Great song. How could I forget Power Station when submitting the extras? Arcadia sounded more like Duran Duran and Power Sation sounded more like Robert Palmer music. Both were great bands.

Nice (194 pts)Album: Astronaut Released: August 2006 This is the first time a full-fledged single failed to chart. Of course the fact that they cancelled the music video & waited 23 months after the first single from the album to release this third single...well, these were probably contributing factors. This one is kind of like "El Presidente", it's a little lower than I expected...but I wasn't really expecting that much, either.

Falling Down (200 pts)Album: Red Carpet Massacre Released: September 2007 This song features Justin Timberlake on backing vocals, but it's so hidden I wouldnt've known if they didn't tell us. This marks the last time our heroes would be on the UK singles chart. #2 Italy #21 Scotland #52 UK #60 Switzerland #79 Germany @cagedjuggalo : 14 Pollen : 20 rainie : 28 Disco🌶️📖 : 30 mamooshka : 30 Mirago : 32 Glove Slap : 35 Doc Indie Party Rock : 40 Red : 44 Juanca : 45 Troy _ : 45 peacebone : 49 watchers: Billy Leo ✔ @humanshazam

Damn, I was hoping this could make it further, but I'm not surprised.
I always thought this was good even though a lot of other people didn't.

That clears out the RCM album. Now of for something quite a bit earlier. We have 6 bottom 10s, two of which are #50s, but someone on the other end loses a top 10 song.

Next is the first time we get a second taste of an album in this rankdown. There are 4 bottom 10 rankings, 1 of which is a P-P-P-P-PERFECT RANKING!I see what you did there. The thing for me is that "Falling Down" and "Skin Divers" are not Duran Duran. "Falling Down" was okay, but I didn't really care for 'Skin Divers". Also, to make sure we fill the quota, P-P-P-P-PERFECT RANKING!

40. Falling Down Can't say that I'm surprised of this song's ranking. The video still was very Duran Duran with the beautiful women and everything, but the song sounded very weak in the instrument department. It seems they were trying to capture the style of "Come Undone" , but just came out short. Particularly in the percussion dept. I'm just glad they went back to their own sound with "Girl Panic" album.

Night Boat (204 pts)Album: Duran Duran Released: August 1981 Also known as "(Waiting For The) Nightboat", this was covered by Deftones in 1997. This is a non-single album track, but they did release this official video featuring zombies a few years before "Thriller" was filmed - maybe MJ got the idea from watching this? peacebone : 7 Red : 13 Doc Indie Party Rock : 22 rainie : 24 @cagedjuggalo : 26 Troy : 30 Pollen : 45 Glove Slap : 46 Mirago : 47 Disco🌶️📖 : 48 Juanca : 50 mamooshka : 50 watchers: Billy Leo ✔ @humanshazam

Yup, we have our first (but not our last) tie of the rankdown. One song has 3 bottom tens, while the other has 5 (one of which is a #50), One of these albums we've visited before, the other we have not (not saying which is which). Oh, and while someone loses a top 10 with one song, someone else nearly loses a top 10 with the other. While from different albums, these two songs do share something in common.

By the way, Disco & Mirago finally shed their very first bottom 10 song back at #43. Who will be the first to clear ALL of their bottom 10 ranks?

43. Night Boat I actually liked this one. So as it turns out it was the Fab Five and not ,the King of Pop, who first featured zombies in their videos. Thank you. This actually struck me as a Lucio Fulci production at first glance. I was really into the Zombie movies of the 80's back then too.

42. Femme Fatale You all know this by now? P-P-P-P- PERFECT ranking! Not much more to say about this one. A bit sappy for the Fab Five. Sounded more Savage Garden than Duran Duran.
41. White Lines (Don't Do It) haha! What can I say? This wasn't Duran Duran at all. I don't really go nuts about the original either. The real head scratcher here, was that Duran Duran vibe was supposed to be the added grungy guitars? Really? When was Duran Duran about grungy guitars.

EXTRA Arcadia - The Flame
Album: So Red The Rose Released: 1986
#29 Ireland #38 Netherlands #58 UK
With 3/5 of DD away working on the Power Station album, Nick & Simon formed Arcadia. Roger had small roles on both side projects actually. Unlike Power Station, Arcadia didn't bring outside musicians into the group, they did, however, have quite a few guest appearances sprinkled throughout, including David Gilmour, Grace Jones, Herbie Hancock, & Sting. Simon declared this "the most pretentious album ever made". Nick liked that description adding: "I should jolly well think so"
I love the video's ode to Rocky Horror Picture Show. If you watch closely you'll see a cameo by John who shows up holding a contract (this was filmed right before DD "mostly" reunited to record the Notorious album) - those brits are the best at self-deprecating humour!

- Femme Fatale: This was a first listen to me, and with every listen I liked it more, so it kept creeping up in my ranking. - White Lines: This was a personal top 5 when it was released. I liked how they transformed and modernized WL, added guitars, rap and all. Just like with Drowning Man, I appreciate Duran Duran's effort to be adventurous and explore outside of their comfort zone.

Arcadia - The Flame What a great tune. I have this album on LP and CD. Simon has vocals like no other. This is basically a Duran Duran song in the style of "A View To A Kill". This particular song went top 5 on my personal charts for a few weeks. The 80's were very competitive.
