Sorry Not Sorry’s verses are good but the chorus IS NOT.

I didn't find a thread, but Tom Perry died. RIP :( CBS confirmed the death, then said the LAPD couldn't confirm it yet ... although Billboard's article did mention he was taken off life support. It's a bit confusing at this point.

Unforgettable's longevity is amazing. I thought it would leave the top 10 a few weeks ago when it fell to #9. Five more weeks in the top 10 (hard to achieve but... who knows) and a slow fall afterwards and it may reach the top 100 of the decade.

As with the case of ANY song. A huge smash such as 'You Light Up My Life' is a huge for that period. It was a big song for the time and certainly deserved all the accolades. Now not all songs hold up the same over time. Other songs from the 70s get more attention. Same with the 80s. 'Physical' is #1 for the 80s chart-wise but in terms of interest a generation later, #1 would have to be 'Don't Stop Believin'' I remember when "You Light Up My Life" was a big hit in the fall of 1977 (yes I'm old), and all I can say is it really was a super duper big hit song that got played to death on the radio. Debby Boone is Pat Boone's daughter, so there was a "following in her father's footsteps" thing going on with it too. Of course in the end, she didn't. As far as chart accomplishments go, YLUML was the first song on the Hot 100 since its inception in 1958 to stay on top for 10 weeks; there had been a few 9 week #1's previously, but no other song had ever topped the chart for 10 weeks until YLUML so that was a big deal at the time too. The song even spawned a (really bad) movie. I don't know, I guess you just kinda had to be there.

01 03 You Light Up My Life - Debby Boone (1st of 10 weeks at #1) I don't understand why this was so big back then. The song is boring even for me and the SNL songs were much more memorable than this alone Same with How Do I Live. So glad Closer and Shape Of You showed up because it just seems wrong for boring nothing songs like that to have top 10 records. *implying that Closer and Shape of You aren't boring nothing songs*

Jacob Sartorius is more 2016 than 2017 though. I mean, I don't think I've really heard about the little guy that much this year, certainly not as much as people like Jake Paul and Danielle Bregoli. Also, while I like "Sorry Not Sorry" fine enough, I can understand someone hating it. Maybe they could find Demi Lovato's vocals during the chorus grating on their nerves. Exactly. It isn't the worst quality-wise, but I hate it the most. Demi is just so... Annoying vocally, if that's a thing. Annoying to you, not for everyone. It is really subjective , but apparently most people think otherwise since the GP is liking that song apparently (Good airplay without the help of any deal + boost in sales whenever she performs on a live show). In my opinion, that top 10 was well deserved and probably more than anyone in the top 10. (Minus Feel it still & 1-800-273-8255)

He never presented his opinion as anything more... He didn't say it like it was an opinion, he literally wrote like he was stating a fact. Complete misread of preg's posts. The first statement was " my least favorite song", the second was " I hate it the most". And if you can't read the other sentence in that same context, well, I think it's a bit oversensitive of you if you need IMO in every critique.

Imo I still think This Is Me is gonna be the most remembered Demi song in similar fashion to Hilary Duff's "This Is What Dreams Are Made Of" Since both are from iconic Disney films
Either way happy that SNS made top 10 though it's far above and beyond from being close to a faved from Demi

I honestly have nothing towards SNS being his least favorite song. My critic was only about this part of his comment " Demi is just so... Annoying vocally" .

Again, most people can read the presentation of that statement as his personal feelings without the IMO qualifier. Hilary Duff's "This Is What Dreams Are Made Of" The only Duff song I remember hearing out in the wild as a non-Disney Channel-sitcom-watching kid was "So Yesterday", for what that's worth.

You mean to say that over 50% of all the people who heard the song shared that opinion? The song is a minor hit so far, so talking about "most people" can only be an exaggeration.

How Do I Live is the theme song of Con Air, a box office hit of that year. That definitely is an added factor to the song's popularity. I personally love it. It's a sweet love song. I didn't expect Sorry Not Sorry hitting the top 10 would ignite some heated talk here

LeAnn recorded it for the film, but Disney rejected it as too pop and LeAnn being too young. Trisha Yearwood then recorded it for the movie, which was also released as a single on the SAME DAY. LeAnn’s video was filmed in a way that anticipated scenes from film being inserted. That didn’t happen. It’s quite a messy story.

I think this is worth posting here for anybody that doesn't go to the pop forum Taylor FAILED with this lead single and I'm not expecting her to be #1 on Hot 100 anytime soon There are other songs that should be getting more love, so I'm happy this happened so quickly

So why didn't Bhad Bhabie's new songs chart anywhere? Were the YouTube streams not counted because they had two songs on one video? Or should we expect her next week? Or what? Seems like they did plenty well enough to chart, but I guess not.

The negativity in this thread is through the roof... I'm not going to sit down and applaud someone who had potential to have a smash but instead released a shit song that is deservingly going down I do hope she is going to be ok and that I'm truly the only one that thinks she lost credibility

You've heard 1 single from reputation (possibly 2 now) and she has already lost credibility in your eyes? You're just turning down an artist because of 0.5% of her discography, that's ridiculous.

But you know what, that's fine for me... sometimes we need to fail to really put some effort into the next thing. And saying this song isn't a hit is wrong anyway.
