It was fun watching this unlikely #1 sneak into the top spot, probably the last time I followed a song like this to the top was "I Wanna Go." I hope this has more longevity.

A top ten peak on the Hot 100 would have been great, but at the end of the day the most important thing is that this single, along with the tour, had kept the album alive and strong. Reputation is #14 in its 36th week, was #15 last week, and is predicted to be #13 next week. That’s phenomenal for almost any album but especially one people had written off as a slump era. Taylor has always been an album artist and this song has helped that tradition continue. Plus Delicate is going to rise to the top of the AC chart and probably stay near the top there for the rest of the year ensuring good longevity.

Hoping for a new single announcement in the next week or two.
Also, it only lost .200 AI overall today. If it can keep its losses that minimal for the rest of the week it could be fine.

It's more about getting over that last hurdle into the top 10 on the Hot 100 at this point. Any decrease in overall radio AI is detrimental to achieving this if there's no improvements to be had in sales and streaming. |

I’m actually ok with her not releasing the next single yet. Delicate seems to be able to hold up on overall AI so longevity in the charts do her well. Although she would still need Spotify and iTunes to stay steady.

I'm really happy how far this has come, it will probably not peak in the Top 10 but that's fine. A #12 peak isn't bad, especially when there's been 7 songs to get stuck at #11 this year, really showcases how stagnant the chart has been in 2018. Lots of competition.
Hey, it also made it to #1 on Pop, which is much further than I thought it would go. So congrats on another hit Taylor!

This crashing too doesn't make sense. I know it had some help getting to the top, but the callouts are good? Callouts were always better on HAC and AC. On Pop they went from good enough to justify a short time at #1 to good enough that hitting #1 would be uncontroversial but missing #1 and only getting top 3-5 would also be uncontroversial. On HAC the callouts justified several weeks at #1 and on AC I think they also justify spending time at #1 (familiarity is still a bit lot on AC though so we'll see how callouts evolve). When it became apparent this would reach top 3 on Pop and #1 on HAC, I was hoping for top 10 on Hot 100 and #1 on overall AI so it's a little disappointing to see it fall just short of both. However, way back when Delicate was released I was just hoping for top 10 on Pop and Top 20-25 on Hot 100 so I'm still happy with how it's performed. Now... time to see how high it can go on AC, and if it can finally dethrone Perfect since The Middle seems to be struggling to do so. Also curious to see if this can outperform LWYMMD on the Year End charts/total Hot 100 points. And curious to see how streams hold up as it drops on radio. Will it still be streamed at higher rates than LWYMMD, IDWLF and Shake It Off or will it eventually fall behind? |
