Madonna has given very little love to Rain and to This Used to Be My Playground herself. She has not performed Rain in 27 years and has never performed TUTBMYP. She did one proper performance of Justify during the Girlie Show, otherwise its been an interlude, which was incredible. I just find it very strange the way she revisits her back catalogue when she tours. You get the same songs over and over again, but others she just ignores. She has a huge repertoire that she could really pull from to change it up, but she doesn't. Three tours in a row for "Candy Shop" but no Rain or Justify My Love or Playground? Let alone songs like "Bad Girl" or "I'll Remember" or a revisit to "Keep it Together."

We don't get the same songs over and over again; a select amount may be from tour to tour, though there's really not heavy overlap. She brought "True Blue" and "Who's That Girl" back in 2015 after a 28-year break. :) And "Borderline" and "Dress You Up" in 2008-2009, after 23 and 22 years, respectively. Of course, re-Invention had many that hadn't been performed in some time, but that's because the prior tour, understandably, was focused on the more recent music. (Of note is that "Rain" was an interlude video on the Sticky & Sweet Tour, though a full-on performance would be nice, too, as it would be for other neglected hits.)
Wish she would have performed "Rescue Me" on MX, though it's more vocally demanding than some other songs (outsode of the spoken bits, which would be the record, anyhow).

I don't think she does "Bad Girl" live because of how vocally demanding that one is. Though it could be re-arranged at a lower key. The one live performance she did on SNL was incredible though.
"Rain" is one that I would love to hear performed live again too. That Girlie Show performance was magical with Niki and Donna.

Pastor- yes, the GS "Rain" performance was great- those harmonies, and weaving "Just My Imagination" into it. "Bad Girl," in some form, could have fit nicely somewhere in Act 1 of the MDNA Tour.

Madge knocked it out of the park on that SNL performance. Watched it right now (hadn't seen it in years) and wow! "Bad Girl" is one of her all time best songs tbh.

Let alone songs like "Bad Girl" or "I'll Remember" or a revisit to "Keep it Together." Sometimes I think that because her voice has "changed" over time that she is scared of some of her songs. I was thinking that too. Not only changed, but some of her songs were pitched upward in the studio, so it is kind of hard to replicate live. She would need to bring them down an octave. "Angel" is one of her songs on LAV that isn't pitched up as much as the other songs. In fact, the verse sounds like her regular range. I also notice that the singles she mostly ignores are the ballads...not ALL, but a good number. Some of her neglected ballads that I would LOVE to see performed are: -Oh Father -Bad Girl -Take a Bow (she performed on some Asian dates of Rebel Heart tour) -I'll Remember -Rain -Power of Goodbye -You'll See (select dates of Drowned World Tour...I was lucky enough to attend one of those dates) -This Used to be My Playground Some of her neglected more uptempo songs: -Cherish -Angel -Everybody -Borderline -Physical Attraction (total pipe dream here) -Where's the Party -Keep it Together -Secret After the Drowned World Tour, it felt like she pretty much performed her entire new albums on her tours (yes, I know some tracks were left out) but the albums do not feel under represented. After her injuries on the Madame X Tour and the fact that she is going to be 62, I am not sure how many high energy tours she has left in her. I would not mind at all if she did a tour heavily focused on her ballads and her medium-tempo pop hits combined with some amazing digital / video displays. All depends on where she goes with her next album and what inspires her I guess.

I'm surprised "Love Makes the World Go Round" wasn't released as the final single (or at all, actually) given she had performed it on Live Aid a year earlier too. It was actually supposed to be the first single from the album...which makes it even more odd. It went from consideration as the first single to not being even the 5th. Btw, I was in a youtube hole listening to her early tracks. Here is what is supposed to be the "No Pitch Version" of Like a Virgin. Basically, remove the studio trickery that raised her voice in pitch and presents it with her real voice...I actually like her vocals better as it sounds more natural and how we are used to hearing her. So much better! I’m sure Material Girl would sound better as well

^In some spots, it's not much difference, but in others, it is- nice contrast to what ended up as the final recording.
M and Nile Rodgers stuck to the vocal style from the original songwriters' demo- it fit her snug like a glove.

Tbh I’d be here for another collaboration between them, Madge & Nile Rodgers, for her next record. They are both still capable of magic.

From what I can tell, it was TIC version. After walking down the runway, I liked Michelle's response to when when Ru asked, "Do you believe in love?" "I've got somethin' to say about it, but we'll have to start paying royalties," or something to that effect. :)
Other M songs used for past lip syncs include "Vogue," "Express Yourself," "Causing a Commotion" and "Burning Up."

I remember this came out when I was in HS. I was about 16. I had the 12" single. I remember when it first came out, everyone thought it was Madonna because she was emulating her vocals so much. Though Madonna was riding high with "Live to Tell" when this song came out. Not to get too far off track, but this song was covered by Danii Minogue (Sister of Kylie). But to take it full circle back to Madonna, Danni Minogue had a hit song called "Don't Wanna Lose this Feeling." The song was then promoted with a mashup with "Into the Groove" and called "Don't Wanna Lose This Groove." Anyway, happy 4th! Attachment Deleted

On a different note, I was reading the wikipedia entry on all the unreleased Madonna songs. Unreleased Madonna SongsI was reading about a song called "Indian Summer" that she recorded in 1995 but then scrapped. They ended up using part of in a Japanese commercial she did for Takara. I had seen this commercial before but didn't pay attention to the song. love the visuals.

Bedtime Stories deserves so much more love. Secret is an absolute masterpiece; vocally, production the video. It's one of her very best. Throw in Human Nature, Survival and of course the gorgeous Take a Bow. It's strange bc Take a Bow was a huge hit, as was Secret. Why is Bedtime Stories seemingly so forgotten?

Wow @ LAV! I didn't think this would be her most streamed album. And to think most fans rank it in the lower tier of her discography...

It’s blasphemous that Erotica and Bedtime Story are so low. Meh.

This song was a top 5 hit back home in Lima -and in my personal chart :) I really liked the music and melody. This was considered one of several Madonnabes, like Alisha and Stacey Q.

I like Frozen, Ray of Light and Nothing Really Matters but that was about it from the ROL album. My two favorite albums are Bedtime Stories and Music. Obviously the title track but I Deserve It is one of Madonna's best and heartfelt. Don't Tell Me was so cool and different. Impressive Instant was amazing. I love that whole album

Dreams- LAV is a decent sophomore effort, though I don't think it tanks so high because most think of it as her best work. It houses two hugely iconic hits; toss in "Dress you Up," and those three songs probably account for a good portion of the album's total.
BS is a decent album, too- though she was working with hot mainstream R&B producers, whereas with ROL, her primary collaborator was not mainstream. Plus, ROL was more experimental, thematic throughout (the BS track did foreshadow what was to come, somewhat).
