I disagree: at least last I checked, the point of the predictions thread was to try to guess off early intuition what would happen, since you get penalized for guesses later on the week. Simm, on the other hand, actually factors in formal factors of stats to produce accurate results accounting for rounding and margins because of imperfect data (namely sales, airplay, and the nebulous field that is programmed streams) and he actually updates his projections as more data comes in. In other words to "predict", to "guess" and to have contests and games. Some don't call that chart discussion "simm" is just an extension of that and an excuse to move the prediction games here However, I get that I am in the minority as most people prefer this

^ I wouldn't count on it at this point. But the fact that it's set for the Year-End is enough for me. Anyway, I think simm is the only person to predict What About Us to fall right out of the Top 20. I mean, I could've sworn I saw some predictions here expecting it to enter the Top 10! Not only that, but he's the only one I've seen predict Perfect for Top 10. Well, we'll find out in two hours! Why are we even getting these 'simm' projections? Last week, it was way off. Who is this person and why should we care? Perhaps, it can be posted in the predictions section. Well he got it perfect this week soo

I would actually prefer if people didn't post them in here and instead posted them in the actual predictions thread.. I'm being a little selfish but I actually think seeing predictions ruins the fun of waiting for the top 10 (and watching the countdown), and anyone who cares about predictions will already be active in that prediction thread anyway so there is little need for them here I agree but... The majority though prefer the prediction games and contests that happen here each week. Because every chart now has a prediction thread in the chart discussion forum, chart discussion turns from actually discussing the charts to: Expressing amazement that OMG #8 was predicted for a song but it came in #7 If a song can only hang on one more week it might rise to #93 on the year end chart <Insert song here> because it charted at #47 this week it is now the 83rd biggest song of the decade! woo-hoo Feel free to throw in some actual chart discussion along the way to keep things interesting. As a chart freak (or at least this is how I consider myself) I love to see how the songs moves every week, and not only in the weekly charts, it includes year end and decade charts. I don't get how the people get annoyed with that, if you don't like, don't watch, it's super easy! Let the other people enjoy the things they enjoy and enjoy the things you enjoy. Super easy!

Yeah, looking at it that way the predictions thread is a guessing game that belongs in the Games section, and Simm's predictions should be the sole prediction posted in that thread. But I agree with Gary, I'm in the minority here so I'll just continue scrolling past discussion on predictions

There is a person there who knows how to find Billboard article/video links before they go live on the public site (they used to share the actual links - now it looks like they're just posting the actual positions). They've been legit for the last few weeks; no reason to doubt these.

Anyway, I was able to find it myself just now. I used the title for the Top 10 countdown video that Billboard usually uploads on YouTube and simply replace the date then Google it and found it here, so I believe that's how he was able to find it.

This evolves into nearly constant discussion about how songs are moving up or down year-end charts that start the very day prior year-end charts are published. and decade charts that are a couple years away from being published. As that is what the majority wants, I realize I am in the minority - so be it.

