Plus Lil Nas X lands three entries in the Top 20 following the release of his debut album Montero.
Ed Sheeran remains the king of the Official Singles Chart as his latest single Shivers claims a second week at Number 1.
Ed’s second single from his upcoming album = racked up another 6.1 million streams over the past seven days to hold its place at the summit. Shivers fends off strong competition from Elton John & Dua Lipa’s Cold Heart (Pnau Remix), which jumps two places to Number 2 – Elton’s highest-charting single as a lead artist since his re-release of Are You Ready For Love hit Number 1 in 2003.
Meanwhile, Lil Nas X & Jack Harlow’s Industry Baby leaps six places to a new peak at Number 3, and following the release of his new album Montero, That’s What I Want is this week’s highest new entry at Number 10, and former Number 1 Montero (Call Me By Your Name) rebounds 47 places to Number 16.
Central Cee’s Obsessed With You (4) and Glass Animals’ Heat Waves (7) both hit new peaks this week, and Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah) by Nigerian artist CKay zooms 14 places to Number 9. The sleeper hit was first released in 2019 and has now taken off globally thanks to series of international collaborations and remixes of the song.
Taylor Swift’s Wildest Dreams (Taylor’s Version) – surprise-released last week after taking off on TikTok – is new at Number 25, out-performing the Number 40 peak of the original single released in 2015.
Further down, four songs reach new highs: The Anxiety (aka Willow And Tyler Cole)’s viral hit Meet Me At Our Spot lifts six places to 29, David Guetta, Mistajam and John Newman’s If You Really Love Me (How Will I Know) hops five spots to 31, Dermot Kennedy’s Better Days climbs five to 35, and Bad Day by US rising star Justus Bennetts climbs six places to make its Top 40 debut at 38.

Coldplay and BTS' My Universe is perched close behind Ed Sheeran's Shivers on the Official Chart First Look.
Coldplay & BTS’ new single My Universe is taking on Ed Sheeran for Number 1 on this week’s Official Singles Chart. The Max Martin-produced collaboration opens at Number 2 on the Official Chart First Look and is just 1,000 chart sales behind current leader, Ed Sheeran’s Shivers (1).
My Universe will feature on Coldplay’s upcoming album Music Of The Spheres, released on October 15. It’s the second single from the collection, following May’s Number 12-peaking Higher Power. Both acts performed the single on this weekend's Global Citizen Live concert in New York.
Meanwhile, Ed's Shivers could receive a further boost this week following his guest performance on BBC One's The Graham Norton Show, which returned with its new series on Friday.
If My Universe holds its position, it will be Coldplay’s highest-charting single since their 2017 Chainsmokers collaboration Something Just Like This. For BTS, it could be their highest-peaking single in the UK to date.
Elsewhere, Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah) by Nigerian artist CKay looks set to hold in the Top 10 for a second week, currently at 9. The sleeper hit was first released in 2019 and has now taken off globally thanks to series of international collaborations and remixes of the song.

Ed Sheeran’s Shivers holds on at Number 1 on this week’s Official Singles Chart, while Coldplay & BTS score a big new entry with their new collaboration My Universe.

No First Look top 20 this week:
03 October 2021 By Rob Copsey
Ed Sheeran looks set for another week of chart domination.
Elton John & Dua Lipa are fighting it out with Ed Sheeran for Number 1 on this week’s Official Singles Chart. Ed’s current chart-topper Shivers (1) holds a narrow lead at the top of the Official Chart First Look, while Elton & Dua’s Cold Heart (Pnau Remix) (2) is just 2,500 chart sales behind.
Cold Heart is Elton’s highest-charting single as a lead artist since his re-release of Are You Ready For Love hit Number 1 in 2003. The track trails his new album The Lockdown Sessions, which includes collaborations with Nicki Minaj, Lil Nas X, Miley Cyrus, Stevie Wonder, Stevie Nicks, and more.
Ed continues dominate the Official Singles Chart in the run up to his new album =, released on October 29. Former Number 1 Bad Habits rebounds three places to Number 3, while album track Visiting Hours is back up six spots to Number 16.
Global viral smash Heat Waves by Oxford band Glass Animals is on course to reach new heights on the Official Singles Chart this week, up three rungs to Number 5. Another single climbing back up the Top 40 is the title track of Billie Eilish’s latest album Happier Than Ever, set to make a return to the Top 10 this Friday, up two places to Number 9.
Finally, Becky Hill & Topic's My Heart Goes (La Di Da) continues to scale the Top 20, currently up three spots to Number 14.

