A little less then a week and a half reminder! Currently I have received lists from: Daryl Red Alexuse Humanshazam Rowellfarm490 Disassociative Peacebone If you submitted a list and you're not on THIS list please let me know, as it's very possible I missed your submission! And of course it's not too late to submit either. Now that we're getting closer to the reveal date I figured I'd do a mini-ballot update of sorts, as 7 submissions in the list is looking very interesting... Currently only one song has all bottom 10 rankings. However this song in question has a shot of being my #1 (haven't submitted my final list quite yet), making it a very real possibility that I may not only be the first person to lose their #1, but I may lose my #1 on the first reveal! Mirroring this, another song almost has all bottom 10 rankings -- in fact with one exception, this song has all bottom 5 rankings! However that one outlier ranking is a #1, which belongs to a poster who's rankings have several other outliers too. Meanwhile two songs have all top 10 rankings right now, including one song made up of entirely rankings within four spots of each other. That's right, assuming this trend keeps up, a song in this rankdown has a legit shot of having the lowest *ever* standard deviation in a pulse rankdown! Currently one song sticks out to me as having the best shot at winning, however several other songs are within striking distance and peoples' #1 are far more spread out then I thought they would be! I'm hoping to get up to at least 12 lists, if not more, so if this teaser wasn't enough to sell you then I don't know what is. Submit away! |

My first guess for the last place song would be BMTH but maybe one of the more "acquired taste" bands like Rammstein and Primus will take it.

Now that we have 3 more lists in (including mine!) and we're less then two days away from the deadline, I figured I'd do a second mini ballot update of sorts. This is probably also the last one I'm doing unless I get a ton of lists in these next couple days. Anyways... After the three most recent ballots, there are now no longer any songs with all top 10 or bottom 10 rankings. The closest thing to it is my #1, which aside from my ranking is made up of entirely bottom 10 rankings. You guys have awful taste!  Meanwhile, one of the songs that previously had all top 10 rankings received two very poor rankings and dropped to #3, despite holding #1 for much of this rankdown. Will it return to the top? The new #1 is there primarily because of consistancy, as it has the fourth lowest standard deviation and a surprisingly low amount of poor rankings. However, low standard deviations aren't entirely a blessing, as the current #20 sports the third lowest standard deviation. I certainly didn't expect THIS to be #20 at this point in the rankdown, but I guess it makes sense, as its highest ranking is an abysmal 9. Oh and remember the song I mentioned could have one of the lowest standard deviations ever? The new lists have foiled that a bit -- however it still has the lowest standard deviation in this rankdown and every ranking for this song is still within 9 positions of each other. There's tight battles for position throughout the field, as the bottom 3 and top 3 are both separated by only 7 points! In fact, the largest gap between any positions is a mere 9 points (between positions 9 and 10), making it all the more important to get your lists in! |

This is your final reminder! Lists are due by 6PM PST tommorow, so get them in to me before then! Expect no extensions. The reveal will start at about 9:30PM PST, though that's a rough estimate and I could possibly start it earlier or later depending on how plans go. I currently have 11 lists (having received one more from Lordef†ones since the last mini ballot update). I was hoping for a couple more, but I'm certainly fine launching the rankdown with this many lists and will if I don't get any before tommorow. I'll post a prediction questionnaire tommorow, similar to the ones we've done on the year end rankdowns before, a few hours before the rankdown begins so you guys can say you totally called it when a certain song gets out. I look forward to starting this tommorow and hosting my first ever rankdown! |

Alright folks this rankdown is beginning! I'll have the first clue posted in 5 minutes c: Now is also probably the time to mention that I'll be calculating this via just totaling up the ballots people gave me, as opposed to inverting them, which means that more points = bad. It won't affect the rankings or anything, I just did it because it was easier for me. |

Okay first clue! Our #20 earned surprisingly unpolarizing rankings, with only one #20 and one of the lower standard deviations. However, it was a whopping 7 bottom 5s that doomed it, along with only 3 top 10s and 1 top 5. |

I liked every song here, so even songs like this and my 20 are songs that I do like and would have ranked decently well in a bigger, more varied rankdown. This was just a hard ranking to finish.

I listened to most of the songs on this rankdown many times before submitting and as such got pretty burned on a lot of them, but I think this is the one I got the sickest of. It wasn't just burnout, the more I listened to this one the more all its little flaws and quirks really started to get on my nerves. I still like this song, but this and to a lesser extent my #19 might not make it in if I were to redo this list.

Alright, #19 is a much more interesting case. This song not only has two #20s and 5 bottom 5 rankings, it's otherwise made up of has entirely bottom 10 rankings sans one, so you'd think this would be our #20, right? However that one outlier is actually a #1, making this our first #1 loss thus far! The #1 ranking, combined with less bottom 5 rankings then Lacquer Head, allowed this song to barely squeeze into 19th place. |