Post Malone & 21 Savage Lead Hot 100, Camila Cabello & Ed Sheeran Hit Top 10
10/30/2017 by Gary Trust
Rockstar" rules for a third week, while "Havana" & "Perfect" soar to the top tier. Post Malone's "Rockstar," featuring 21 Savage, tallies a third week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated Nov. 11). Meanwhile, two songs surge to the top 10: Camila Cabello's "Havana," featuring Young Thug, bounds 20-7 and Ed Sheeran's "Perfect" pounces 18-10.
As we do every Monday, let's run down the top 10 of the Hot 100, which blends all-genre streaming, airplay and sales data. All charts will update on Billboard.com tomorrow (Oct. 31). "Rockstar," released on Republic Records, logs a fifth (nonconsecutive) week at No. 1 on the Streaming Songs chart with 53 million U.S. streams (down 2 percent), in the week ending Oct. 26, according to Nielsen Music. It dips 2-4 on Digital Song Sales (which it led for a week), down 4 percent to 52,000 downloads sold in the week ending Oct. 26, and jumps 26-19 on Radio Songs with 56 million in all-format audience (up 16 percent) in the week ending Oct. 29.
"Rockstar" concurrently leads the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts for a third week each. Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow" holds at No. 2 on the Hot 100 for a third week following three weeks at No. 1. It keeps at No. 2 on Streaming Songs (38.6 million, down 8 percent) and falls 5-8 on Digital Song Sales (33,000, down 11 percent) and 10-11 on Radio Songs (71 million, down 3 percent). Logic's "1-800-273-8255," featuring Alessia Cara and Khalid, is stationary at its No. 3 Hot 100 high. It holds at No. 3 on Streaming Songs (29.3 million, down 6 percent), while rising 6-4 on Radio Songs (88 million, up 5 percent).
Portugal. The Man's "Feel It Still" keeps at its No. 4 Hot 100 peak while crowning Radio Songs for a third week (128 million, up 11 percent). The track tops Hot Rock Songs for a fifth week and the Adult Pop Songs airplay chart for a third week and takes over atop the Pop Songs airplay list (2-1), where it's the group's first No. 1.
Rounding out the Hot 100's top five, Imagine Dragons' "Thunder" repeats at its No. 5 Hot 100 high. It slips to No. 2 after two (nonconsecutive) weeks atop Digital Song Sales (60,000, down 10 percent) and becomes the band's fourth top 10 on Radio Songs, where it charges 14-7 (81 million, up 16 percent).
Demi Lovato hits another new career high on the Hot 100, as "Sorry Not Sorry" rises 7-6. On Radio Songs, it pushes 7-4 (88 million, up 8 percent).
Camila Cabello's "Havana," featuring Young Thug, blasts 20-7 on the Hot 100. Following the Oct. 24 release of its official video (aka #HavanaTheMovie, clocking in at 6:42 long), the song lifts 6-4 on Digital Song Sales (42,000, up 20 percent); concurrently hits the Streaming Songs top 10 (18-8; 24.4 million, up 38 percent); and jumps 36-26 on Radio Songs (48 million, up 28 percent). Cabello collects her second Hot 100 top 10 as a soloist and first as the sole lead artist; "Bad Things," with Machine Gun Kelly, hit No. 4 in February. (As a member of Fifth Harmony, she reached the top 10 with last year's No. 4-peaking "Work From Home," featuring Ty Dolla $ign.)
Young Thug tallies his first Hot 100 top 10, among 21 entries dating to his first in 2014.
Cabello (born in Cojimar, Eastern Havana, Cuba) also charts the fourth Hot 100 top 10 this year whose title doubles as the name of a city. It follows prior trips to the top 10 for "Paris" by The Chainsmokers (No. 6 peak in March); "Portland" by Drake (No. 9, April); and "Malibu" by Miley Cyrus (No. 10, June).
J Balvin and Willy William's "Mi Gente," featuring Beyonce, descends 6-8 on the Hot 100 after hitting No. 3, while spending a fourth week at No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs, and Sam Smith's "Too Good at Goodbyes" slips 8-9 on the Hot 100 after reaching No. 5 (upon its Sept. 30 debut).
Capping the Hot 100's top 10, Ed Sheeran soars 18-10 with "Perfect." The ballad gains in all metrics, holding at No. 3 on Digital Song Sales (53,000, up 7 percent) and climbing 30-22 on Radio Songs (53 million, up 16 percent) and 35-27 on Streaming Songs (13.1 million, up 14 percent).
Sheeran scores his sixth Hot 100 top 10, with half logged this year from his alum ÷, following "Shape of You" (12 weeks at No. 1) and "Castle on the Hill" (No. 6). His three previous top 10s (all from his last album, X): "Don't" (No. 9, 2014); "Thinking Out Loud" (No. 2, 2015); and "Photograph" (No. 10, 2015).
Notably, Sheeran earns his ninth Hot 100 top 10 as a writer, as, in addition to his own six, he co-penned Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself" (No. 1 for two weeks in 2016); Major Lazer's "Cold Water," featuring Bieber and MO (No. 2, 2016); and Liam Payne's "Strip That Down," featuring Quavo (No. 10, September). Meanwhile, Sheeran's older brother, Matthew, co-wrote "Perfect" and achieves a top 10 in his first Hot 100 appearance as a writer.
Find out more Hot 100 news in the weekly "Hot 100 Chart Moves" column and by listening (and subscribing) to Billboard's Chart Beat Podcast and Pop Shop Podcast, all posting this week. And again, be sure to visit Billboard.com tomorrow (Oct. 24), when all charts, including the Hot 100 in its entirety, will refresh. The Hot 100 and other charts will also appear in the next issue of Billboard magazine, on sale Friday (Nov. 3).

