This will fit in well with this year to be honest. This year has been absolutely insane so far. Kate Bush getting a top 5 hit with an 80s song. 2 people nobody has ever heard of having the largest bullets on the chart. A six year old Sia song about to crack top 40. OneRepublic actually being relevant. Yeah, nothing new here.

I've been hearing this on the radio already for years, I feel like at least 1-2 times/month. I'm sure this was released as a single here in Canada back in 2017.. according to Wikipedia it got to #6 on Canadian CHR. It will be weird hearing this on US stations as new music, if that's how it's promoted, ie with the "new music" intros, etc. Such a good song, just hard to believe the US never got to have this on pop radio!

Rest in piece Less Than Zero... A possible multi number 1 week smash that they left rot in the dust... :(

I remember being stoked for the original pop radio release before it got cancelled. This will for sure smash. Hopefully they'll send "Less Than Zero" later on, but yeah this was the right move.

Did this go viral on TikTok or something? Not sure why else it would be serviced to pop radio 5 years and two albums after its initial release.

Did this go viral on TikTok or something? Not sure why else it would be serviced to pop radio 5 years and two albums after its initial release. It’s been steadily rising on Spotify and Apple Music for months now. I think it reached as high as #22 on Spotify a couple of weeks ago before the album bombs pushed it back a bit. For some reason the song keeps building and this is without radio play. So they might as well just push it fully.

I can't believe this, can somebody please get "Out of Time" to trend on TikTok or something so radio can revive it?
I'm not sure why this outta every other Starboy track blew up, the album has much better cuts like "Rockin" and "Secrets." But I guess it's a nice break from the 80's hits, he can let pop radio sit with this for a bit then bounce on them with "Less Than Zero" hopefully.

I've always enjoyed this one so I'm happy with this decision. I hope it smashes since they fumbled the Starboy era back in the day. There were so many potential hits on the album and they just hit the brakes at CHR after "I Feel It Coming." I'll never understand why.
This doing well might set the stage better for a future single from Dawn FM anyways.

I loved this album but listening to it again now makes me notice how much he’s grown as an artist since then, and how I love his After Hours and Dawn FM eras even more. I’m happy this is having a resurgence, but I wish it wasn’t happening in place of a Dawn FM hit.
That aside, this was not my favorite choice for a Pop single when it was released as one in 2017, and I’d still prefer “Secrets” or “Rockin” having a moment instead of this.

I love this and adore the Starboy album but this is such a weird move.

Iconic, as the entire Starboy album was from day one.
I also am obsessed with this trend of old songs charting and being played on current pop radio. Why should the age of a song stop it from eventually having its moment?

I think Starboy is his worst project, although I still really like it even with all of the filler, but this has always been one of my favorites. I'd love to see what they do with this and how far it can go.

What?
I love this song, but this seems really weird. I'll take it though, but what the hell about Less Tnan Zero - everybody agrees that's a smash in waiting.

I'd love to see what they do with this and how far it can go. Starboy was his most upbeat album for sure. Which is why it’s a shock that the slow tempo song becomes a hit all these years later. I always felt like the era needed just one more big hit to feel validated, and now that it’s a possibility is a good storybook ending for that era. I even question whether “Starboy” ends up becoming a bigger album than After Hours years down the line.

But that goes for most of his projects.

An impact date is expected to happen this month as far as I'm concerned based on this HITS article, if not as of next week.

Out Of Time is boring lol at least this isn't 80's pop redux and will get its shot after being canceled for top 40 adds 5 years ago. The only catchy song on Dawn FM is Less Than Zero

Better this than anything left on the current album. Starboy is still my favorite Abel LP.

This performance was probably the loudest the stadium got last night at his show, it's insane how well known this song is despite never being a huge hit during its initial run.

AllAccess email on "Die for You": "Finally, THE WEEKND adds his name to a growing list of performers whose earlier works are seeing a renaissance, as "Die For You" (XO/Republic) from the singer's last album, Starboy, returns to radio. A Top 15 hit Rhythm and R&B in 2017-18, the song has continued to enjoy massive consumption, climbing back into the Top 25 on SPOTIFY and approaching 700M U.S. streams."

Technically this could read as a single from his compilation greatest hits release. Sort of smart to push this although he’s kind of in the middle of an era

Here for "High For This" or "Wicked Games" blowing up next if we're really going to revisit potential hits from the vault.
