Wow, "High on Love" was robbed!! </3 LOL didn't .indulgecountry predict this would be the highest song from this album? I sure did, and it certainly should've been that way, too. Kanenrá:ke also predicted that one same as me.

Oh wow, the last 3 reveals each separated by only one point... What a tight race this section was!!! to give a little bit of info about the next 5 songs: #35 has 522 points #34 has 518 points #33 has 511 points #32 has 456 points #31 has 446 points #34 through #38 were all very close! within 10 points of one another! Within the next 5 we will see another album be completely eliminated! At least 1 Duet will leave us! My #11 leaves which is a single that did not peak very high but has been a favorite of mine since I heard it in the '90's! This is also the 2nd single to be eliminated from the album it is from. 2 different albums will lose their 2nd single/song! An album that has lost 2 singles will lose another! I might be able to post one or two songs tomorrow night but I won't be able to post much regardless. Friday night I will definitely get a few more reveals in!

Kanenrá:ke also predicted that one same as me. Okay, but the amazingness that is "To Have You Back Again" is also on that album... Which I figured would be pretty hard to beat! I did think "High On Love" would put up a bit more of a fight at least though

Is the Travis Tritt duet still in? I think we're gonna say goodbye to "Out Of Control Raging Fire" next if we haven't already! I agree that’s the next duet likely to be eliminated. Also I think “The Nights Too Young” and “The Last Thing On My Mind” will be leaving soon.

"The Last Thing On My Mind" better not be leaving soon. :(
I'm shocked "Strong Heart" was able to make it as far as it did. It's so boring, like one of the most boring singles I've ever heard in country.
Pleasantly surprised "I Wanna Believe" made it further than I thought it would. Still love it and wish it had held longer.

It took me until the Patty Loveless rankdown to warm up to "High on Love" (already liked "To Have You Back Again"). I gotta come up with another strategy for doing these rankdowns. Initially hoped my #1 could make the top 5, but now I'm lowering my expectations to making the top 20 instead!

I'm not going to continuing posting the lyrics as I feel it is just a bit too much. If anyone really likes them and wants me to add them back in I can but I think it is better off not being a thing.

I'll get us to the Top 30 if anyone is on now but I need to go to bed within the hour so maybe not lol. I'll probably post at least one more song tonight. Tomorrow night I think I'm going to spotlight her MCA albums.

This came a lot farther than I expected it to. I couldn't really get into this one. It was just kinda there for me. Pretty surprised to see some really high rankings for it.

"Out of Control Raging Fire" is a song I enjoy but don't love and that is why it is lower on my list. I do think it overstayed.
I love "Like Water Into Wine" and have ever since the first time I heard it. Big fan of Gretchen Peters and she has written many songs that I absolutely love and this one is no exception to that. Was shocked by the low rankings for it as I really feel it is one of her stronger ballads.

Yeah, listening now, this song is super catchy, but I think I probably overranked it. It's definitely not better than several songs that I put beneath it that I have started to love since submitting my list... Lol. But still, it IS really good, so the amount of hate here is surprising! It's just a nice straightforward catchy country jam from the late '80s/early '90s. "Like Water Into Wine" is one that started out super pretty, but kinda started to lose me by the end. Definitely would not have complained to see it place higher though. Glad "Out Of Control Raging Fire" is finally gone... Lol. Her whole bluegrass phase may be technically good, or maybe even great, but I get absolutely no enjoyment from it compared to the more neo-trad country sound that made people like her and Travis Tritt famous. I am glad that "Cheap Whiskey" outlasted the rest of that phase, because it is an incredible song, but it can leave anytime now tbh...

I probably underranked this one, but I’m not a fan of Chris Young at all and don’t get his appeal. He’s just so bland :|

I was a little underwhelmed with this song because of how wonderful Patty and Chris both are. The song is just fine of course, but I just feel like it could have been a LOT more epic. I am totally fine seeing it leave here.

I felt the same about "Strong Heart" and you ranked it pretty high lol I always loved her vocal on "Like Water Into Wine" but do wish it was a little less "sleepy" for lack of a better term. But I love it still.

I love "Love Don't Get Me Down" and I think they both sound great together. One thing I love about Patty's voice is that it really meshes well with most other vocalist (not named Dwight Yoakam that is). One thing I would have loved to see is a duet of her with Martina McBride, or with Reba McEntire. Either of those two pairings would be amazing!
Anyways lets talk about our Top 30!
Honky Tonk Angel:
"Timber, I'm Falling In Love" and "Chains" are the only two remaining singles (out of 5) and they both happen to be her first two #1 hits!
On Down The Line:
This album has only lost one single so far and the first 3 singles, "On Down The Line", "The Night's Too Long", and "I'm That Kind of Girl", are all still in this!
Up Against My Heart
Like the previous album this one has only lost 1 single so far. However this one only has two singles remaining since it only had 3 singles released from it. This happens to be her final MCA album as well. "Hurt Me Bad (In A Real Good Way" and "Jealous Bone" are the remaining songs from here
Only What I Feel
Her first album with Epic saw her return to #1 for her 3rd time with "Blame It On Your Heart". It also featured other singles "Nothin' But The Wheel", "You Will", and "How Can I Help You Say Goodbye". Nothing has been eliminated from this album yet.
When Fallen Angels Fly
The 1995 Album of the Year winner has yet to lose a song yet. "I Try To Think About Elvis", "Here I Am", "You Don't Even Know Who I Am", and "Halfway Down" all remain
The Trouble With The Truth
joining her previous two albums this one has also not lost a song yet. "You Can Feel Bad", "A Thousand Times A Day", "Lonely Too Long", "She Drew A Broken Heart", and "The Trouble With The Truth" are all still in this
Long Stretch of Lonesome
This album has lost half of its singles so far. Only ones remaining are her duet with George Jones "You Don't Seem To Miss Me" and "To Have You Back Again".
Classics
This album has one single remaining, its lead single "Can't Get Enough"
Strong Heart
"That's The Kind of Mood I'm In" and "The Last Thing On My Mind" are both in this
Mountain Soul
her bluegrass outings have not fared too well in this. How much longer can the last song from either project make it. "Cheap Whiskey" is the highest one remaining while is also the only song from one of her albums to not be a single.
On Your Way Home
lead single "Lovin' All Night" and "On Your Way Home" still remain!
Dreamin' My Dreams
"Keep Your Distance" still hangs in there as the only single from this superb album
EXTRA
George Strait's duet "House Of Cash" remains the only duet not from one of her albums to remain. How much longer can this one last opposite her own singles!
Will be posting some album highlights tonight as well as getting us to the Top 25!

