EXTRA: "Chains Of Love" - Erasure Top 100 Peak: #12 Super disappointed this didn't make the year-end chart. Would've been in my top 10 easily.

Their follow up, A Little Respect is a favourite of mine too.
Peaked at #14 in '88.

EXTRA: "It's The End Of The World As We Know It (& I Feel Fine)" - REM Hot 100 Peak: #69 It would have been fun to rate this song and Art of Noise w Tom Jones's Kiss. Curious to see how well they would have done.

What an amazing list of participants. I hope this makes up for an interesting rankdown and not just the same old same old. I'm tired of the same names at the top and vice a versa.

3. Which artist/group will have the most Top 40 entries? INXS

2. What songs do you expect to see in the bottom-5? I Don't Wanna Live Without Your Love, I Don't Wanna Live Without You, Groovy Kind of Love, Wait, One Good Woman (Typical Chicago bashing lol; only one of these in my bottom 5)

1. George Michael 2x, Guns 'n Roses probably, Bobby Brown and one INXS song hopefully, and maybe a really unexpected one-off like Shattered Dreams.
2. Probably UB40. I don't see Peter Cetera or Chicago faring well - if they're not out by bottom five, they'll likely be gone by bottom 10. I'm curious to see what everyone else does with Samantha Fox too - personally I think that song is too on the nose but it's kind of got that 'so bad it's funny' quality that might make some people rank it a bit higher. Unfortunately I don't see either my #99 or #100 leaving first. There's about 20-30 songs worth of inoffensive filler that could go early simply due to lack of memorability.
3. Probably George Michael. Maybe INXS can tie him.
I see already that I am going to have to fight a few people about my top 10, lol.

"I Still Believe", "I Don't Wanna Live Without Your Love", "Hold On to the Nights", "A Groovy Kind of Love", "Make It Real" 3. Which artist/group will have the most Top 40 entries? George Michael (hope "Monkey" won't be up there though)

A couple of extras before the RD begins.
Midnight Oil broke out globally with 'The Dead Heart', and the even bigger 'Beds Are Burning'. Calling out the horrific treatment of Australia's aboriginal Pintupi, 'Beds' was performed again to a massive audience at the Sydney 2000 Olympics.
Glass Tiger's follow-up to their debut gold disc was successful in Canada, but yielded only one US Top 40 hit. 'I'm Still Searching' peaked at # 31. The album's title track was intended to shed light on the struggles of Canada's indigenous people.
'Dreaming' was OMD's third and final US Top 20 hit. It was the last track of their first compilation of hits.

Well you have my help in this regard I'm hoping Pet Shop Boys can sneak into the top 10 with one of their songs. They've made it to #3 once before, and this is a weak year. Also I'ma say up front, screw Sweet Child O' Mine

Lol this was my #99 for a bit until I switched it.
The Chicago song was one of those that floated a bit higher than it would have been otherwise due to it not falling into the instant turn-off category as hard as some others.

Awesome, was worried for some reason that this would be a little higher.
Unfortunately, my #98 absolutely won't be going anywhere anytime soon, so no triple streak for me.

Of course, the one time I don't rank Chicago #100, they're #100.

I never ever want to hear this piece of garbage again. That it won Grammys over Fast Car is incomprehensible.

7 #100! must be a record.
This song reached #1 the week after Sweet Child oβ Mine. Talk about variety in 1988.
