Cool of Ed to rule the UK as usual but this is one instance where I'm glad the rules are gonna take him down soon. Bad Habits actually increased in streams this week, so he's got at least 3 more weeks left :///

Plus new releases from Tion Wayne & ArrDee and Clinton Kane are set to make big entries on this week's Official Singles Chart.
Ed Sheeran is challenging himself for the top spot as his new track Visiting Hours is on course to be this week’s highest new entry on the Official Singles Chart, currently at Number 3 on the Official Chart First Look.
The song was released last Thursday (August 19) in line with the announcement of his new album =, which follows on October 29. Ed’s current Number 1 Bad Habits remains in pole position, followed by The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber’s Stay.
Dance hit Talk About by Rain Radio and DJ Craig Gorman looks set to climb for a ninth consecutive week, so far up two spots to Number 7, and Tones & I could enter the Top 10 with TikTok favourite Fly Away, up two places to Number 9.
Outside the Top 10, Joel Corry & Jax Jones’ Out Out Charli XCX and Saweetie is making big moves this week, lifting seven rungs to Number 11.
Two more new releases are on course to land in this week’s Top 20: Tion Wayne & ArrDee’s drill cut Wid It, and Australian singer-songwriter Clinton Kane looks certain to make his UK Top 40 debut with I Guess I’m In Love, new at 19.

Ed Sheeran lands a ninth consecutive week at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart with Bad Habits, while his latest release Visiting Hours is the highest new entry of the week.
Continuing to comfortably lead on both digital downloads and streaming figures, Bad Habits shows little sign of slowing down yet as it becomes his longest-reigning Number 1 single since 2017’s Shape Of You, which spent a total of 14 weeks at the top, 13 of which were consecutive.
Ed’s chart domination continues as Visiting Hours debuts at Number 5, a landmark 30th UK Top 10 single for the singer-songwriter – matching Rihanna and placing him in joint-tenth place for most Top 10s in UK chart history.
Meanwhile, Joel Corry & Jax Jones’ hit collaboration Out Out ft. Charli XCX and Saweetie climbs eight places to Number 10 - Joel and Charli XCX’s fifth Top 10 hit, Jax Jones’ seventh, and Saweetie’s first.
Doja Cat moves up one to Number 11 with Need To Know, and Wizkid’s Essence ft. Tems also climbs one to Number 16. Further down, Tion Wayne & ArrDee debut at Number 19 with Wid It, landing just ahead of Doja Cat’s Woman which rises six to Number 20.
YouTube sensation Clinton Kane earns his first UK Top 40 single with I Guess I’m In Love at Number 22, and fast-rising producer and singer Pinkpantheress leaps nine places to 27 with Just For Me, her highest chart placement to date.
Finally, Drive by Clean Bandit & Topic ft. Wes Nelson rises seven places to a new peak at Number 33.

Plus Ed Sheeran's Bad Habits is set for a tenth week at Number 1, and BTS' Butter could land back in the chart thanks to a remix ft. Megan Thee Stallion.
Joel Corry & Jax Jones’ collaboration Out Out is heading for this week’s Official Singles Chart Top 5, reaching Number 5 on the Official Chart: First Look.
The song, which features Charli XCX and Saweetie, is quickly rising up the Official Singles Chart, already up five places on last week.
The track still has a way to go to knock Ed Sheeran’s Bad Habits off the Number 1 spot however, as Bad Habits – now Ed’s second-longest reigning Number 1 single ever behind 2017’s 14-week chart-topper Shape Of You – pulls ahead in this week’s race as it continues to lead on both digital downloads and streams.
Anne-Marie & Little Mix’s Kiss My (Uh Oh) flies six places to Number 8 on the First Look following a ‘Girl Power' remix featuring Becky Hill, Raye and Stefflon Don, while Tones & I’s Fly Away rises four to Number 9.
Butter by BTS could return to the Official Chart this week thanks to a new remix featuring Megan Thee Stallion, at Number 14 today.
Finally, Sigala & Rita Ora’s You For Me is up six places at Number 20 – a potential new peak for the rising collab which would be Sigala’s 11th Top 20 single and Rita Ora’s 17th.