Track listing1 ~ "Lonely Days, Lonely Nights" (Karen Staley) 2 ~ "I Did" (Patty Loveless) 3 ~ "You Are Everything" (Guy Clark, Keith Sykes) 4 ~ "Blue Is Not a Word" (Jo-El Sonnier, Judy Ball) 5 ~ "Slow Healing Heart" (Jim Rushing) 6 ~ "After All" (Jimbeau Hinson, Harry Stinson) 7 ~ "Wicked Ways" (Karen Staley) 8 ~ "Half Over You" (Karen Staley) 9 ~ "Some Blue Moons Ago" (Steve Earle, Richard Bennett) 10 ~ "Sounds of Loneliness" (Patty Loveless) PLACEMENTS: "Lonely Days, Lonely Nights" - #42 "Wicked Ways" - #47 "I Did" - #52 "After All" - #53 While being the lowest ranked single "After All" holds the distinction of being the only single from this album to get any Top 10 rankings. Kanenrá:ke ranked this as his #9! Near the end of 1985 Patty Loveless released her debut single for MCA Records. A second single was released shortly after "Lonely Days, Lonely Nights" peaked at #46 in January of 1986. "I Did" was pulled from radio shortly after that because the label felt it was taking away from other releases they had out at the time. This lead to the label signing her to an album contract and her debut self-titled album was released in January of 1987. "Wicked Ways" was technically the first single released from the album even though "Lonely Days, Lonely Nights" was included on the album. That single peaked at #49 and the next single was the re-release of "I Did". At this time though this single did not take off and peaked at #56. The final single released from the album was "After All". This single would become her highest peaking single at the time, making it to #43! Both Vince Gill and Lyle Lovett featured on background vocals on this album! This album was produced by Tony Brown and her future husband Emory Gordy, Jr. Track #10 would later be reprised on her bluegrass album Mountain Soul where it was reworked in that style. Alright everyone I'm gonna post more albums tomorrow night and get us down to at least the Top 25 if not the Top 20! More participation the more results come tomorrow night! For now a couple questions: What songs are you surprised the most made the Top 30? What songs are you most surprised to see miss the Top 30? Which duet will last the longest: "You Don't Seem To Miss Me" or "House of Cash"? What album will be next to be fully eliminated? How much further will "Cheap Whiskey" make it? Which album with multiple singles will be the first to lose one that hasn't already? (Only What I Feel, When Fallen Angels Fly, or The Trouble with the Truth) Oh and a little hint about tomorrow nights guaranteed reveals of 30 through 26...someone is losing their #1! What songs are you surprised the most made the Top 30? "Can't Get Enough" and "The Trouble with the Truth"
What songs are you most surprised to see miss the Top 30? "High on Love" and "The Lonely Side of Love" both surprised me a bit.
Which duet will last the longest: "You Don't Seem To Miss Me" or "House of Cash"? "House of Cash"
What album will be next to be fully eliminated? Mountain Soul or Classics
How much further will "Cheap Whiskey" make it? I see it going pretty soon, like within the next 5 reveals, honestly.
Which album with multiple singles will be the first to lose one that hasn't already? (Only What I Feel, When Fallen Angels Fly, or The Trouble with the Truth) Gonna guess it'll be Truth that loses a single first.

What songs are you surprised the most made the Top 30? I'm a little surprised "Can't Get Enough" and "House Of Cash" made it this high. For the former because I didn't think it was that liked, and the latter is more George than Patty so I thought that may get some lower rankings.
What songs are you most surprised to see miss the Top 30? "If My Heart Had Windows", "A Little Bit In Love", and "High On Love" I thought would all make it at least this far.
Which duet will last the longest: "You Don't Seem To Miss Me" or "House of Cash"? It should be YDSTMM but I think the big George fans participating may help boost HOC.
What album will be next to be fully eliminated? Classics
How much further will "Cheap Whiskey" make it? I'd say it goes in the next 5 or so as well.
Which album with multiple singles will be the first to lose one that hasn't already? (Only What I Feel, When Fallen Angels Fly, or The Trouble with the Truth) I think OWIF will be the first to lose a single.
I feel fully confident my #1 isn't the first to go either!

One thing I would have loved to see is a duet of her with Martina McBride, or with Reba McEntire. Either of those two pairings would be amazing! She has definitely done more duets with males. We do have some nice songs where she either has a female doing harmony vocals, or where another female is doing harmony vocals, though. I like Miranda’s “Dear Diamond” and Patty’s own “You Don’t Know How Lucky You Are” with Alison Krauss. I am truly shocked “Can’t Get Enough” is still in this thing.
