Well, that finally concludes our time here with Wintertime Madness! This is probably the most creative idea I've ever had, and I am not really creative (says the person majoring in marketing). I like to think it went pretty well though! A few bumps in the road, but we made it here alive. This quietly reached 100 pages, something only a few rankdowns have ever done (though, it was five mini-rankdowns lol). Thank you all for participating and sending in songs! There was a lot of drama since this is an all-genre game and no one has the same tastes, but we didn't kill each other, so that's nice! As for what's next, we will be reverting back to the tournament style for March Madness, which I hope to open up by the end of the week. I will have my trusty sidekick Az with me to help like he has in previous tournaments. While I loved this idea, I don't plan on sticking with it due to time constraints, and for the fact that I want to keep the original tournaments alive. I may end up doing a Madness rankdown again in the future for a special edition, but not for the main ones. As it was kind of evident with this one, I have been insanely busy this whole semester with work, classes, and (somewhat of a) social life, so doing hosting major rankdowns like this has been sort of stressful for me. The tournaments are a lot more laid-back since it's not as much maintenance, and I am able to utilize Az for them. March Madness will be a bit different this go-round. I plan on using less songs and 24-hour time frames due to the fact that Summertime Madness' longevity really ruined a lot of things. So I have to make cuts where necessary. Some self-promo: even though I said I won't be hosting major rankdowns anymore, I am opening up a personal rankdown tonight: James' "Indie" Rankdown, Vol. 1., so participate if you want to see my lovely posts again. Thanks for hosting Pollen ! It was so much fun and full of discoveries. You probably put in a lot of work into this, and I for one really appreciate it! I'm looking forward to March Madness! Oh yeah, congrats to YotamTS for having one of his picks win the whole thing (even though I ranked it at #37)! |

How is Free overrated though..? I ranked it #26 in Seed 1. It ended up #1. I ranked it #25 in the Top 10s. It finished #2. You figure it out. |

Free and Broods in general are extremely underappreciated and underrated and just because they did well in a tournament doesn't make them overrated imo  Anyways I'm happy they got some exposure due to this and they did very good |

Holy s**t, my song f**king won! I never expected this, thought it would go out in the #20-11 range and I'm really glad it won in the end, thanks y'all for making this happen.
