I don't think this era can be turned around, so I expect a very middling performance at radio. But it is without a doubt the correct single choice.

I don't think this era can be turned around, so I expect a very middling performance at radio. But it is without a doubt the correct single choice. This. After jumping on three singles that didn't stick, especially over a rather short period of time, they've used every bit of hype they had coming into this project. The Red period had a 4th single that gradually became a mid-sized hit after 22 stalled momentum, but she wasn't at such a saturation point (not to mention the polarizing/bad callout over and over) as she is now. But that said, every other song on the album would do worse than whatever this will by this point. If this sinks fast, they should just stop sending singles to radio until next year with the next lead or a soundtrack cut (which might be a good palate cleanser after this campaign). |

This song has at the very least a more radio-friendly sound then the last three singles. Not sure how call-outs will be, I played it for three of my pop-loving friends and all of them were pretty meh to it.

If this (sadly) fails, I still think they'll release a remix of IDSB for summer/tour and then call it quits.
Everyone I've played this for loves it, so if it gets bad call-outs, I think it's just people reacting negatively to Taylor and not the song.

Great song, possibly the best on the entire cd and one of the better ones for marrying 1989 and Reputation together. However, I don't think it will do much unless she has a truly special video that really sparks it and possibly some promo as well which isn't going to happen lol.

YAS. Cannot wait to hear this on the radio. It’s a real nice, chill bop. A contender for the best off the album along with GC and DBM. Thank goodness they went with this. I was seriously concerned they’d go with IDSB. I feel like this should at least get her back in radio’s graces. However, Taylor will need to have a good video and promote if she wants to spark some interest back into the era (which already feels dead tbh).

Finally. And a good single choice for once. If it was anything but this it would’ve been a bad choice. I can see this either smashing hard or just having good longevity with a 15-20 peak on the Hot 100. I don’t see it flopping hard, especially if there’s a good music video.

I think this could be a turnaround for her. Appropriately the song itself kind of represents that. “This ain’t for the best. My reputation’s never been worse so you must like me for me.” Let’s hope this bears out.

I love this song. I dont see it doing much chart-wise but at least it wont do further damage like, let's say, I Did Something Bad would have. After this i want Dont Blame Me, Dress and New Years Day, in that order!
