The "Popular" video looks to be doing pretty well. Per Kworb, it's upย 25 spots to No. 12 on the global most-viewed in the past 25 hours, with 2.388 million views. Those are unfiltered numbers, but, still, strong. YouTube Daily Top Music Videos- Feb. 24(this info may be for Feb. 23, as it's a new entry on all the charts) Global: No. 20 USA: No. 10 UK: No. 4 Canada: No. 1ย

When I saw this in the recent Hot 100 thread, I was wondering where Madonna was, but since it was only 16 years between Like A Virgin and Music, it does not make the list. Then I realized if M were to get a #1 song now, that she would make the list right under the Beach Boys.
Longest Spans of Hot 100 No. 1s:
Brenda Lee โ 63 years, five months, three weeks (July 18, 1960-Jan. 6, 2024) Mariah Carey โ 33 years, four months, three weeks (Aug. 4, 1990-Dec. 30, 2023) Cher โ 28 years, five months (Nov. 6, 1971-April 3, 1999) Elton John โ 24 years, 11 months, one week (Feb. 3, 1973-Jan. 10, 1998) Beach Boys โ 24 years, four months (July 4, 1964-Nov. 5, 1988) Michael Jackson โ 22 years, 10 months, three weeks (Oct. 14, 1972-Sept. 2, 1995) Stevie Wonder โ 22 years, six months (Aug. 10, 1963-Feb. 8, 1986) Rod Stewart โ 22 years, four months (Oct. 2, 1971-Feb. 5, 1994) Beyoncรฉ โ 20 years, seven months, three weeks (July 12, 2003-March 2, 2024) Aretha Franklin โ 19 years, 10 months, two weeks (June 3, 1967-April 18, 1987) Notably, in looking at actsโ group and solo careers combined, Beyoncรฉโs span of appearing atop the Hot 100 stretches 24 years, seven months and two weeks, from the first week at No. 1 for Destinyโs Childโs โBills, Bills, Billsโ (July 17, 1999) through this weekโs takeover on top for โTexas Hold โEm.โ Similarly among the acts above, Cherโs career span including Sonny & Cher and her solo No. 1s would encompass 33 years, seven months and two weeks (1965-99) and Michael Jacksonโs Jackson 5 and solo output would span 25 years, seven months and a week (1970-95).

It would be 39 years, she'd be under Brenda Lee!

Not sure why Luther's photo would be used for that segment. The photo was removed for the most recent performance. A Vandross rep said he was never diagnosed with AIDS or the HIV virus. So why would she or anyone on her team include it, when nothing was ever mentioned publicly? There may have been rumors, though they shouldn't be going off of that. Even if they had "inner circle" knowledge.

Even if they had "inner circle" knowledge. Glad she removed it because it was extremely poor taste and bad judgment and disrespectful to his family and legacy. Obviously, she didn't intend any of that, but, as we learn at my company on an annual basis, perception > intent. While it was an open secret that Luther was gay, NO one has said he died of AIDS or had HIV. In fact, he died from stroke complications.

What people needs to know is that AIDS Memorial compiled that segment so if there's someone to blame, there it is.

RuPaul seems like they are just as bitter as Boy George and Elton John and have to bring up Madonna's name for attention.

What's the overall consensus among Madonna fans of the I'm Breathless soundtrack?
I'm kinda obsessed with Hanky Panky, Back In Business and More... I think it's fun and different

I think it's fun and different I love it, but don't revisit it often. Some of the songs for the movie are so catchy like "More" and "Now I'm Following You." It's a nice departure from her usual dance pop avenues.

I'm Breathless is not so much a soundtrack, as it is a concept album of songs inspired by Dick Tracy. Only three of the songs M performs appear in the film ("Sooner or Later," "More" and "What Can You Lose"), with another ("Now I'm Following You") sung by a male in the film.
P had a decent week on YouTube; however, it should see sizable declines next week.

I think it's fun and different I listened to it in full for the first time a few years back and I enjoyed it for what it was but it's nothing I would really specifically seek out beyond a few specific songs.

I don't revisit the album that much either...but my absolute faves are "Something To Remember" (so relatable!), "Now I'm Following You", "Hanky Panky", and of course, "Vogue".

"Hanky Panky" made Top 10 on Pop. Imagine that. So did "Don't Cry For Me Argentina". Came and went pretty fast, but at least it came! lol

The main attraction of I'm Breathless for me is how rich her voice sounds. Presumably "Rescue Me" was recorded in the same time period, and she sounds great on it too.