Oliver Tree and Arz enter the Top 40 for the first time, and Billie Eilish's Bond Theme makes a return.
The song racked up another 6.7 million streams in the UK over the past seven days as it marks one month as the biggest song in the country, comfortably ahead of Elton John & Dua Lipa’s Cold Heart (Pnau Remix) which holds at Number 2 for a third week.
CKay climbs one place to Number 3 with Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah), while Central Cee’s Obsessed With You also lifts one spot to Number 4. Rounding off the Top 5 is Glass Animals with Heat Waves, which rises three to a brand new peak and becomes the Oxford band’s first ever Top 5 hit.
Elsewhere in the Top 40, there are more new peaks for Becky Hill & Topic, up two with My Heart Goes (La Di Da) (15), Australian duo Shouse with Love Tonight (22), and Better Days by Dermot Kennedy (26).
Billie Eilish returns to the Official Singles Chart with her chart-topping Bond theme No Time To Die (32), following the long-awaited release of its namesake film last week.
Finally, two big viral hits enter the Top 40 for the very first time – Californian singer-songwriter Oliver Tree’s Life Goes On, which jumps seven to Number 34, and Alone With You by Arz, which climbs six to Number 36. Alone With You is teenage rapper Arz’s breakout track, and features a sample from Billie Eilish’s 2017 song Hostage.

Jesy Nelson is set for this week's highest new entry while hits from Becky Hill & Topic and Dermot Kennedy continue to climb.
Elton John & Dua Lipa are set to dethrone Ed Sheeran from Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart First Look. Elton and Dua’s Cold Heart (1) is currently outpacing Shivers (2), which has now spent four weeks at the top of the chart.
Cold Heart, a re-working of Elton's original songs Sacrifice and Rocket Man re-mixed by DJ duo Pnau is Elton’s highest-charting single as a lead artist since his re-release of Are You Ready For Love hit Number 1 in 2003. The track trails his new album The Lockdown Sessions, which includes collaborations with Nicki Minaj, Lil Nas X, Miley Cyrus, Stevie Wonder, Stevie Nicks, and more.
Jesy Nelson eyes this week’s highest new entry with her debut solo single Boyz feat. Nicki Minaj. Her first release since leaving Little Mix last year, Jesy is currently on track to debut at Number 3 - it would be her first UK Top 10 single as a solo artist and Minaj's 13th.
Outside the Top 10, Coldplay and BTS’ new collaboration My Universe is set to rebound back to Number 11, inching closer to an entry to the Top 10 as the release of Coldplay’s ninth album Music of the Spheres approaches on Friday.
Becky Hill & Topic’s My Heart Goes (La Di Da) continues its trajectory up the chart, currently up one spot and its highest peak so far of Number 14.
Finally, Irish singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy’s Better Days is looking to gain a new peak on the Official Singles Chart, jumping six places from Number 26 to Number 20.
The Official Singles Chart Top 100 is revealed on OfficialCharts.com every Friday at 5.45pm. Follow the Top 40 countdown live on BBC Radio 1’s Official Chart show with Scott Mills.

