It's kinda crazy to think that Take It All Badk, after being #100 by a huge margain in 2016, may actually have a smallish chance of escaping the bottom 10 this year. Granted, I don't see it happening, but the fact it could is bizzare to me. Cmon guys, don't you remember how godawful that song is?! Completely unrelated note: this rankdown made me realize how good Lost on You is and how sad it is that it flopped everywhere but AAA. That'll be interesting to see how it does -- I could see that finished anywhere between 30-80. Looks like you guys are going to get a once in a lifetime chance to watch me upgrade a rap song on one of these rankdowns, like you've never seen me do before. That's how bad the songs on this list are. However there are about 35 songs here that I really love, so my top 40 will be HOT! Previewing some songs, and I forgot how offensive these type of lyrics are to me, so forget what I said above. it's just not gonna happen when A song opens up with a line about a bag of dicks. Honestly curious what you find offensive about it? Like it's basically just saying "eat a dick," which is a fairly common way of saying to f**k off or something.

I can relate more to that. That also has to do because the way it's delivered. Singing. I also son't like rap, because it just sounds like someone is talking to me about shit I don't care about. Profanity without a reason in music just tunes me out. That is why I didn't like that stupid Buckcherry album called "FUCK"

I do get tuned out by Angry or angry sounding rap lyrics. The tones are also a huge part of it. Now "sleaze rock" lyrics is totally different. I don't get get offended at the least, not even when it's geared to men, probably because "Party Rock" does not have an angry vibe.

Just sent my list and I'm surprised about how much on here I liked. There are quite a few duds but there's also a whole heap of gems here as well.
As for what #100 could be, I'd say it's a two horse race between Middle Fingers and Vacation. I can't see either of them getting any help from rock or pop posters.

Legends seems like the frontrunner for #100. I have never seen a single poster love that song. At least 2 people will boost Middle Fingers, and at least 3 will boost Vacation. Legends has none to back up. (and those who liked it don't love it either)

Submitted.
My average rating of the songs is 2.495/5. I hadn't heard most of them prior to listening to Daryl's playlist.
I've lost track of how my taste compares to Alt posters in general, but I'm excited to find out.

We're posting in a different font, and you know what that means...I'M DOING THIS UPDATE JUST BECAUSE OF YOU! It's time for the rock chart rankdown version of the B-B-B-B-BALLOT UPDATE! Another ballot update, another different group of posters: peacebone, Pollen, and Beno provided the rankings needed for this ballot update to happen. (singingrulebritannia will be the leadoff ranking for the next update.) This update provides a couple of key changes...
- ...though those changes are not really felt at the top. Yet. The previous #1 was the #1 song through all three rankings, which means that it holds on to its throne...for now. Boy, am I just alluding to the next ranking changing the #1 or what? :kii: #1 is currently nearly 30 points ahead of #2, but the real story is the separation that #1 has been able to accomplish beyond the top two. #1 is now almost 70 points ahead of #3 and over 100 points clear of #4. So, even if the next ranking were to tank it (and it doesn't, really), it wouldn't be able to knock it out of the top three. - The separation between #2 and #3 and beyond is also becoming apparent. #2 is now nearly 40 points ahead of #3 and almost 100 points ahead of #4. - The three songs that have been in every top ten rankings remain in the top ten, but one of them fell out of the top five for the first time at one point. The other two are still in the top 3. - One ranking was able to knock a perennial top ten contender out of the top ten, though it rebounded into the top ten by the time this update was over. One song, meanwhile, is now in the top five after not even being in the top ten in the previous update. - The four songs that have been in every bottom ten are still in the bottom ten, and, for the first time, they make up the bottom four. - Threshold update time! The top seven are the first seven songs to cross the 1000 point mark, while the top three are the only three songs over 1100 points. All but five songs are above the 200 point mark... - ...though, incredibly, the bottom two are STILL under 100 points. A song is starting to drop closer and closer to their range, though, so when they inevitably cross the 100 point mark, they will be joining a song that #99 is less than 40 points behind. It will be nice for the bottom two to get some company, because they're currently over TWO FULL RANKINGS behind #90. - The song that's been struggling dropped to a new low ranking with this update. I can't wait to talk about this when we reveal the song later. Other songs are starting to struggle more than I expected, too. It's still early, but with 10+ rankings having been submitted already, it's pretty clear that some songs are not going to perform up to expectations. - And what would a ballot update be without Pulse's Favorite Part of the Ballot Update...
Well, that was a quick return for this...SOUND THE ALARM! We don't just have a top ten tie, we have a top five tie, at #5. We also have ties at #36, #38, #43, and #79.

