What is going on with her voice on this? Did she record it while she was sick?
The song itself isn't the mess I thought it would be, but I'm gonna need her to re-record this before I listen to it more than a few times.

The song is good, but above and beyond from being anywhere as good as many of her other songs or being unique. But hey if it's gives her a hit, I'll take it.

The songs is pretty inoffensive, but her vocals sounds horrible here. Never been a fan of her tone personally, but she sounds super tired in this.

It's ok.. Not a lead single or anything so I am not mad at it. I am surprised at how successful it is though.. It is currently dominating Itunes.

It's a cute song.
Pleasantly surprised by it's iTunes performance!

Anyone know the last time Ludacris had a song go #1 on iTunes?

This is strong. Vocals hella compressed, yes...but it's not like you cant tell someone with God-given talent is singing it, so I won't really complain about that. I'm kinda surprised Ludacris is in this but hey, I've always been a fan of his so win-win if this smashes! I was really feeling those words by the ending.

Why not send this to Pop/HAC?
A year or so ago I wouldnt even entertain that, but now that she's with another label, I would say it's possible. The fact that she recorded a song this "pop" says a lot.
I really hope it's a sign that she'll push a couple of her pop friendly songs to Pop/HAC next era.

Still #1 on iTunes, light green with a good lead Also #162 on Spotify, interesting fit his will rise Cause Country we already know does horrid on streaming, it already did outpeak all of the Storyteller era's singles peaks Her highest solo song is SITW which peaked at #100, while collabs Somethin Bad made it to #45

Perhaps this could debut top 30 on the Hot 100?

This is fire. I love every aspect of the song. Same. It's all around perfection. The way she sings "lights" in the second pre-chorus

Dropped off Spotify, but still #1 on iTunes. It seems to me that a Country remix with FGL handling rap would be a smart move both for country radio and to sell. It's a one-off and obviously there is interest with zero promotion. This bodes well for the track's prospects when the video debuts at SB and when it's used for Olympics.

Well this is a strange move. It's not a bad song but it's by far the poppiest thing Carrie has ever done so I can see it being pretty decisive for that reason. I thought Underwood was against releasing her singles to pop anyways?

^ it’s for the Super Bowl, not her album or country radio.

I really think she should release this to CHR and include it on her upcoming album. The reception so far is pretty great.

I thought Underwood was against releasing her singles to pop anyways? She's not against pop songs. She's against remixing country songs for pop because they're usually not as good as the original. People like Florida Georgia Line and Sam Hunt don't count because they're not country anyway. My personal example is The Band Perry's "If I Die Young" the country version was so much better than that remixed pop version they made.

Carrie's music hasn't needed pop remixes though, it's been pop-friendly enough as presented. It's just that she and/or her label weren't capitalising on her crossover potential. The material was there, the fanbase was there, and BHC crossing over proved the potential was there. Maybe on her new label there will be a more concerted effort to cross her over.
That said, I see no issue with Carrie dabbling in full-on pop if it's for something other than her own projects; like this and 'The Fighter' which is easily far more pop than country despite being a collab with Keith Urban.

I really like this--for an event song anyway. It's pretty similar to "The Fighter." If this and TF are the direction she's headed her for her next album, I'll be satisfied.

Still #1 on iTunes. Surprised at how well this has held the top spot. They should push this to Pop/HAC, with maybe a mix with FGL for country radio as suggested above. Could be a hit for Carrie if they did push it!
Have the say I quite like it after a few listens.

Grew on me tremendously. Never disliked it in the beginning; just found it to be a pretty standard and meets-the-criteria hype song. I’m super, super into this now. The chorus is really strong.
Also I’m stunned at this one’s longevity at #1 on iTunes with damn-near 0 promo. 7 straight days at the top, and it’s surging again, even through “Havana” being discounted and The Cranberries songs resurfacing. I imagine the video during the SB + it being used for the Olympics all of February on NBC will push this to be a huge hit.
Collect your coins, Carrie!

This needs an NBC Olympics video like "Rise." I never liked that song, but the video montage of all the Olympians hits me with all the feels and makes the song feel like this huge, empowering triumph. (Until I listen to it on its own again.)

Justin performed an entire set of songs at the Halftime Show, Pink sang the national anthem yet Carrie gets the post-SB #1 just because of a 2-minute promo video.
Go queen!
