Well, I'm about to dig myself a big grave with this controversial opinion.
25. All About That Bass by Meghan Trainor
YE Position: #28
Yeah, I think I really would call this a guilty pleasure, whereas everyone else would rather burn me a heretic for liking it, but is it all that bad? Yes, many will criticize this has a skinny shaming songs, but there isn't really that much, except for that one line about skinny bitches, and that's it. I'm not a big fan of the "fat acceptance" movement, especially since SJWs recently hijacked that like they normally do, but to be fair, fat people have gotten a lot of flack for years, and as someone who was teased for it by my older brother no less, I don't think this song needs all the hate it's gotten. It's not that bad, I do love it, the production is good and Meghan Trainor is no where near as annoying as so many say it is. That reminds me, what do people have against artists trying to do 50s bubblegum pop or 80s funk again? I actually think some artists can emulate it pretty damn well tbh.

24. One Last Time by Ariana Grande
YE Position: #67
I really love the contrast between the subtle verses, and the bombast of the chorus, both production and vocal wise for Ariana. And as much as I do love this song, I don't think it was ever her best song in 2015, and you all know what it is I'm guessing.

Believe it or not, I am also one of the few who actually loves All About That Bass and Lips Are Movin'. Seriously, people. I don't think Meghan Trainor is annoying as many say she is.

23. Drag Me Down by One Direction
YE Position: #65
For some reason, I think Zayn leaving actually made One Direction better, especially on their last album. I'll be honest, I never really hated One Direction all that much, even if they were your basic, cookie-cutter boy band. But they have had a number of hits that I really liked, such as Kiss You, Best Song Ever and The Story Of My Life. But I honestly think that Drag Me Down is one of their best song yet, with a great guitar melody in the beginning, all the boys have great voices, especially when they try to harmonize in the chorus. And the production is by far their most complex, and so is their lyrics, being about an ex love, who won't drag them down. Kind of funny tho, because I thought this song was a diss track to Zayn at first, about how him leaving wasn't going to drag the band down and break up. And look what we got later in 2016 and 2017. Wonderful, thanks for that by the way. :sip2:

The fact that I think Drag Me Down is their best song probably makes me agree with everything you just said above, lol.

I know gravey doesn't really like this artist, but I know he likes this song, so take what you can get, I guess.
22. Talking Body by Tove Lo
YE Position: #37
I love how the verses are just slow and kind of chill. But that chorus is fire, and totally ecstatic. Tove Lo has always been a good singer imo, especially on Heroes, and Habits (Stay High) but I think her voice is better on here than in any other song. One of the things I really like is how much energy this song has, especially in the chorus, only for it to slow down and the production to go almost mute in the bridge, only to pick back up in that drop in the chorus. It's a damn great song with energy, and charisma.

21. Heartbeat Song by Kelly Clarkson
YE Position: #91
You know, listening to Meaning Of Life and Piece By Piece has really made me miss pop-rock Kelly even more. Not to say that this song, or the albums were bad, per-say, but her best work has, and always will be back in the mid-2000s with songs like Since U Been Gone and Behind These Hazel Eyes being some of her best works. But to be fair, Kelly still has had a lot of great songs well after her peak with songs that I really love. My Life Would Suck Without You, Already Gone, Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You) and especially Piece By Piece. Heartbeat Song might not be my favorite song off the album, but it is pretty high, and I do think this is a good comeback song, at least that's how I view it. It has good synth-pop production, and Kelly's voice is great as always. I don't really have a problem, even if it is a semi-self empowering female anthem.

I agree. Heartbeat Song is amazing even by Kelly Clarkson's low standards. I don't really get the hate for that song. It's just sad because I really like it. :/

20. Time Of Our Lives by Pitbull ft. Ne-Yo
YE Position: #39
I actually think this might be better than Give Me Everything, the last major hit when these guys collaborated together, that I can think of. I actually like how much energy this song has, I think it's a better dance song than Give Me Everything is. The lyrics are basically what Cheap Thrills basically was, a song about not needing money to have fun, something I'm sure plenty of people who are strapped for cash can relate to. The production is great, Ne-Yo's hook is fantastic, and Hell, I even enjoy Pitbull's verses and the bridge. It's just pure fun, with a relatable message about being strapped for cash. Now your probably wondering, why I didn't rank this any higher. Well...

19. Love Me Harder by Ariana Grande ft. The Weeknd
YE Position: #56
I'd like to say that THIS was the song that put The Weeknd on the map. Collaborating with a well known female pop song, to make a great love song was the best idea ever. The production is great, Ariana can definitely sell sultry and sexy, unlike other childhood actresses and actors, and the way both her and The Weeknd sound and deliver on this is just great. I would very much prefer Ariana Grande sulty, then Demi or even Selena. Speaking of Demi...

