^ agreed It’s ok to comment on her looks with freedom of speech and all but to be very nasty, childish and jumping on the bandwagon just to bash Madonna’s face is hurtful and disrespectful to her and her family. Social media has become so cruel these days.

Man... I'm tired already of the news about Madonna's appearance at the Grammy! Every time I go to Facebook or Instagram there's a new article about it. People are being really nasty with her with comments and memes. For M to write a response to all this, she must have been really pissed and disappointed. She must have been feeling fabulous and so confident and sure about her Art Basel look to decide to do it again. I guess she didn't expect this reaction. I know I know, she's strong and all and this will go down in history as one of the hundreds of incidents of its kind, but deep inside here and there she's shown before her vulnerable part and this one really pissed her off (and perhaps hurt her even though she can hide it well). She's human after all. Totally agree. And I love her to death, but hoping this will kind of wake her up and realize she doesn't need to do anymore regarding her face. I always felt she looks fine in paparazzi photos, even recently.

Once again, Madonna has people talking, much like she has done since the '80s. People were long debating/discussing what she was doing in her music, videos, stage performances, what she was wearing, etc. etc. Social media is the only difference now, where negative people can spew their vitriol so easily. I shudder to think how it would have been had social media been around in the '80s and '90s.

All this doesn't really bother me. I was an MJ fan back when people used to trash him on a daily basis over his looks. I'm sure it doesn't bother M either. The positive side of all this is that all the controversy over her face got M a huge streaming surge. Controversy = streaming surge. Whenever social media talks about an artist, for whatever reason, they get a streaming surge.
Her tour is selling good, her streaming numbers are up... M is doing well.

^Totally agree. She is still making money in her 60's. She could easily retire if she wanted to.

even my coworkers who got nosebleeds and is 49 years old said to me today..."are you sure you want to see Madonna up close? Did you see you at the Grammys?" I was taken aback by that. I immediately corrected her and told her to watch the backstage video from the same night where she looked fabulous. It still made me very sad, and she has tickets!

Shania Twain praises Madonna's 'liberated spirit' after criticism of star's face at Grammys www.itv.com/news/2023-02-09/shania-twain-praises-madonnas-liberated-spirit-after-criticism-of-her-face"I think that is her liberated spirit and she can just look however she wants to look. Yeah there is enough criticism in the world I think. "It is good to be comfortable in your own skin whatever that is. That is certainly the way I am feeling anyway. "I am finally getting comfortable in my own skin - I am certainly not going to pay too much attention to criticism. "I am not going to like let that get in my way. Not now. Life is only getting shorter, right?" Twain added that women now have "more space" to express themselves in the industry and there are more opportunities than there were in the past - though there is a "long way to go still".

When you do so much work on your face, people will talk. It ALWAYS starts to look unnatural and it’s been proven time and time again.
Something switched in the early mid 00s, 2013/2014.

It still made me very sad, and she has tickets! yeah, it’s sad people think that way to this day, but it just goes to show you a lot of people still think that way and the world isn’t as woke as hollywood would like us to believe. Hopefully one day we’ll all become less of an a**. Lol I was at my ex’s family dinner table a few times where they’d talk about certain celebs who had work done! And I would always say, well it is their money and their body, so who are we to say anything. Most of them would just roll their eyes and the conversation would end…thankfully. But still, it’s so gross. Who are we to judge someone else’s choices? She’s not hurting anyone, except for maybe herself. Because she looked amazing before all this, but again, if she’s not happy, then let her be happy other ways.

I like the remix, but much like the Frozen remixes, they are almost like a Dub mix. Most of the verses are removed and it is very short. I just want more.

This lacks the substance that I need for a song like that. My go-to is still the Pet Shop Boys mix from the original single and the Finally Enough Love collection. This is one of several instances in Madonna's vast catalogue where a remix of the song surpassed the original for me.

I agree, and I think a lot of the criticism she has been getting comes from a place not of mocking her old age but simply saying that she has gone too far and doesn't need to have all the work she has had done. I think in the clip from The View Wolfy posted above, Sarah Haines said it very well: people weren't really saying she didn't look young enough, they were just saying she looks unrecognizable and is simply trying too hard, and that her claiming to be a "trailblazer" and "making it easier for women behind her in the years to come" isn't accurate. Sorry, but she is only making it harder by setting this extreme example of perpetual plastic surgery and hyper-beauty filters, that this is what you have to do to your face once you become old, and she is actually only perpetuating and being subservient to the patriarchy she is claiming to be fighting. She can absolutely do what she wants to her face, but we are allowed to call things out for what they are, and I don't think it comes from a place of hate or mocking her.

VOGUE Magazine www.vogue.co.uk/arts-and-lifestyle/article/madonna-plastic-surgery“Over the past few days, the 64-year-old has been targeted by trolls who – rather than focus on the groundbreaking moment when she introduced a performance by non-binary musician Sam Smith and transgender singer Kim Petras at the Grammys, of which she’s won seven over a four-decade career – would rather point and laugh at her “unrecognisable” face and speculate about what plastic surgery she may have had. A society that considers whether we feel good about ourselves and not just how we look? Now that really would be something to shout about on social media.”

I don't dislike it, but it's not really a song I go back to often. It was a pretty big hit all over the world except for here. I think the fact that she is saying Sorry in many languages helps its international appeal. The PSB remixes were definitely better, I agree. I always think of the song Deeper and Deeper when I hear this song. Like it was a fun twirl when I first heard it, but it wore off very quickly for me and I rarely go back to it.

I love the attitude in "Sorry"- very M, and it was fun to dance to and such when it was out. Though also not one of my favorites.

Add this to the set list just because it’s appropriate, Madonna. ❤️

I'm so old that I had the original 12" single that had two mixes on it...one side was the U.S. Remix of Borderline and the flip side was the US mix of Lucky Star. I remember getting it at Jack's Music Shop in Red Bank, NJ. I was all of 14 :) Here is what I bought..still have it! www.discogs.com/master/5473-Madonna-Borderlineand just for fun, I have this 12" maxi as well. I was 13 and I bought it at the same place in Red Bank. Jack's Music was amazing for 12" singles. Fast Side was Burning Up Slow Side Physical Attraction Both were remixes / extended. www.discogs.com/release/103408-Madonna-Burning-Up-Physical-Attraction

Although I didn't buy them back in the day, but later in the early 2000s I think. I didn't have in Peru record stores those days that would sell maxi singles like those. And as a kid it would've been hard anyway to afford and import purchase.

Waiting for JOJO SIWA DERANGEMENT SYNDROME or somebody else to chime in about this new Borderline streaming maxi with the deets. 2. ??? (7" Version? Album Version? Edit?) 3:58 I could be full of s**t but it sounded like the QSound Mix to me 🤷♂️ Every time you post, I hear Madonna saying "God?" at the beginning of the "Like a Prayer" Q Sound Mix from TIC.

The true original 7” version was on the Japanese "CD Single Collection." It is the version from the original 7” single. The version on The Immaculate Collection has the same edit points and structure. The actual 7” version is an edit of the U.S. Mix. I have to listen to the one that they’re going to put up for the streaming release to see if it’s the real one or if it is the QSound mix
