2017 Pulse Country Rankdown (Finished!)

Welcome friends, family, neighbors, minions, hillbillies, hill-Williams, Daryls, Randys, and grandmas! At long last, it is the moment you have all been waiting for! Billboard finally got off their pock-marked and flattened buttocks and published the full 100-song year-end chart for Country Airplay, which means we can start the 2017 Pulse Country Rankdown!!!! The rules are simple: Listen to all the songs, rank them from your favorite to least favorite, numbered 1-110, and send your lists to me via Personal Message!

Regarding the list, I kept the year-end list mostly intact, with just a couple exceptions. Luke Bryan's "Move" was swapped out for Shania Twain's comeback attempt, Jason Aldean's "A Little More Summertime" was cut for Dierks Bentley's "What The Hell Did I Say", FGL's "May We All" was cut for Zac Brown Band's "Roots", and Tim McGraw's "How I'll Always Be" was cut in favor of Lauren Alaina's "Doin' Fine". All those changes were because the former songs were released in the early summer of 2016, and had pretty much peaked and left by the time 2017 started. I also added 10 songs to the end of the list that were released this year by upcoming or established artists that did not manage to make the year-end chart!

Definitely doing this today. Don't worry when doing this on Preference Revealer I will stay honest to what I think of each song. That being said some songs will be low that I know Pulse loves. But my list is 100% my opinion.

My list will more than likely come after the New Year as I still have three (four including my very own YE Country RD) rankdowns to juggle. Indifferent on my 81 (that's it)
Don't like my 82 to 93
For me 94 to 105 are awful
My bottom 5 are all atrocities in their own way and I have my own reasons for hating all of them, that I'll reveal down the road when reveal time comes. So stay tuned❤.

I will say for as good as this year was in country music the fact that Garth Brooks isn't in my bottom 5 is sad because I thought he would be but alas he wasn't.

My thoughts exactly. I really had high hopes for country music in 2017, but overall I think I became even more disenchanted with country radio this year. I rarely listen to mainstream country radio anymore and find it just feels like a chore to try and keep up with. I'll still complete the rankdown for 2017, but the amount of songs I dislike vastly outweighs the songs I liked.

So many awful no-name male artist debuts this year, so little room in my bottom 10... Overall I would say that 2017 is easily the 2nd or 3rd worst year of the '10s so far, depending on how much you dislike 2013 and 2014.

For me I do like this year. The problem is that there wasn't a lot that stood out. Also a lot of the songs that hit #1 or really even Top 10, burned out on me as radio played the crap out of them.

For me at least this year when looking at this list, it feels like both male and female artists gave a lot of good songs, but both also had some truly awful songs.

Done. Overall a down year across the board in country music. A lot of forgettable and bad music. Then again country music is in the midst of transitioning to a new era, while getting closer each year to the harsh reality of their current standing in music.
