Her new album is called Dedicated and it will be released on May 17. The album is available for pre-order on Amazon UK and you could check this here. Two editions of the album will be available: Standard (13 tracks) and Deluxe (15 tracks).

That sounds kinda sexual. But yes, I am really excited for this album. I've loved her for 10 years now, from Tug of War to her Emotion projects. It seems like she can do no wrong.

I hope the date isn't on the actual album cover.

I don't really understand why deluxe editions are still a thing in the streaming era, but I'm excited for this nonetheless.

Ciara on the 10th and Carly on the 17th? My two underrated queens. I'm not ready.
I'm pissed she's skipping Pittsburgh this time, but I'll try to see her in Cleveland. Thankfully I have some obsessive Carly fans in my circle, I'll make them drive!

Hate the cover but excited for the music! I’m holding out hope that it isn’t the final cover. Glad she’s adding additional NYC (and LA) dates!

The hell is that cover-
Also why the hell aren't there any Canadian dates? No Canadian dates and the album isn't even for pre-order on Canadian ITunes. Damn.
Edit: It's there now, however where the HELL is "Party For One" on the tracklist-

I love the cover. It looks like the cover of some folksy singer/song-writer's album from the early 70's. It's gonna look amazing on the vinyl.

It's the raised arms that look weird. They were going for edgy haute and got...something else

I’m just confused about why the release date is on it?? I highly doubt that's actually on the real cover. It's fairly common for an album announcement to have the album cover with the date on it somewhere. It's a promotional image.

Hi Nick, Devil Marlena Nylund, and Au$tin: Can you please point me to another example where non-final album artwork with a release date on it was used as the album artwork on all streaming platforms? I know it's cute and fun to assume other people are idiots, but I'm pretty sure you all know what I was actually asking. Thanks!

Hi Nick, Devil Marlena Nylund, and Au$tin: Can you please point me to another example where non-final album artwork with a release date on it was used as the album artwork on all streaming platforms? I realize the other two responses you got weren't helpful, but I was actually trying to be. I know it's cute and fun to assume other people are idiots, but I'm pretty sure you all know what I was actually asking. Thanks! Wow, you took me post out of context. I was not calling you an idiot at all. I guess I just shouldn't help people understand things then? To actually answer your question in this post (though I really don't know if I should now after that reaction), I first need to ask what you mean by "used as the artwork on all streaming platforms." I don't see where the album artwork is being used on streaming platforms, just as a placeholder in areas to preorder the album or anywhere where a promotional image would be used. It's hard to point to an exact example of this being done before when said examples would have been replaced by the actual album cover when released, but I do recall Meghan Trainor's cancelled third album also including the date on its album cover promotional image and it was indeed used in other spots besides an Instagram post, but like I said, it wouldn't be there now since the album was cancelled, so those images wouldn't be there anymore.

I'm so confused. I don't think the release date is actually included on the actual album cover. I think it was included in this case (along with the title) as part of the social media post?? As least I hope so because the font is hideous. Other than that, I don't even know what's going on????

Austin, I'm sorry I lumped you in as calling me an idiot; you're not really who that was directed at. Anyway, on Apple Music, I see the attached image, which means the label submitted this as the album cover. Also, this is pretty irrelevant, but some publications are reporting on the promotional image as if it's final artwork: slate.com/culture/2019/04/carly-rae-jepsen-dedicated-album-art-explanation.html

I see. Well for what it's worth, there was a recent album (for some reason I can't recall who) that just had a black box with a parental advisory sticker as the placeholder on a couple of different sites and when the album released, it was changed. I know Kendrick Lamar did this with his untitled album, but I seem to recall someone else doing it fairly recently.
It's entirely possible for an artist/label to change album art on digital retailers/streaming services at any point, so I'm certain in this case they're just using this promotional image and will change it later. My guess would be the official album artwork is this image without the date and her name placed somewhere on it, but it's also plausible that the official album art hasn't even been released yet! I just can't see the release date being on the actual album art.
...unless the album is actually titled Dedicated May 17?

I'm so glad we're finally all on the same page as to what the fuck I'm talking about.
