Working as we speak on the final two reveals and they will of course come in the same post.
Who will it be?
"Leave The Pieces" or "Before He Cheats"?

Pretty surprised that The Wreckers came this far honestly, and I would be over the moon if they took the victory in a surprise upset... but I'm still expecting Carrie Underwood coasted to a safe win here because BHC seems like an obvious winner.

YES YES YES YES YES!!!! The only blemish in the top 5 is finally gone.
Excellent top 2!!! SO surprised The Wreckers made it this far, but I'm not complaining, because "Leave The Pieces" is amazing.
I'll be absolutely stunned if the flawless BHC doesn't win this, but at least if that doesn't happen, it will lose to something else that I love.

I am shocked Sara Evans made the top 5 at all, as I feel like "Cheatin'" is one of her more forgotten songs. But it absolutely slays, so I am thrilled it made it this high, but I am also sad it didn't make it higher. I am definitely throwing major side-eye at the bottom ranker though. #94 is almost 2x as many positions down the list as the next lowest person... Lmao this song was almost placed in the top 50 by literally everybody else! For somebody who claimed to love traditional country and especially fiddle, I'm going to go ahead and give him the benefit of the doubt and assume his placement was just a bad typo or something... Anyway, without that lower ranking, it looks like this song would have handily beaten "Kerosene" to make it at least into the top 4... I am eager to see how close "Cheatin'" would have gotten to #1. "Kerosene" is a catchy and fun song, but I am always surprised by how well-received it is. To me it is great and I understand why people like it, but I don't understand why people seem to like it so much more than many other songs. I would have never thought this song belonged in the top 5 in such an incredibly strong list...

"Want To" is a great song and I do love that song but overplay really killed that song for me. Am hoping "Before He Cheats" and "Leave the Pieces" do not win as they are my lowest remaining, would be happy with any of the others winning. lol poor castle

Wow, that is a STEEP point drop from Miranda to Dierks! I don't think Sara would have been able to get any higher than #4 even if Nickvcountry had put her at #1! That makes me feel a bit better about her being tanked :-)

If any Carrie song deserves to win a non-Carrie RD, "Before He Cheats" is one of them!

If any Carrie song deserves to win a non-Carrie RD, "Before He Cheats" is one of them! JTTW would have deserved it even moreso... But I digress.

I am in shock, but either way this was an awesome winner! This is an awesome victory for The Wreckers, even if they will never know what they just accomplished. Surprises like this don't come around nearly enough in the RD world, and this is by far one of the more epic ones!! You did an awesome job hosting sabre14, and what an awesome year of music this was I can't wait for your next RD!!!

"Leave the Pieces" is just incredible and I'm so glad that this duo that was only relevant for like essentially a single year could inspire this kind of passion behind their singular smash to win a rankdown like this. It's really great to see imo. I wish they would've continued to make music together because they really had something special going and it's a shame we only got one album out of them. Thanks for hosting, sabre14!

Wow, that wasn't even close. I'm surprised to see the Wreckers win, but even a few tanks wouldn't have pried it from the top. It's a great, underrated song, so I can't say I'm upset with it. I fully expected Underwood to win from the start, so it gives me a perverse sense of satisfaction that she came up short.

LOL I love when the Rankdowns have random WTF winners and I absolutely love "Leave The Pieces" so I am good with this. I prefer it to BHC but BHC encompassed 2006 on country radio more than any other song, so it also would have been a great winner. Thrilled Dierks made it Top 3. I freaking love that song. I also wish some of those typos didn't make it into the spreadsheet so In Terms of Love won in the end but I understand we can't go back and fix it.

Yea! When you’re the highest ranker of the winner!
Shocked The Wreckers won, but very happy they did. Everything about this song was near perfection. Wish they were still together making music.

Wrong. We're tied as we both had it at #2 so we share the prize! All jokes aside very happy The Wreckers got to #1 for this rankdown. The song is country pop done very well and the song is so great.

Wow! Shocked, but very happy. I assumed they had no chance based on being a fairly unknown act. I was reading up on Michelle Branch a year or so ago and she has had a very interesting life after this... Pretty sad that she can't seem to get any music out there as she has an incredible amount of talent.

To be fair both are great songs and I used to love "Before He Cheats" but overplay killed that one for me. As for "Leave The Pieces", I really like Michelle Branch a lot and this song was good but it was always kind of just there for me so am a bit disappointed to see this win over the other 4 songs in the Top 5 tbh but I'm obviously in the minority on that one lol

Whoa! "Leave The Pieces" actually won! lol. Obviously not what I wanted, but like I said it's fantastic too so I'm not upset. "Before He Cheats" just happens to be one of my all-time favorite songs. Actually, it might even BE my favorite of all-time. I don't think I would even rank any Little Big Town songs above it lmao Great rankdown! sabre14 thanks for hosting!!

YAS AT LEAVE THE PIECES! I loved my entire top 4 about equally (4 - Before He Cheats, 3 - Leave the Pieces, 2 - Every Time I Hear Your Name, 1 - Jesus Take the Wheel) so two of them being the final two was fantastic news! Pretty shocked LTP won but I don't understand how anyone could dislike that song so I'm really not. Great winner! Thanks for hosting sabre14! Your first rankdown was a good one

It may only be my #4 but "Leave The Pieces" is such an important song to me. It's a song my sister and cousin always sing together, in fact it's one of the only songs we sing together all the time. I'm simply thrilled it won!