^According to the corresponding Official Charts article, Good 4 U had 834k chart sales, while Bad Habits had 812k. I would think Bad Habits would have ended up #1 with an additional week, but it only charted for 9 weeks (all at #1) of the summer, while Good 4 U chart for all of the weeks taken into account (unlike Billboard, the Official Charts doesn't mention the chart dates involved, but I assume they were 13 weeks involved).
A couple of remarks about the top 40. Olivia really dominated with five songs, but Maneskin turned out to be the big surprise with two songs in the top 12. The other one is that Butter didn't make it.

I’m very happy for Little Mix too. After they regained the UK public’s trust with “Sweet Melody” hitting #1, they have been unstoppable. Very happy for them.

Plus Kanye West claims three new Top 20 songs following the release of Donda.
Ed Sheeran sails into a tenth week at Number 1 with Bad Habits, while Kanye West scores three new entries with tracks from his Number 1 album Donda.
With over 8.8 million streams in the UK this week and leading on digital downloads, Bad Habits finishes 16,000 chart sales ahead of Number 2, Stay by The Kid Laroi & Justin Bieber.
Bad Habits is now the longest-reigning Number 1 single in the UK since Dance Monkey by Tones & I, which spent 11 consecutive weeks at Number 1 between October-December 2019.
The track now matches the Number 1 reigns of Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You, Rihanna’s Umbrella ft. Jay Z, and 1953 hit Cara Mia by David Whitfield. Only nine songs in history have ever spent more weeks at Number 1 in the UK, including Sheeran’s own Shape Of You.
Meanwhile, Industry Baby by Lil Nas X & Jack Harlow climbs two to a new peak at Number 5, landing just ahead of Joel Corry & Jax Jones’ Out Out ft. Charli XCX & Saweetie which rises four to Number 6.
Kanye West scores his 21st Top 10 single with Hurricane (7), following the release of his new album Donda. Kanye earns two more places in this week’s Top 40 with Jail (11) and Off The Grid (15) bringing his total number of UK Top 40 singles to 47.
Anne-Marie & Little Mix climb four into the Top 10 with Kiss My (Uh Oh) (10) following a new ‘Girl Power’ remix featuring Becky Hill, Raye and Stefflon Don. It’s now Anne-Marie’s 6th Top 10 single and Little Mix’s 19th.
Further down, TikTok favourite Heat Waves by Glass Animals rebounds into a new peak of Number 18, Elton John & Dua Lipa collaboration Cold Heart flies 12 to Number 23, and Butter by BTS returns to the chart at 32 following a new remix featuring Megan Thee Stallion.
Becky Hill scores her 13th Top 40 single with Topic collaboration My Heart Goes (La Di Da) at Number 36, from her debut album Only Honest On The Weekend.
Finally, David Guetta, Mistajam and John Newman’s If You Really Love Me (How Will I Know) – a rework of the Whitney Houston classic - climbs three to Number 40 after a seven-week climb. The track marks David Guetta’s 42nd Top 40 single – his fourth in 2021 alone - John Newman’s eighth, and Mistajam’s first.

Also on the Official Chart: First Look, Little Mix are on track for a Top 20 debut with Love (Sweet Love).
Drake is on course to dominate this week’s Official Singles Chart with tracks from his new album Certified Lover Boy as he occupies every position in the Top 3 on today (September 5)’s Official Chart: First Look.
The Canadian rapper is on track for his seventh Official UK Number 1 single with Girls Want Girls ft. Lil Baby, which would also mark the Atlantan featured artist’s first UK chart topper. The duo previously collaborated on Number 10 hit Wants & Needs in March this year.
In addition, Drake looks to take his tally of Top 10 singles to 30 with a further two entries – Champagne Poetry (2) and Fair Trade ft. Travis Scott (3).
The Official Chart: First Look airs Sundays on BBC Radio 1 between 6pm – 7pm, offering a first glance of the Top 20 ahead of Friday’s Official Singles Chart Top 100. The chart is based on preliminary sales and early streaming reports.
Number 1 for the past ten weeks, Ed Sheeran’s Bad Habits is heading for a tumble of three places to Number 4.
The second wind for Glass Animals’ viral hit Heat Waves is set to continue this week, with the track eyeing up a new peak of Number 12, a rise of six spots.
Finally, Little Mix look to score their 31st Official Top 40 single with Love (Sweet Love), currently at 19.
Find out the week's final chart standings on The Official Chart with Scott Mills on BBC Radio 1 this Friday from 4pm. The Official Singles Chart Top 100 is revealed here on OfficialCharts.com every Friday at 5.45pm

Interesting to see which songs from Drake's album will chart in the end. CP definitely isn't guaranteed.

