 The theme song to the movie "The Star" coming out on November 17, 2017 by Columbia Pictures. It stars Steven Yeun, Oprah Winfrey, Zachary Levi, Kris Kristofferson, Delilah, Tyler Perry, Kristine Chenoweth and others. It's a 3D animated film based on the Nativity of Jesus Christ. Mariah wrote this song with Oscar nominated, Grammy, Emmy, Tony winning Broadway/film composer Marc Shaiman whom she had collaborated with before on two songs off her last Christmas album, "Christmas Time Is In The Air Again" and "One Child". It will be released in two weeks. |

It's lovely, and I'll listen to it tons during the holiday season, don't get me wrong, but I'm glad a saccharine, 1995-Disney song like this is for a movie and doesn't set the tone for her regular material. Anyway, slay on, Queen! Murder the AC charts! 🙌

This is pleasant enough, but doesn't grip me at all, and the kids totally ruin it for me, making it much more juvenile than it already is (I get that it's for a children's movie, so the intent isn't bad, it just isn't my cup of tea). I like that it's clearly in a good range for her, and she sounds strong and warm, but I don't see myself returning to this unfortunately.

It's not going to do much of anything anywhere. Sounds just like any cut and paste animated closing credit song and does nothing for her vocally either.

Oh I did not realize that this was a Holiday song. Oops. Thought that it was another Pop single. Now it makes sense I guess.
