Loving these '80s rankdown series you're doing! Definitely gonna do them ALL, I love 80s Pop. Heavy synths, funky bassline, everything a Pop song should have had.

Someone has got to represent Glam/Hair Metal here, so It definitely has to be me. Count me in.

Billboard's Top Songs of 1988
Seeing as though this is a big rankdown with 100 songs I am going to make the deadline for this November 17, 2018.
1. Inverse Point system will be used (i.e. rank singles 1-100).
2. You must rank all the singles (if there's a remix you prefer, you can use that for your ranking instead, you don't have to specify whether you did)
3. PM me your rankings. Please do not use numbers. I will know the first song on your list is No. 1 and so on...it makes it easier for me when I spreadsheet it.
4. Submissions will be due by November 17, 2018.
5. Manage your time wisely please. Deadlines are deadlines. I will send plenty of reminders, don't worry...

I'll try to do this one, but I only know less than half of these. :(
I also plan on having my first personal rankdown open by that time, but there may not be that much interference if any.

1985's not even closed for submissions yet, and we're skipping '86 and '87? Can I call '89 (my birth year)?

I really want to do this one but I’m intimidated by the sheer number of songs!

What the hell happened to 1985, 1986 and 1987? I submitted my list for 1985 several weeks ago, but I've heard nothing since.

The reveal for 1985 will start next week, deadline is April 21st for submissions so that’s why you haven’t heard anything yet...and I honestly do not feel like hosting every 80’s year (I had planned to do every year but '83 was started by someone else). I'm thinking about switching to some 90’s years after this...maybe.

Will go thru this as there are a few that I'm not familiar with. Sad that so many are no longer with us (Dusty, George H, George M, Michael Hutchence, Michael J, Natalie, Robert Palmer, Roger, Patrick Swayze, Whitney) Some artists were on the charts at the same time as their ex-bandmates (Bobby Brown, Peter Cetera and David Lee Roth) Attachment Deleted

We'll see. 1988 was full of songs that seem lame and dated and, as a result, I'm not really a big fan of this year.

So...I've officially decided to place this on the back-burner for now and proceed with Billboard 1986 and Billboard 1987 first.
Sorry for any confusion!
This will for sure be done before the end of the year...I'd say it'll kick into gear again for November...
Don't worry, anyone who has submitted for this rankdown I will still honor your lists.
If you wish to make changes just send a new list to me...I received submissions from:

I may end up passing on this one as I'm already working on nearly a dozen RDs atm, but I'll still give it a try...

A lot of these made my 1987 charts. At least the Hair Metal vibe was strong this year.

EXTRA: "Under The Milky Way" - The ChurchHot 100 peak: #24 This song is pretty good. It and "Beds Are Burning" are just a couple of reasons why Billboard started their Alternative (née Modern Rock) chart that year.
