina, Kosovo - the Albanian city where she was born. She also recorded a version in the fictional Simlish langauge for 'The Sims 3'. born #7 @walker9 #7 Sambalada #7 .indulgecountry #10 sergejdordij #11 Choco #13 JOJO SIWA DERANGEMENT SYNDROME #14 DistrictTwelve #14 Glove Slap #14 @mirza #14 Leo ✔ #15 Normi #15 jtd Thee Stallion #18 @antigonerising #20 Az Paynter #20 CF15 #21 Ky #24 {Songs Remaining}How We Do (Party) R.I.P. Prior to the release of 'Ora' (and after 'How We Do' and 'R.I.P.') Rita dropped 'Roc The Life' as a promo single, although the song failed to chart. A music video was uploaded to Rita's VEVO account documenting Rita on tour across the UK; an acoustic version for VEVO LIFT is also featured on her channel. 'Roc The Life' beats out 'Shine Ya Light' in this rankdown by a single point, and the next song to come also beats 'Roc The Life' by a single point. This song features the most top 10 rankings so far, but its exit also ditches another person's #25. American rapper Charles Hamilton enlisted Rita to provide vocals for his single 'New York Raining' in 2015; the song was featured in the first season finale of hit musical TV drama 'Empire', and was included on the soundtrack for the show. 'New York Raining' served as the lead single from his debut album with Republic Records. Five more top 10's are lost with this song's placement, but no top 5's. In the midst of Rita's continued mess of a second album era with Roc Nation, she recorded this song with British drum and bass duo Sigma for their debut album 'Life'. The song was released in November 2015 as the 7th(!) single just a month prior to the album's eventual December release. After 'Body On Me' became her first single as a lead artist to miss the top 20, this song returned her to that region in the mid-teens. Five more top 10's down, and another #25. LOL rip you were the only one to guess at what would miss. But you did it. :kii: It put up a good fight for a top 10 placement, but 'Doing It' fell 16 points short to finish just outside at #11. The song began as a solo Charli XCX track from her sophomore album 'Sucker', but Rita was added to the single mix when it was released as the 3rd single following 'Boom Clap' and 'Break The Rules'. The song was a top 10 UK success for the two collaborators, but its US release was a dud. The loss of 'Doing It' takes out our second #1 ranking, as well as top 10's from 9 out of 17 participants (myself included). From #11 onward, every single song has at least one #1 ranking. Every song in the top 10 has at least one #1 ranking, and this one sadly is Jim's. 'Radioactive' was penned by Sia and Greg Kurstin, and produced by the latter for Rita's debut album. It was released as the 4th UK single and was intended as the 3rd US single - although a radio push did not materialize, and the American release of the album was eventually scrapped. 'Radioactive' was the lowest-peaking of her debut album's singles in the UK and in Australia. born #1 sergejdordij #2 Az Paynter #3 Sambalada #5 Choco #8 JOJO SIWA DERANGEMENT SYNDROME #8 @mirza #8 .indulgecountry #8 Leo ✔ #10 @antigonerising #12 Glove Slap #13 Normi #13 @walker9 #15 Ky #15 CF15 #17 DistrictTwelve #18 jtd Thee Stallion #24 {Remaining Songs}How We Do (Party) R.I.P. Originally titled 'Party & Bulls**t' (after the Notorious B.I.G single from which it samples its hook), 'How We Do (Party)' was retitled to make the song more appealing to radio programmers. It was released as Rita's debut single in the US, and as the follow-up to 'R.I.P' in the UK. While it became her third UK chart-topper, the song did not manage to breach the upper half of the Hot 100 in the US. It was, however a #1 dance hit thanks to its remix package from the likes of Gustavo Scorpio, Papercha$er, Sandro Silva and Laidback Luke. We lose one #1 and one #25 with its placement. 11 out of 17 people ranked this song in their top 10. 'Poison' was the second lead single from Rita's sophomore album, replacing 'I Will Never Let You Down' after all of her material with Calvin Harris was scrapped. Released in 2015, the song continued her success in the UK with a top 3 placement with smaller successes throughout Europe and Australia. The song was not given a push stateside. There are no bottom 5 rankings, but there is one more #1 loss. This was actually comfortably in the top 5 in the middle of submissions but later lists saw it get pushed out. jtd Thee Stallion #1 @mirza #2 Sambalada #2 @antigonerising #4 Normi #4 Choco #5 Glove Slap #5 sergejdordij #5 DistrictTwelve #7 Az Paynter #9 .indulgecountry #12 born #16 CF15 #16 JOJO SIWA DERANGEMENT SYNDROME #16 @walker9 #17 Leo ✔ #19 Ky #20 {Remaining Songs}R.I.P. Rita's first #1 hit in the UK was as the featured vocalist on DJ Fresh's drum and bass single 'Hot Right Now', released as the second single from his third album 'Nextlevelism'. The collaboration came about after DJ Fresh found an acoustic version of Outkast's 'Hey Ya' performed by Rita and uploaded to YouTube. The song became one of the biggest UK hits of 2012, with additional success smattered across Europe. One more #1 bites the dust. This song also flirted with the top 5 during the submission phase but was never as comfortable in the region as 'Poison', despite finishing one place ahead. With this ranking, Rita's debut album is wiped out just shy of the top 5. The song was released in the UK as the lead single from 'Ora', and later released in the US as the follow-up to 'How We Do (Party)'. Featuring a writing credit by Drake, the song features British rapper Tinie Tempah, and includes a sample from the Chase & Status remix of 'Heartbeat' by Nigerian singer Nneka. Drake had originally written the song for Rihanna, for inclusion on 'Loud', but she passed on the song and it was given to Rita instead when she expressed her interest. What makes this ranking painful is that three people lose their #1's. Only the winner of this rankdown has the same number of top rankings. @mirza #1 Leo ✔ #1 Normi #1 Ky #2 jtd Thee Stallion #3 Az Paynter #5 born #6 @walker9 #6 Choco #7 JOJO SIWA DERANGEMENT SYNDROME #10 Glove Slap #11 sergejdordij #13 CF15 #14 Sambalada #14 .indulgecountry #15 @antigonerising #21 DistrictTwelve #23 {YOUR TOP 5}I Will Never Let You Down Body On Me (ft.