18. Cool For The Summer by Demi Lovato
YE Position: #53
This song is just great mostly on a production level, because it's a perfect mix of pop-rock, and it's certainly some of the best that Demi has ever done. The lyrics might cross some people's nerves as it is similar to I Kissed A Girl on that level. But while Katy was selling lesbian experimentation as cutesy, Demi is selling it more as sexual and actually sounds sexy and enjoys it. But again, the production is what makes this song, it's catchy, great, and a perfect blend of pop and rock. Also, this deserved to be a bigger hit, I mean like top 5 Summer jam.

Presenting Hey Mickey part 2!
17. Shake It Off by Taylor Swift
YE Position: #18
The production is fantastic, and a definite standout on 1989. About the lyrics, kissing off to her haters, the way I see it, is it's just Taylor Swift trying to have fun. I love the production, Taylor sounds as great as always, and that chorus is just pure, unadulterated fun. Many people may hate this, but to me, I could just shake it off.

16. Cheerleader by OMI (Felix Jaehn Remix)
YE Position: #11
I'd like to credit this song for actually staring the trend of eventual tropical house and reggae that utterly dominated in 2016. But then again, this is a pretty damn great song, with amazing trumpets, great production and yes I don't even mind the auto-tune and vocal effects on OMI's voice. The lyrics may not be that good, but I think it's the bridge that is the strongest about wanting to make this girl his wife. It has it's sweet side and it is pretty enduring. But then again, I see this, especially the remix as more of a dance song, and one I really enjoy. Also I know gravey likes this song, but at least it made the top 20, that's gotta count for something.

15. Ghost by Ella Henderson
YE Position: #93
I love the 80s pop and soul influences on this song. The chorus is catchy, the claps are amazing, Ella has a great voice, and I really love the ghost metaphor if you think about it. Also, the guitar that's placed in the mix sound amazing. Ella Henderson would have been my pick for best new artust, and I think she deserves a second hit. Because if Mike Posner can get a comeback hit in 2016, years after Cooler Than Me was a hit, Ella Henderson can prove just how much potential she has, and this is example A.

14. Style by Taylor Swift
YE Position: #29
Do I have to explain why this song is great, I think we all pretty much agree why this is amazing? Okay, well maybe I should explain that it is NOT my favorite song by Taylor Swift, Hell, it's not even my top 5 favorite songs off of 1989 or even in her discography. But I won't deny that this is a great song though, because it is. The guitar melody is awesome, the synth-pop is great, the chorus is catchy, and for some reason, her selling a more sultry side worked on this. Also, I've noticed this song has gotten played as soft rock on Music Choice for me, and I don't see the soft rock at all on this.

13. Centuries by Fall Out Boy
YE Position: #43
Fall Out Boy has always been my favorite band, so having them get a top 10 hit for the first time in years was amazing news for me. I love everything about this, the production is great, the vocals are some of Pat Stump's best, and the song is a great anthem. I have only hated a few of FOB's songs, like Young Volcanoes and pretty much all the singles from Mania, but this is some FOB that I personally enjoy.

DJ Snake.
12. You Know You Like It by DJ Snake ft. AlunuaGeorge
YE Position: #59
I have mentioned in the past that DJ Snake is one of my favorite EDM artists, making songs like Turn Down For What and Lean On. And as much as I love Lean On, (Trust me, we'll get to that.) I actually think this is DJ Snake's best song. Lean On is great, but I see it more as Major Lazer and MO's than it is his own. But this is still an amazing song, nonetheless. The production is fantastically cryptic, the vocals are spot on, and the chorus is just amazing. That drop is one of the best drops of the entire decade, no joke. Everything about this is great, and I'm not even in the top 10 yet.

Presenting Michael Jackson's best impersonator.
11. Can't Feel My Face by The Weeknd
YE Position: #12
This is such a great pop track, and a great #1 hit. I really love everything about this production and The Weeknd's voice is spot-on! It totally reminds me of Michael Jackson in a way. And yet, as much as I love this, it just missed the top 10. Still, it's a great track nonetheless.

Centuries and You Know You Like It are awesome. I agree with you when you said it's the best DJ Snake song (sorry Lean On and Let Me Love You, you're great but not on this level).
I was never able to get into Can't Feel My Face, though. I couldn't stand it back in 2015. Time hasn't done much for it either.

Let's start this with some EDM/trap.
10. Lean On by Major Lazer X DJ Snake ft. MO
YE Position: #16
I talked about this in my 2016 review, and my thoughts have not changed in the slightest. This is still a damn great song, with amazing production, great vocals, and MO just rocks this song. Easily the bets thing MO has ever done, and Major Lazer completely redeemed themselves for the shit like Bubble Butt.
