Pulse Rankdown: 2007 Year-End Alternative Chart (WINNER)

SPREADSHIT

1) PM me (that's Pollen ) the top 100 Alternative songs of 2007, all ranked to your preference. (e.g. if you like a song the most, you rank it the highest and vice versa.)
2) As with every other yearly rankdown, the points a song has will be totaled up based on an inverse point system. So, if you rank a song #100, it gets 1 point, and if you rank a song #1, it gets 100 points. All the points from the participants will be totaled up.
3) The due date for submissions is Tuesday, February 6th at 7:00 PM CST. Do NOT expect any extensions, as I am on a fairly tight schedule with this.
4) ALL songs must be ranked. Absolutely no exceptions.

Helloooooooooooo and welcome to the 2007 Alternative rankdown!

I apologize for the delay – this rankdown was supposed to open as soon as 2017 Alt ended, but our original host, Green Baron, was luckily picked by Pulse staff to go on a lifelong vacation to the wonderful, luxurious, and tropical Permaban Island! Because now that he is on vacation, he sadly won't be able to fulfill his duties as our host. We had to scramble to figure out what to do as no one else had enough time to do so, and it took days before we could find an appropriate solution. With all the drama behind us – here we are!

I have decided that I will be hosting our 2007 rankdown while I have down-time between seeds in Wintertime Madness. I wasn't originally planning to host, but I thought what good would I be doing as the incumbent Best Rock Poster at the PMAs if I never hosted a rock-chart rankdown? I make such sacrifices for my fellow rock homies. Vote me for the 2018 PMAs! This is going to be my first rankdown of this mass, so hopefully I don't screw things up!

This Is a pretty stellar list. I think this year a lot of great bands were in their prime (Incubus, Muse, The Killers etc). Save for my dreadful bottom 3, there's something to like in just about everything

I can't believe where I'm finding myself ranking some of these songs...its not fair to have so much goodness in one year. Modern times could never.

I'm 43 songs in and my god I'm absolutely loving it! This is probably the hardest rankdown I've done too. So far, there's only one song that I can say I don't like and only three that I think are decent. As I rank each song out of 5 stars, I already have four songs that I'd rank a 5/5. Typically, on an Active Rankdown for example, I'll be lucky to have more than two.

I'm more fond of the early 2010s than others here seem to be, but this is definitely the best of the 2000s decade rankdowns so far. 2005 and 2006 should be good too.

This is also the second time I'm not tanking a Fall Out Boy song (though one of them here *is* getting tanked). I'll be less kind to most of the other emo-leaning pop-punk songs, along with most of the post-grunge stuff. I will show "Delilah" some mercy.

When I did the 2010 RD, I thought we wouldn't get any Alt list near as strong as that list again until the mid-90s (if we even make it that far). I thought wrong; this list destroys the 2010 list. Here's how I'd rate my list:

1-3: 10/10
4-13: 9/10
14-30: 8/10
31-55: 7/10
56-71: 6/10
72-78: 5/10
79-84: 4/10
85-91: 3/10
92-95: 2/10
97-100: 1/10

I'm actually glad there is no Hinder nor Nickelback this year, This way I can concentrate on my favorite Alternative rock songs instead. There are however, 3 ,rock flavour songs, that I'm gonna have to represent on this list.
