National wins, I will explain why after it gets revealed. Ballot update said that I changed the 1 and next list after said that it was changed to a completely different one. And then 1 more number 1 got changed after, so it either went to the song that I made 1, or the song that was 1 right before mine. Since the 3 came and Hot Thoughts was 3 and that was my highest rank of the top 3, I realized that was probably the song that I made 1 that got switched, and then I assumed that the other song that I did not have too low aka Holding On was the next 1, and then the 1 changed, and since Hot Thoughts was out, I realized that National won, since it got changed to the 1 that was the 1 before my list since I had it the lowest.

fearlessarrow I told you on discord that I was nice with the song, if I was harsh with the awful song I would ranked that at 100. The song is not bad, is incredible boring and heavily overrated on this board. Anyways, thanks for hosting this peacebone

I did not try hard enough. Should have ranked it 85, but I boosted it just a little so you guys would not say that I tanked it TOO much. But in the end, I ended up overranking it, which as you guys can see, proved costly.

so I knew that "the system..." had won for a while now (long story short: I checked the spreadsheet a few days ago, asked peacebone about a "ye chart" column there, turns out it wasn't meant to be there and spoiled the list) and the best part of that was seeing leo desperately hope in vain that it would lose lmaooo

Well you still think the song is incredibly boring so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ bashing me for my english is not fair play I was trying to emphasize that you thought "The System Only Dreams In Total Darkness" was VERY boring. I would never bash you for your English English isn't my first language either, and I make mistakes with English sometimes, too.

Really people? I love The National, but "Holding On" is so much more epic. Everything The War On Drugs does sounds epic. Man does Alternative need to start embracing both of these bands though.

10. Up All Night - Good song but not top 10 worthy. It overstayed. 9. The Man - Great song, but preferred other songs to be higher. (i.e. "Ran" and the other top 10s I lost prior to this) 8. Can I Sit Next to You - Spoon were on fire this year. One of the catchiest tracks of the year. 7. Don't Take the Money - See "Up All Night". 6. I Dare You - A great song from a great album. Pleased to see it make it this far. 5. High Ticket Attractions - One of the few songs below my top 30 that is in the rankdown top 10, but I'm glad to see this top 5 because of how unexpecting it is to see it do so well. Great song, too. 4. The Gold - An astounding song from one of the best albums of the year. Loved the vocals on this. 3. Hot Thoughts - See "Can I Sit Next to You". 2. Holding On - A Deeper Understanding is one of my favorite albums of the year, but this is honestly not one of my favorite tracks on it. Songs like "Pain", "In Chains", "Thinking of a Place" and "Nothing to Find" were better. But that says how great that album is when this track makes my top 10. 1. System Only Dreams - An excellent #1. Sleep Well Beast was my favorite album last year and this was one of the highlights of it. I hope the success of this song encourages more people to check out their older stuff as well. (except their first one or two albums) This was a great top 10! Thanks peacebone for hosting!

Ugh. I mean, I don't dislike this song really and can't say I wasn't expecting a victory from it, but still disappointing, especially when there were so many songs in the running I actually love, but at least the top ten was pretty good overall.

And with that, the 2017 Year End Triple A Chart Rankdown has concluded. We've now covered this year's rankdowns for the three American rock formats. As always, I thank everyone who submitted a list and/or followed along with the rankdown. I'd especially like to thank Daryl the Beryl for making these rankdowns possible, providing us with the lists for these rankdowns and granting me the opportunity to host a rankdown for my favorite radio format. I hope you all enjoyed participating and watching the rankdown! Final stats (closeness + change in song positions) will be going up shortly - within the next hour or so. (also, please don't forget that the Marcus King Band is the greatest band of the past 10 years, a hidden gem that was truly robbed of a spot on this list)

10. Beck - Up ll Night Another great song from Beck. This shot up the charts so fast that I still haven't gotten around to charting it myself. Hopefully it sticks around ab it longer so I can get a chance to give it, top 50 action.
9. The Killers - The Man The KIllers are never far from my top 10 and usually in y top 3, whatever chart they might appear on. This was note for note my favorite song on this AAA list. Besides #9 out of 100 songs is nothing to frown at. I did my damage here.
8. Can I Sit Next to You - Spoon This was a great song that I completely forgot to chart. I think I might have been the one to first post the video on the "Hot Thoughts" thread, so I kinda screwed up by not charting it. Glad it made the top 10 here.
7. Don't Take the Money - Bleachers This is more 80's than AAA, but I still love it to death.
6. I Dare You - The xx Much better than that 'Other" song, but I still don't get the "hard on" for it, that most of you do? I still wish only the female had sung it?
5. High Ticket Attractions - The New Pornographers This is the other AAA, only charting song, that I charted too. It easily made my top 100 of 2018. The male/female duo vocals here is what made me love it even more. Like "Mourning Sound" this also had that perfect Alternative rock vibe that I prefer. Top 5 is an awesome rank for it. BTW, why would anyone tank a band with the word "porn" in their name.
4. The Gold - Manchester Orchestra This was one of the least interesting songs in this top 10. It has some nice guitar , but I'm not sold on this guy's vocals. The song is pretty cool tho.
3. Hot Thoughts - Spoon This would be my last top 10 showing here, but it made the top 3. I knew I would put this song in my top 10 on this AAA list. This and "I Turn My Camera On" are now my two favs from this band.
2. War On Drugs - Holding On Not bad. I like the guitars.
1. The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness - The National This would have been the third AAA only charting song that could have charted, so I kinda screwed up. It really has an 80's vibe and I love that little giutar riff throughout the song. I did put this one in my top 30, so I would say a pretty good #1. No complaints here.
