Tom Joyner, once known as The Fly Jock--and even today, he may still be known as The Hardest Working Man in Radio--has announced that he will retire at the end of 2019. How did Tom Joyner earn the moniker The Fly Jock, and the title The Hardest Working Man in Radio? From 1986 to 1994, he did the morning drive at Dallas' KKDA--then he flew to Chicago to do the afternoon drive at WGCI. He worked at both stations every day, for eight years! Jackson's WKXI (Kixie 107) has been an affiliate of The Tom Joyner Morning Show for over a decade.

Correction: The Dallas-to-Chicago stint was more from 1986-1994. It was in '94 when Joyner launched his nationally syndicated program.