Elton's new single Cold Heart (Pnau Remix) sets sights on Number 1 this week.
Elton John sets a new record as the only act in Official UK Chart history to score a Top 10 single in six different decades, the Official Charts Company can reveal.
50 years after making his chart debut, last month saw Elton’s latest single Cold Heart (Pnau Remix) become his 33rd Top 10 on the Official Singles Chart. The track heads up his new album The Lockdown Sessions, a collection of collaborations featuring Lil Nas X, Stevie Wonder, Nicki Minaj, Stevie Nicks and more, released on October 22.
Elton made his first appearance on the chart with Your Song in 1971, reaching Number 7, and later re-entering at Number 4 in 2002. The seventies was Elton’s most prolific period for Top 10 singles in the UK, landing ten in total, followed by eight in the nineties.
Elton leapfrogs ahead of five other music legends – Elvis, Cher, Cliff Richard, Michael Jackson and David Bowie – who have each landed at least one Top 10 single in five different decades.
Among Elton’s Top 10 hits are seven Number 1 singles. His first was 1971’s Don’t Go Breaking My Heart with Kiki Dee, while his biggest chart-topper is 1997’s Candle In The Wind 97/Something About The Way You Look Tonight – the UK’s best-selling single of all time (4.94m pure sales).
What’s more, Elton could extend his run of Number 1s to eight this week, as Cold Heart (Pnau Remix) with Dua Lipa is set to dethrone Ed Sheeran’s Shivers from the summit after three weeks at Number 2.
Elton John’s Top 10 singles by decade
1970s Your Song (4), Rocket Man (2), Crocodile Rock (5), Daniel (4), Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting (7), Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (6), Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds (10), Pinball Wizard (7), Don’t Go Breaking My Heart (1), Song For A Guy (4)
1980s Blue Eyes (8), I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues (5), I’m Still Standing (4), Sad Songs (Say So Much) (7), Passengers (5), Nikita (3), Candle In The Wind (Live) (5)
1990s Sacrifice/Healing Hands (1), Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me (1), The One (10), True Love (2), Don’t Go Breaking My Heart ft. RuPaul (7), Live Like Horses ft. Luciano Pavarotti (9), Candle In The Wind 97/Something About The Way You Look Tonight (1), Written In The Stars ft. Leanne Rimes (10).
2000s I Want Love (9), Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word ft. Blue (1), Are You Ready For Love (1) Ghetto Gospel ft. 2Pac (1), Electricity (4), Tiny Dancer (Hold Me Closer) ft. Ironik, Chipmunk (3)