Plus ABBA and Little Mix both land Top 40 debuts.
Ed Sheeran claims an 11th consecutive week at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart with Bad Habits.
Bad Habits scores 8.4 million streams to land its latest week at the top, denying Drake his seventh Number 1 single in the UK following the release of new album Certified Lover Boy.
With 11 weeks at Number 1 in the UK, Bad Habits now stands in line with Tones and I’s Dance Monkey (2019), Despacito by Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee ft. Justin Bieber (2017), and Rose Marie by Slim Whitman (1955) who all managed the same feat.
Drake may not have quite managed to topple Bad Habits, but has earned three spots in the Top 5 in this week’s chart with Girls Want Girls (2), Fair Trade (3) and Champagne Poetry (5) – bringing his total number of Top 10 singles to 30.
This is the second time Drake has managed three simultaneous Top 5 singles in the UK – previously he managed the feat in 2018 following the release of his Scorpion album.
ABBA score two brand new entries in this week's Top 20, including their first Top 10 single in nearly 40 years. Their highly anticipated comeback sees brand new track Don’t Shut Me Down enter straight in at Number 9, more than 39 years after their last UK Top 10 placing. The last time ABBA appeared in the Official Chart Top 10 was with One Of Us back in January 1982, and today (September 10)’s result represents one of the longest gaps ever between Top 10 hits. New sister single I Still Have Faith In You lands just outside the Top 10 too at Number 14. I Still Have Faith In You also enters the Official Vinyl Singles Chart at Number 1 following its limited edition 7" release, with lyric etchings on Side B.
Elsewhere in the Official Singles Chart, Glass Animals leap eight places to earn their first Top 10 single with Heat Waves (10), and Elton John & Dua Lipa fly 12 places with Cold Heart, the most downloaded song of the week (11).
Becky Hill & Topic’s My Heart Goes (La Di Da) climbs five to Number 31, and Little Mix score their 31st Top 40 single with Love (Sweet Love), which debuts at Number 33.
Finally, David Guetta, Mistajam & James Newman rise one place to Number 39 with If You Really Love Me (How Will I Know).

Drake was pretty close to lose both #1's in the end.
GWG did over 1 million on Spotify on first day and still debuted at #2... I don't think that had happened before?

PS: The 1/150 and 1/300 streams rules won’t count for the YE chart, right?

Am I the only one who thinks that Bad Habits will end at #1 on the YE chart? Yeah it's catching up to Drivers License pretty fast, only about 300k behind I believe

Plus Central Cee could land a big new entry according to the Official Chart: First Look.
Ed Sheeran is set to replace himself at Number 1 following the release of Shivers, the latest dance-pop influenced single from his upcoming album =.
With this new single already over 10,000 chart sales ahead of its predecessor Bad Habits (2) – which has so far spent 11 consecutive weeks atop the Official Singles Chart – will it be enough of a lead to topple Bad Habits and become Ed’s 11th UK Number 1?
Elton John & Dua Lipa could fly into this week’s Top 5 with Cold Heart (PNAU Remix), which lands at Number 4 on today’s First Look. If it holds on it will mark Elton John’s 32nd Top 10 hit in the UK and Dua Lipa’s 12th.
After entering the Top 10 for the very first time last week, Glass Animals’ viral hit Heat Waves climbs two places to Number 8.
Central Cee starts the week strong with new single Obsessed With You (11). This latest offering from the drill rapper samples Pinkpantheress’ recent Top 40 single Just For Me.
Finally, Way 2 Sexy by Drake, featuring regular collaborators Young Thug & Future – which interpolates the refrain from Right Said Fred’s 1991 Number 2 hit I’m Too Sexy – lands at Number 14 on the First Look, potentially becoming Drake’s 42nd Top 20 single in the UK.