Chart Watch: With Niall Horan at No. 1, 1D ties the Beatles
Paul Grein Writer Yahoo MusicOctober 30, 2017
Niall Horan becomes the third past or present member of One Direction to land a No. 1 solo album as Flicker enters the Billboard 200 in the top spot. Zayn’s Mind of Mine debuted at No. 1 in April 2016, and Harry Styles’s Harry Styles opened at No. 1 in June of this year.
Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and John Lennon all topped the album chart in a 17-month period between May 1970 and October 1971. Zayn, Styles, and Horan have achieved the feat in a 19-month period starting in April 2016. The solo Beatles were a bit older than the solo 1D members when they landed their first No. 1 albums as solo artists. McCartney and Harrison were both 27. Lennon was 31. By contrast, Zayn and Styles were both 23. Horan is 24. (Of course, The Beatles had been together longer than 1D when they started releasing solo albums.)
Flicker includes both of Horan’s top 20 hits, “This Town” and “Slow Hands.” Flicker is the first album by a 1D alum to spawn two top 20 (or even top 40) hits. The fact that Horan’s hits are so different—a heartfelt pop ballad and a funky, rhythmic tune—says a lot about his versatility.
With Horan hitting No. 1 in the same calendar year as Styles, this is the first time that two past or present members of a group have hit No. 1 on their own in the same calendar year since 2006, when two former members of Destiny’s Child achieved the feat. LeToya Luckett’s LeToya debuted at No. 1 that August, six weeks before Beyoncé’s B’Day debuted at No. 1.
Two former Beatles each had No. 1 albums on their own in the same calendar year three times. Harrison’s triple-disc opus All Things Must Pass spent seven weeks at No. 1 in January and February 1971. Lennon’s Imagine spent a week at No. 1 that October. McCartney and Wings’ Red Rose Speedway had three weeks at No. 1 in June 1973. Harrison’s Living in the Material World replaced it at No. 1 in June, staying on top for a total of five weeks. McCartney and Wings’ Band on the Run had four non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 from April to July 1974. Lennon’s Walls and Bridges hit No. 1 that November.
Note: I’m not counting “supergroups” such as Traveling Wilburys. Three members of that group—Harrison, Bob Dylan and Tom Petty—have landed No. 1 albums. Flicker enters The Official U.K. Albums Chart at No. 3. It failed to match the solo debut albums by Zayn and Harry Styles, both of which reached No. 1 in the U.K. The other two founding members of 1D, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson, have yet to release their first solo albums.
Top Songs
Post Malone’s “Rockstar” (featuring 21 Savage) logs its third week at No. 1 on the Hot 100. “Rockstar” also holds at No. 1 for the fourth week on the Official U.K. Singles Chart. It’s the third song to spend three or more weeks at No. 1 in both the U.S. and the U.K. so far this year. It follows Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” and Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” (featuring Justin Bieber). “Rockstar” also logs its third week at No. 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” holds at No. 2 in its 17th week. The song logged three weeks at No. 1. Logic’s “1-800-273-8255” (featuring Alessia Cara & Khalid) holds at No. 3 in its 26th week. Portugal. The Man’s “Feel It Still” holds at No. 4 in its 19th week. The song is No. 1 on Top Rock Songs for the fifth week. Imagine Dragons’ “Thunder” holds at No. 5 in its 26th week. Demi Lovato’s “Sorry Not Sorry” inches up from No. 7 to No. 6 in its 16th week.
Camila Cabello lands her second top 10 hit as a solo artist as “Havana” (featuring Young Thug) jumps from No. 20 to No. 7 in its 11th week. “Bad Things,” her collabo with Machine Gun Kelly, hit No. 4 in February. This is Young Thug’s first top 10 hit.
J Balvin & Willy William’s “Mi Gente” (featuring Beyoncé) drops from No. 6 to No. 8 in its 17th week. Three weeks ago, it tied Lady Gaga’s “Telephone” as Beyoncé’s highest-charting featured credit. “Telephone” reached No. 3 in April 2010.
Sam Smith’s “Too Good at Goodbyes” dips from No. 8 to No. 9 in its seventh week. The song has climbed as high as No. 5. Ed Sheeran lands his sixth top 10 hit as “Perfect” jumps from No. 18 to No. 10 in its ninth week.
French Montana’s “Unforgettable” (featuring Swae Lee) and Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” drop out of the top 10 this week. Taylor Swift lands her 39rd top 20 hit on the Hot 100 as “Gorgeous” debuts at No. 13. Only two female solo artists have had as many or more top 20 hits. Madonna leads with 44, followed by Rihanna with 42. “Gorgeous” sold 68K digital copies, which enables it to enter Top Digital Songs at No. 1. It’s Swift’s 14th No. 1 on that chart, which puts Swift in a tie with Rihanna for the most No. 1 hits in the chart’s history (which dates to October 2004).
Kane Brown’s “What Ifs” (featuring Lauren Alaina) is No. 1 for the third week on Hot Country Songs. “What Ifs” is the first collaboration to top the country chart since Kenny Chesney’s “Setting the World on Fire” (featuring P!nk) a year ago.
Kendrick Lamar’s “Humble.” tops the 1 million mark in digital sales this week. The song was Lamar’s first No. 1 hit as a lead artist.
Top Albums
Future and Young Thug’s collaborative mixtape, Super Slimey, debuts at No. 2. It’s Future’s eighth top 10 album; Young Thug’s fourth. Young Thug is featured on Camila Cabello’s terrific new hit, “Havana.” P!nk’s Beautiful Trauma drops from No. 1 to No. 3 in its second week.
Post Malone’s Stoney holds at its No. 4 peak in its 46th week.
Chris Young’s Losing Sleep debuts at No. 5. It’s his fourth consecutive non-holiday studio album to crack the top five. The album enters Top Country Albums at No. 1, displacing Jessie James Decker’s Southern Girl City Lights. It’s Young’s second No. 1 country album.
Gucci Mane’s Mr. Davis drops from No. 2 to No. 6 in its second week.
Ed Sheeran’s ÷ dips from No. 6 to No. 7 in its 34th week. The album spent its first two weeks at No. 1.
Darius Rucker’s When Was the Last Time debuts at No. 8. It’s his fifth consecutive non-holiday studio album to crack the top 10. Rucker also had three top 10 albums with Hootie & the Blowfish.
Lil Uzi Vert’s first full-length album, Luv Is Rage 2, drops from No. 5 to No. 9 in its ninth week. The album debuted at No. 1.
Demi Lovato’s Tell Me You Love Me rebounds from No. 13 to No. 10 in its fourth week, fueled by the success of “Sorry Not Sorry.” The album debuted and peaked at No. 3. Five albums drop out of the top 10 this week. Beck’s Colors drops from No. 3 to No. 36. Lil Pump’s Lil Pump drops from No. 9 to No. 12. Imagine Dragons’ Evolve drops from No. 7 to No. 11. A Boogie Wit da Hoodie’s The Bigger Artist drops from No. 8 to No. 15. St. Vincent’s Masseductiontumbles from No. 10 to No. 95.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ Greatest Hits holds at No. 17 in its 238th chart week. Greatest Hits holds at No. 1 on Top Catalog Albums for the fifth non-consecutive week. The Moana soundtrack drops from No. 33 to No. 38 in its 49th week. The album peaked at No. 2. It’s No. 1 on Top Soundtracks for the 27th week.
George Michael’s Listen without Prejudice/MTV Unplugged debuts at No. 41. The original Listen without Prejudice, Vol. 1, which contained the hit singles “Praying for Time” and “Freedom! ’90” peaked at No. 2 in October 1990. (It couldn’t get past M.C. Hammer’s blockbuster Please Hammer Don’t Hurt ‘Em.) The new package enters The Official U.K. Albums Chart at No. 1. It’s the second deluxe reissue of a vintage album to top the U.K. chart so far this year. The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band achieved the feat in June. The original Listen without Prejudice hit No. 1 in the U.K. in September 1990.
Nickelback’s 2005 album All The Right Reasons tops the 8 million mark in traditional album sales this week. The album debuted at No. 1 and spawned three top 10 singles (“Photograph,” “Far Away” and “Rockstar”). Nickelback gets beat up by the critics. But, as you can see, they have a fan base.
Coming Attractions: Look for Kenny Chesney’s Live in No Shoes Nation to debut at No. 1 next week. Also due: Kelly Clarkson’s Meaning of Life, Weezer’s Pacific Daydream and Yo Gotti’s I Still Am.