As we prepare for Adele's return, we revealed her top-performing songs so far.
Since debuting in 2008, Adele Adkins has become one of the most widely-known and successful UK music acts of the past two decades. With each album titled after the age in which she wrote the songs featured, Adele has been cheated, lied to and had her heart broken, only to then set fire to everything and start all over again.
Ahead of her imminent new single Easy On Me and fourth album 30, below we revealed Adele's Official Top 20 biggest songs in the UK.
Take a look at the Top 10 below in more detail, but first...some honourable mentions:
Adele's biggest non-single is 21 album track Turning Tables. Co-written by pop hitmaker Ryan Tedder, it's her 12th biggest-selling track in the UK, amassing chart sales in excess of 539,000, as well as 40 million streams.
And speaking of streams, Adele's most-streamed non-single is 25's All I Ask, a collaboration with Bruno Mars. So far, it's been streamed over 42 million times in the UK alone.
10. Hometown Glory Official Chart peak: Number 19 UK chart sales: 739,000
Adele's debut single, Hometown Glory was written about the singer's mother trying to convince her to move out of home in West Norwood, London to attend university. A firm fan favourite ever since, it peaked at Number 19 on the Official Singles Chart after a re-release following Chasing Pavement's initial success.
9. Chasing Pavements Official Chart peak: Number 2 Chart sales: 1 million
Inspired after Adele was thrown out of a pub after she found out her boyfriend had been cheating on her ("what is it you're chasing?" she remembered asking herself, "you're chasing an empty pavement"), Chasing Pavements became Adele's first UK hit. Debuting and peaking at Number 2 in 2008 (losing out on the Number 1 to, umm, Basshunter), it has certainly set her in good stead, shifting chart sales of 1 million. (Fun-fact, every other song in this list has over 1 million chart sales).
8. Send My Love (To Your New Lover) Official Chart peak: Number 5 UK chart sales: 1.2 million
A change in pace for Adele, the more up-tempo Send My Love... was co-written and produced by Swedish pop magicians Max Martin and Shellback, who Adele was convinced to work with after hearing Taylor Swift's I Knew You Were Trouble.
7. Skyfall Official Chart peak: Number 2 UK chart sales: 1.3 million
The theme song for the James Bond film of the same name, Skyfall was such a success it even netted Adele and producer Paul Epworth an Oscar for Best Original Song.
6. When We Were Young Official Chart peak: Number 9 UK chart sales: 1.5 million
A wistful and gospel-tinged soul ballad, where Adele imagines meeting up with a long lost love, years in the future at a party. Released as 25's second single, When We Were Young became Adele's seventh UK Top 10 single and, according to Adele herself, it's her favourite song she's ever written (although that doesn't excuse no official music video).
5. Set Fire To The Rain Official Chart peak: Number 11 UK chart sales: 1.5 million
A moody, glorious mid-tempo cut that is the closest Adele has ever gotten to releasing a full-on banger, Set Fire To The Rain is deliciously over-dramatic. The third single from 21, it peaked just outside the Top 10 in the UK, but posts impressive sales and streams because, well, Adele.
4. Make You Feel My Love Official Chart peak: Number 4 UK chart sales: 2 million
A cover of Bob Dylan's classic composition of the same name, Adele was convinced to record her take on it by her manager, himself a massive Dylan fan. And ever since, it's become a reality-TV show staple, especially in the hey-days of The X Factor as an audition go-to.
3. Rolling In The Deep Official Chart peak: Number 2 UK chart sales: 2.1 million
The lead single from 21 is a rollicking, blues-inspired tune that sees Adele raize the ground on a relationship so that nothing good can grow there again. Produced by frequent collaborator Paul Epworth, the track peaked at Number 2 in the Official Singles Chart in 2011.
2. Hello Official Chart peak: Number 1 UK chart sales: 2.5 million
Hello? It's her. Adele's second UK Number 1, Hello ushered her back into dominance after a few years away with a moody music video to match. With its roaring production and super-sized chorus, Hello more than earned its hit status. Not only Adele's second biggest single in the UK, it's also her most-streamed song, with over 178 million plays in the UK alone.
1. Someone Like You Official Chart peak: Number 1 UK chart sales: 3 million
The song that made Adele a superstar. A sparse piano ballad where Adele ruminates on believing in life after love, Someone Like You became the emotional centrepiece of 21. Thanks to a breathtaking live performance at the 2011 Brits, Someone Like You became Adele's first UK Number 1 single and is probably her best-known song.
It's also her most popular, too. Someone Like You has amassed chart sales in excess of 3 million and has been streamed 173 million times. As a result of those mammoth sales, Someone Like You is the 25th best-selling song in the UK of all time.

Elton & Dua are about 3600 chart sales ahead of Shivers in today's midweek update. Hoping Ed doesn't get a random last day streaming boost. Edit: it appears Ed is backing Elton now! http://instagr.am/p/CVA0bHpIWo0

But Little Mix is just a Greatest Hits... it'll be close.
Hoping Elton and Dua made it. Adele is gonna overtake everyone next week so they better secure that #1 now.