I can already tell that much blood will be shed. This isn't even taking into account the pop presence.

I'll take "High Enough" over "Blood...." Anyday. I think their both awful but I prefer a boring kind of obnoxious song that goes nowhere until the last 30 seconds over a putrid and annoying song that sounds like a desperate Melanie Martinez rip-off.

"High Enough" was already getting, er, high marks from me. And after hearing "Blood in the Cut" on the radio this morning, it really clicked with me. Can I revise my list?

I believe Blood In The Cut was my 69 in 2016. Expect it to be a lot higher this rankdown, after its inclusion in Bojack Horseman I became a big K. Flay fan.

Unneeded commentary for my rankings:
1-6: Were all possible #1's 7-15: In the 'pure awesomeness' range 16-21: Songs worthy of being on repeat for hours 22-32: Above average songs that I come back to every once in awhile 33-43: The 'it took me a few weeks to like this' list of songs 44-54: Average at best 55-68: Decent; could be a lot better though 69-79: Not really feeling it 80-85: Just... no. 86-100: Were all possible #100 candidates.
2017 could have been a better year for sure.

I tanked TIAB a bit since everyone is gonna trash it (except gravey i guess). Last year it escaped my bottom ten.
Three artists make their top ten debuts on my list, one of which is making their rankdown debut. My top seven are the usual suspects, with half of my top ten being artists that had top ten action on my 2016 lists.
One artist makes their bottom ten debut. My bottom five is soooo bad, like absolutely unlistenable.

We're posting in a different font, and you know what that means...ME, I UPDATE FOR CANDY! It's time for the rock chart rankdown version of the B-B-B-B-BALLOT UPDATE! Oh, look, it's another different group of posters submitting a ranking, what a surprise: singingrulebritannia, @carseatlegrest, and Lordef†ones have all graced us with their rankings, and, as I alluded to in the last update, big changes are looming...
- The big change that I alluded to in the last update was that the stalwart #1 was replaced in the very next ranking by the song at #2. The song that took over at #1 wasn't even able to hold on for more than a single ranking, as the previous #1 returned to the top spot. The gap between #1 and #2 is not as large as it once was, though: Thirteen points separate the top two songs. - Meanwhile, the top two are still well above the rest, with #2 over 30 points clear of #3 and 80 points clear of #4. We also had a new song break into the top three, though, and with its current momentum, it might have a chance to permanently unseat the #1. Time will tell, though... - The three songs that have been in every top ten rankings remain in the top ten, and they're all in the top five. What? They can't all be winners. :kii: - A couple of songs are starting to really surprise me with their longevity. I thought that they might do well at first and then drop off, but here we are, and they're still in the top 20. One song that just entered the top 15 was one that I thought would be much more divisive than it actually is. - The four songs that have been in every bottom ten are still in the bottom ten, and, once again, they are the bottom four. - Threshold update time! The top three are the only songs above the 1300 point mark, while only the top 11 have crossed 1200 points. Almost the entire top 40 now has over 1000 points. Meanwhile, four songs have yet to reach 200 points. - #99 was able to cross the 100 point mark during this update (and is now just seven points behind #98), which leaves #100 as the last song yet to cross the 100 point threshold. Even if it starts getting support soon, it will have a lot of work to do just to escape the bottom ten. It is nearly three full rankings behind #90. - The song I've been talking about that has been struggling finally seemed to pick up a little traction with this update. It's nothing HUGE yet, but it's inching closer to the top 50. There may be hope for it yet... - And what would a ballot update be without Pulse's Favorite Part of the Ballot Update...
Wait, again, really? ...okay, SOUND THE ALARM! We have ANOTHER top ten tie for this particular ballot update. Exciting! That tie can be found at #8. We also have ties at #13, #26, #37, and #88.
