Not a fan of these songs. I agree with SPREE. I think she's trying too hard with this effort.

Y'all stop with the "Bad Blood" hate. Do you remember that "Welcome To New York" was on '1989'? This is one of Taylor's worst songs ever (probably the worst), one of Ryan Tedder's worst songs ever. I can't even imagine how many people who tried to listen to the album immediately skipped just because of the opener. However, I'm thankful it exists cause I know that I'm not THAT delusional. She put her voice in a terrible song and I'm happy that she's released something (post 2012) that I hate. Yes, we need to remind people that there are reasonable Taylor stans like us! Seriously though, "Welcome to New York" is one of the worst tracks on 1989 along with " All You Had to Do Was Stay" and "You Are In Love". I also don't really care for the original version of "Bad Blood" anymore (I liked it somewhat when 1989 originally came out, but as soon as the remix came out, I was like #bye), the remix version is so much better. Whaaat that song is my jam!

I don't think it will have any trouble going Top 10, maybe Top 5. The holiday freeze nears on radio and the Hot 100 premium streaming point change will shake things up. Streamers will skew older. The Swifties have downloaded. Maybe she can get another Top 3 out of it if she never streams it. That is probably the plan.

Tell me I'm not the only one hearing this:
When she says "drinking on the beach", is there a weird editing thing in the middle of the word "beach"? Because it almost sounds like it's two syllables and hard to figure out what the word is.

Damn! Yeah they better just let this one take off and let “...Ready For It” do whatever. I feel like if they try to hold off it’ll end up hurting it in the long run. (It wasn’t announced as a single yet, right?). Single-wise, they need to get the era back on track. (Not saying the era is a mess, just that it’s had a rocky start compared to expectations with its singles).

Bad Blood always seemed like an obvious single to me and a smash hit despite people not seeming to like it on Pulse. At least, I remember then and now people saying they didn't really like it. I feel the same way about End Game. Like, it sounds like an obvious hit to me in ways that LWYMMD and Ready for It were not. I am hesitant to predict that it will be a #1 smash because things are weird this era for Taylor, but I could not imagine them going for anything else as single #3 at this point.

I’m sure this will be a Top 3 Hit, but I don’t like this at all. The chorus is so lame and the entire song in general is melodically mundane. Kind of a waste of two big-name features. I’m not entirely sure what the point of this song is either lyrically.

Wow this isn't even a single (yet) and is getting crazy updates already! Radio is choosing this as a single, much like they chose "Love Yourself" and "Dark Horse" before they were official singles.

If by thesis you mean she’s actively trying to end her own career then sure

If by thesis you mean she’s actively trying to end her own career then sure I honestly have no clue what you're talking about. I'm hoping you're not admitting you haven't given over to the catchy smash that is End Game, cause you're missing out bro.

I wonder how this will do when released on iTunes.
Will it fly to #1 like how all those repressed singles in the mid 2000s that got airplay before being released to buy did?

Katy must be so jealous of the straights on her team that pick the correct singles when shit's about to go south :kii: .

In Katy's case, radio wasn't interested in ANY of her songs after CTTR though so they didn't help

This will smash. It was one of the album's instants for me and its reception off Pulse has been glowing from what I have seen. It reminds me of "Bad Blood" in the way that it was also instant for me and an obvious single, yet was universally disliked on Pulse (we saw how that turned out). lol

Y'all hate "Bad Blood" but it was the one I had on repeat when '1989' came out, along with "Blank Space". It's an earworm. The lyrics are bad but it's so catchy.

Now I'd like a music video premiere at the AMAs (which won't happen). BUT I'll even take a November 24th release. That'd be such a great boost along with the streams from the album and the radio performance. Let's just hope the radio will keep playing this a lot.

I'm obsessed with the Taylor verse for some reason. I still prefer "Don't Blame Me" by miles (and hope it gets single treatment), but I see this becoming one of my favourites. What a surprise, lmao. Hope it does well and serves some longevity and she can release follow-ups.
