I watched Body of Evidence!! Tbh I thought it was mediocre, certainly not as heinous as most reviews/comments had made it out to be, it was basically a weaker Basic Instinct. I found Madge's acting uneven but I've seen her act much worse (Swept Away). Willem Dafoe was my favorite part about the whole thing. Also, I thought the sex scenes were really good. Do y'all like this movie?
I think I'll watch Dick Tracy next. 😊

Basic Instinct was such a great movie, so I agree about Body of Evidence.

"La Isla Bonita" has really endured, even outside its understandable YT presence. "Open Your Heart" not being on here is a bid sad to me. It, "Cherish," "Justify My Love," and "Who's That Girl" are her Hot 100 #1s not in this top 20. "Vogue" isn't doing poorly, but I'd think it would do even better.

hanks for posting those stats here, areyouready. Do some other acts have multiple official uploads of some videos, that are the exact same, or is M, like, the only one? jeng- "Cherish" spent two weeks at No. 2 on the Hot 100, though was No. 1 on both Radio & Records and CashBox. The song does so-so in recurrent airplay, though "Open Your Heart" usually ranks among her 10 most-played on U.S. radio, at last check. Dreams- Basic Instinct is a better film than Body of Evidence. I haven't watched the latter in years. I still haven't watched Shanghai Surprise or Swept Away, along with some of the cameo films. Plus, Bloodhounds of Broadway. I like her in Dick Tracy- on a related note, that smoldering Oscars performance of "Sooner or Later" is everything and then some.

Peacock has all past episodes of SNL. Usually SNL edits out music performances when they post old episodes, due to music rights clearance.
Madonna hosted the Season 11 premiere. She was the host and the musical guest was Simple Minds. I remember watching this when it aired. I also recall the episode was really bad. Peacock must have thought the same thing as the episode is edited down to 19 minutes. Not only did they edit out Simple Minds, they edited out Madonna! She appears for a total of 5 seconds to introduce a segment with Penn&Teller. That’s it! Why bother posting the episode at all?

As said, "Cherish" was No. 1 on two other key charts (one of her 15 No. 1s at top 40 radio, the most of any act at the format). "Material Girl" is another one that topped both R&R and CashBox. "Express Yourself" also topped CashBox, though peaked at No. 3 on R&R (for four big weeks).
MX- true at that, in why it bothered to post any of that episode.

Do some other acts have multiple official uploads of some videos, that are the exact same, or is M, like, the only one? Mariah has at least one. There are two versions of the "Without You" live performance that was the video on her channel. I think there are 2-3 videos of Celine's "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" that are the same.

Cherish is top tier, the public needs to wake up. It's pure. One of her best songs EVER! I really question her fucking taste at times. I know she has called this song dumb and when some fan, a few years ago during an interview/meeting with fans kind of thing that she did with Jimmy Fallon, brought it up as a potential part of her setlist she was like “yeah...no.” Madge, sis... 😒

she is so sultry in the Cherish video, too. Such a pure pop song. And the way it transitioned into Oh Father on the album is just legendary. And omg Oh Father is amazing, too!

Oh Father is a masterpiece. It’s like a mini movie. Editing, photography, sets, directing is top notch. Team Madonna and David Fincher at their earliest best.

It also peaked at the runner up spot of my personal chart, and had pretty good longevity. I consider it part of a great old-school-inspired trifecta of gems: Angel, True Blue, Cherish. These were among my mom’s (very few) favorites from Madonna. I love True Blue the most out of the three tho. Re the album transitions, side B was great, but the order is different. After the sweetness of cherish, we go to the joyous lullaby of Dear Jessie, which then transitions splendidly to Oh father with the juxtaposition of strings :)

Any fans of Till Death Do Us Part here? I do think it's the best song on LAP album. I just read some exchanges on our favorite non-singles. TDDUP is my all time favorite song by M that wasn’t released as a US or European single. A caveat is that it was actually released as a single in the #1 pop radio station in Peru, peaking in the top 5. It reached the top of my weekly personal chart and finished in the top 5 of my yearned chart. It’s my second favorite song of the LAP album, which in turn is my favorite M album. Other favorite album tracks that reached the top 5 of my personal chart: - Gambler (if considered an album chart) - White heat - Love makes the world go round (I know, but this was a Latin bop!) - Can’t stop - Spanish eyes - Inside of me - Another suitcase another hall - Sky fits heaven - To have or not to hold - Impressive instant - Nobody knows me - Isaac - Masterpiece - Gang bang - Devil pray

I love when her videos hit certain milestones. It's something to look forward to since she's not really on the charts anymore. Also, once a video hits 1 million, you can finally see daily views on Kworb, so below are her next videos approaching 1 million. If you have free time during the month of February let's get these to 1 million.
Madonna - 4 Minutes (Live from the Sticky & Sweet Tour)942,723
Madonna - You Must Love Me (Official Music Video)885,148
Madonna - Paradise (Not for Me) (The Drowned World Tour 2001)880,661

"Till Death Do Us Part" is one of my favorite M tracks- firmly steady in my top 5.
M doesn't do happy/sunny songs often, though if she dusted off "True Blue" after nearly 30 years of not performing it, there's hope for "Cherish." :)