Still baffled how Ed gets a free pass to #1 with everything he releases in the UK. Shivers is #4 on Spotify and #5 on AM, still it's going to be #1 on Official Charts, thanks to the rules.

Bad Habits' 11-week reign comes to an end, plus new entries include Central Cee, Mimi Webb, and CKay have brand new entries.
Ed Sheeran goes straight to Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart with Shivers – knocking his own 11-week Number 1 single Bad Habits off the top spot in the process.
Shivers opens with 59,000 chart sales – including just over 9,000 sales on CD, to become Ed’s 11th Number 1 single.
This is the second time Ed has replaced himself at Number 1; the first time was in January 2018 when Perfect was knocked off by Eminem’s River, which he featured on. See Ed Sheeran's full Official Chart history here.
The last act to replace themselves at Number 1 was Ariana Grande in February 2019, when her single Break Up With Your Girlfriend… I’m Bored dethroned 7 Rings, and the following week 7 Rings regained its position at the top.
Meanwhile, Elton John & Dua Lipa leap seven places to Number 4 with Cold Heart (PNAU Remix) - Dua Lipa’s eighth Top 5 single, and Elton John’s 21st and first in 12 years, since 2009’s Tiny Dancer (Hold Me Closer) with Ironik and Chip.
West London rapper Central Cee rounds off the Top 5 with Obsessed With You (5), which samples Pinkpantheress’ latest single Just For Me (43) and becomes his highest-charting single to date.
Glass Animals climb two places with Heat Waves (8), while Drake scores another Top 40 entry with Way 2 Sexy ft. Young Thug & Future (11). Doja Cat reaches a new peak with Woman (14) up six places, and Ed Sheeran rebounds three with Visiting Hours (19).
Three brand new entries are next up: Nigerian ‘emo-afrobeat’ artist Ckay makes his Official Chart debut with his TikTok viral hit Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah) at 23; Mimi Webb’s 24/5 enters at 25 to become her third Top 40 single; Digga D scores his eighth Top 40 with 2K17 at 26.
Dave rebounds 21 places to Number 28 with Verdansk following the release of its music video, while The Anxiety – aka Willow Smith & Tyler Cole – fly 17 places to Number 35 with 2020 single and popular TikTok hit Meet Me At Our Spot.
Finally, Dermot Kennedy lifts one place to Number 40 with Better Days. After climbing for several weeks, the track becomes Dermot’s fifth Top 40 single.

Plus new peak positions on the cards for Elton John, Dua Lipa, Joel Corry and rising Afrobeats star CKay.
Lil Nas X leads the new entries on tonight's Official Chart First Look with That’s What I Want (10) from his new album Montero.
That's What I Want is the highest new entry of the week so far and one of three Lil Nas X tracks heading for the UK Official Chart Top 40. The US singer and rapper’s collaboration with Jack Harlow, Industry Baby, climbs five places midweek to Number 4, while further down Scoop ft. Doja Cat starts out at Number 34.
Ed Sheeran looks set for a second week at Number 1 with his latest single Shivers, while Elton John and Dua Lipa’s mash-up collaboration Cold Heart could hit a new peak on Friday, climbing two rungs midweek to Number 2.
Also heading for a new best this week is Joel Corry x Jax Jones ft. Charli XCX and Saweetie, their dance floor anthem Out Out could break the Top 5 for the first time, up two places midweek to Number 5.
Highest climber of the week so far comes courtesy of Nigerian artist CKay, Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah) sails seven places to Number 16 over the weekend. If the track maintains momentum, it will land rising Afrobeats star CKay his first ever UK Top 20 single after Love Nwantiti made its Top 40 debut just last week.
Elsewhere, big climbs ahead for Anne-Marie & Little Mix, Kiss My (Uh Oh) is up six places midweek to Number 12, while Ed Sheeran’s Visiting Hours also ascends five slots to Number 14 after 48 hours.
For the final results tune in to The Official Chart with Scott Mills on BBC Radio 1 this Friday from 4pm.