More than OK with Havana entering the top 10. Liked Perfect although it reminds me of Thinking Out Loud for some reason...
Logic's 1-800 song is growing on me even though I'm still not a fan with his whoos.
Will admit that after hearing a bit of Cardi B's song that she isn't bad on the mic. Still not a huge fan of the song.
And Unforgettable is growing on me a bit as well.

OK I hate to take the bait here but honestly if a song would rise to 93 (or anywhere in the 90's) on the year end chart with one more week that's actually really exciting. If you'd said 44 or something like that it would be different but this year there's been a few really intense cases of songs that if they can just get that one last week might just be pushed in year end territory, with probably the most intense example being The Fighter which had an all over the place chart run, seemed like it was still gaining after 20 weeks, got killed by that July 29 week with 5 top 50 debuts just short of the projected cutoff, and then came back two weeks later and as of now the fate of that song is completely ambiguous. As a chart watcher that ranked very high in terms of excitement this year. No Promises has also been a real nail-biter.

Suffice it to say, you made my point for me. Don't get me wrong though, I love the year end chart, my favorite time of the year. As we are getting closer to that time, this next comment won't mean much but using your example a chart move in July and its impact on its impact on year-end chart positioning are the type of posts I was talking about. But like I said, I recognize I am in the minority. Most llke daily discussion of year-end charts all year long...I get it.
