AdditionsWhatever it Takes / Imagine Dragons It's impressive how they love to push new singles when the one before starts taking off. First it was Believer/Thunder, now Thunder/Whatever It Takes - hopefully, this will turn out as great as it did with the former. Additionally, the video for Whatever It Takes is coming next week. That should also help it.

I swear, if Gucci Gang will continue to rise...
I mean, people, it's instrumental sounds like the sister of the car alarm of Toyota Corolla that got captured by Nazis, sent to Auschwitz and escaped, only so she could become the angry bitch on a period with like double the presence that she should.
And then there is Lil Pump. This f**king lyrical mastermind talks, as he doesn't even rap, about f**king his teacher or his grandma or whoever. From his tone, it must seem as if he got rejected, and his 11yo mind decided to do drugs, to stop the pain, but no drug dealer wanted to sell the autistic kid drugs, I mean, sorry autistic kids, so he just mashed crayons and sucked the powder, which permanently stuffed his nose. I mean, his ugly ass better discover tissues or some s**t.

That should also help it. It's probably because Whatever It Takes is their new single being promoted to rock stations, while Thunder is crossing over to pop. It's a common pattern for rock songs - they push it to rock first, then a select few might crossover to pop.

Not in the slightest, his death was on a Monday, meaning 4 days (the brunt of post-death singles sales) were part of the last tracking period. The physical album push this week won't have a significant effect on digital singles, naturally.

Praying has had insane longevity in the Top 40, at this point I don't think it's getting past #22. But that's a pretty good peak for an artist that hasn't released a single in 4 years, plus it's not like it peaked at #22 and fell quickly, the song debuted at #25 and 13 weeks in has still not left the Top 40.
It also shows no signs of stopping, as it's still gaining airplay. It should have a pretty slow descent, which guarantees it a spot on this years Year-End, and maybe next years if we are lucky. Overall I'm happy for the song's success, definitely one of my favorites this year.

Do you have any evidence of this? Proof of money transactions or stuff like that would help :) Payola doesn't mean money. The exchange of literally anything for more airplay falls under that category. It is only monetary compensation for more airplay that is illegal. Also, the song literally went from +/-20 updates to +350 on the pop format in less than a week. That just doesn't happen without am excessive promotional event, of which this song did not endure in this past week. If you seriously think that's not a big red flag that something took place behind the scenes, you have to be insanely clueless or in incredible denial.

The exchange of LITERALLY ANYTHING for more airplay (except money) open my brain to imagine far more things thanI should for what "took place behind the scenes" Or maybe I am just "insanely clueless" - LOL Probably not for this song, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear of sexual favors being distributed for airplay happening. Especially in the 70s/80s.

So why is everyone using the term 'payola' with such negativity? I know the song got pretty monstrous updates considering it was stagnant at #4 at Pop but did she do anything illegal to push it? If not, I don't think we should be talking about this with such a negative connotation. Trading spins for appearances on concerts is totally fine in my books. And we don't even know what happened for sure.

^ What are the callout scores like for this song? It could be that too, that radio audiences are actually liking it, though probably not, however sales and streaming aren't falling as precipitously as they were the first couple weeks, so it's hard to say...

It's really impressive how it's lasted. Expect this song to be on SEVERAL Best Hit Songs of 2017 lists.

LWYMMD gains in radio will probably give it the longevity it needs on Hot 100 Radio is the weakest link. Number 1 on Radio chart is Attention (#15 on Billboard) and future #1 (rockstarr) is not even in the top 100 of Radio. Only good streaming will save her spot in the top 10...but yeah, LWYMMD will be on the chart for at least 23 weeks.

Look still hasn't made Pop Callouts (i.e. its familiarity is below 60%) - which, by itself, is pretty weird. You'd expect this song to be known by 60% of the pop radio audience at this point, especially 'cause it has 85% of the #1 AI on the format.

Does Eminem's Trump freestyle have a chance to chart? It was uploaded to youtube yesterday and is now over 13 million views. Or would it not count as an actual song according to Billboard?
