If I had ranked "No Diggity" where I would rank it now, it would have been #9. I guess I should devote more time to these. EDIT: I also would have had a perfect ranking for #10, then! > :'(

10. No Diggity (58): I'm sorry but this one just hasn't connected enough with me. Not a bad song, but maybe not the best cup of tea for me. 9. Wannabe (15): Oh, well! :) More than a guilty pleasure, a catchy pop song with enough attitude to make a good first impression. 8. Head Over Feet (50): I've always been a fan of Alanis, but this is my least favorite single of JLP. Just too simple for what she's able to do... 7. One Headlight (1): This was one of the few cases a song charted twice in my personal chart. First right around when it was hit in the US. But after a year or so this one became quite popular in our pop radio stations back home and I fell in love again and even more strongly. I love everything about it. The melancholic vibe, the music, Jacob's vocals, the lyrics. Unless someone wants to tank this on purpose, I can't believe people would rank this in the bottom for this year (like, what's going on, Az, wave?) One of my 90s favorites that in this RD I had to rank higher than DS. Should've been top 5. 6. Lovefool (6): P-P-P-PERFECT RANKING!! Like Your Woman and other songs in the late 90s, I loved this modern rock songs with disco / new wave influences! A great pop classic, with awesome music, production, vocals, everything. A multi-week personal chart-topper 5. I Want You (28): This was a good debut single and still sounds fresh. But I prefer other songs from them (Truly Madly Deeply, Break Me Shake Me, The Animal Song, Crash and Burn, even I Knew I Loved You) and several others from this year 4. I Love You Always Forever (12): I've always been a fan of this. That first minute, the subdued music, her sexy voice (kind of a 90s Cyndi Lauper ). Great to see it in the top 5! 3. Un-Break My Heart (5): I liked Toni's Breathe Again, You Mean the World to Me, and You're Makin' Me High, but UBMH was love at first listen. She sounds divine, plus I love the Spanish guitar ballad sound of it. Multi-week personal chart-topper, including a #1 in my personal Latin chart with her version in Spanish, Regresa a Mi (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jewX6Yj8Bdg) 2. Semi-Charmed Life (3): YAYAYYY!!! I was nervous that wasn't going to be in the top 5. This has been a personal favorite since I first heard it, plus I have LOTS of good youth memories associated with it. A multi-week personal chart-topper and a yearend top 5 for me. Still sing a long every time I hear it 1. Don't Speak (2): Awesome song, and one of those timeless classics that could've been a 1970s, 80s or 00s hit. Sounds as good as always. Great #1!!! Thanks, JT for hosting!! This was an awesome list of songs, and even though there were lots of modern rock songs that ranked lower than I hoped, it was good to do this. (Btw, interesting to see several close ranks with rock posters in this RD )

Only Sarah’s best single ever. Should’ve been top-15. I like "Building A Mystery," but "Possession" is by far her best.

9. Spice Girls - "Wannabe" - 1169 points Thanks to this music video, it dawned on me at a young age that a little black dress is the sexiest piece of clothing a woman can ever wear. Goodness, even to this day, Victoria ("Posh Spice") is damn hot in this video! I was 18 when this song was a hit, and when I saw the video for the first time, I spent the next hour in my bedroom with the lights off.

By the way, I'm glad to see that my #1 made the top five.