Plus Jesy Nelson makes a big debut with her first solo outing, and Sam Fender's Albums Chart success spills into the Singles Chart.
Elton John and Dua Lipa climb to Number 1 on this week’s Official Singles Chart with Cold Heart (Pnau Remix) after three consecutive weeks at Number 2.
The mash-up collaboration reaches the peak with 64,000 chart sales, including 5.9 million streams and 5,000 copies on limited edition CD single. It marks Elton John’s eighth Number 1 single in the UK and first for 16 years, since his feature on 2Pac’s posthumous 2005 single Ghetto Gospel.
Meanwhile, Cold Heart earns Dua Lipa her third Number 1 hit in the UK following New Rules (2017) and One Kiss (2018).
Elton, who has recently undergone hip surgery, took a moment during his recovery to celebrate his Number 1 success.
Cold Heart’s success this week means Ed Sheeran’s four-week reign with Shivers comes to an end as it drops to Number 2. Across both Shivers and its predecessor Bad Habits, Ed spent a total of 15 consecutive weeks at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart.
Meanwhile, former Little Mix member Jesy Nelson’s debut solo single Boyz ft. Nicki Minaj is the week’s highest new entry, landing at Number 4.
Elsewhere in the Top 20, there are new peaks for Becky Hill & Topic’s My heart Goes (La Di Da) (13), Love Tonight by Shouse (18) – their first Top 20 hit – and Meet Me At Our Spot (19) by The Anxiety aka Willow Smith & Tyler Cole, Willow’s second Top 20 single and Tyler’s first.
Dermot Kennedy climbs two to Number 24 with Better Days, while Sam Fender scores his first UK Top 40 single with Seventeen Going Under, flying into the chart at Number 26 following the release of his second album of the same name.
Finally, UK rapper Arz climbs five places to Number 31 with breakout hit Alone With You, and Scottish producer Ewan McVicar jumps eight to Number 34 with Tell Me Something Good, his first Official Top 40 hit.

Plus new entries from Coldplay, while Becky Hill and Dermot Kennedy eye up new highest-peaks.
Adele is set for a mighty comeback this week with Easy On Me, her first single in five years. In its first 48 hours the track has amassed 70,000 chart sales and is currently outperforming the Top 10 combined as its paces towards the biggest opening week for a song on the Official Singles Chart this year. Stay tuned for further updates throughout the week.
If Easy On Me does debut at Number 1, it would be Adele’s third UK chart-topper, following Somebody Like You (2011) and Hello (2015). Her fourth album, 30, is set for release November 19. The song has already broken streaming records globally for Spotify and Apple Music.
Coldplay are looking to make big gains on the Official Singles Chart. My Universe with BTS is looking set to jump to a new peak of Number 4 following the release of the band’s ninth album, Music of the Spheres. Let Somebody Go, an album track with Selena Gomez, is also pacing to debut at Number 17.
Meanwhile, Becky Hill & Topic’s My Heart Goes (La Di Da) is set to enter the Top 10 for the first time at Number 10. It would be Becky’s fifth UK Top 10 single and Topic’s third.
Finally outside of the Top 10, Irish singer-songwriter Dermot Kennedy’s Better Days continues its upward trajectory on the chart, it could jump nine places to a new peak of Number 15.

Adele's new single is set to open with huge sales and streams on the Official UK Singles Chart.
Adele's comeback continues apace as her new single Easy On Me already claims the biggest opening week for a track on the Official Singles Chart in 2021.
As previously reported by OfficialCharts.com, Easy On Me is soaring towards the top spot this week, set to become her third Number 1 single. View Adele's Official UK Chart history in full here.
In today's Official Chart sales flash (October 20), Easy On Me posts 149,865 chart sales, leapfrogging Olivia Rodrigo, whose track Good 4 U held the biggest week 1 total when it debuted at Number 1 in May with 117,355 chart sales.
With two more days until this week's Official Chart is announced, expect Adele's week 1 figure to grow even further when the Top 40 is revealed on Friday, October 22.
The last track to score more that 150,000 chart sales in its opening week was the 2020 Official Christmas Number 1, LadBaby's Don't Stop Me Eatin', which racked up 158,000 chart sales.
Easy On Me will follow Adele's previous chart-toppers Someone Like You (2011) and Hello (2015). The track was co-written by Adele with longtime collaborator Greg Kurstin, whose hits with Adele include Hello and Top 40 hit Water Under The Bridge. Adele's fourth album, 30, is set for release November 19.

Quick question here: is there anyone who works on calculating and predicting the Year-End for the UK Singles Charts? If so, do you have data on songs that got caught between years, or information on songs below #100?
Really curious about it, since as someone living in Europe (and currently studying in the UK), I would love to use the UK Charts as well as the Hot 100 for my personal Year-End lists.
