Also #late but...
What song is going to be #1? I'll be stunned if it's not "I'm Alright" since it has annihilated the competition in a 100-song YE rankdown and her own singles rankdown already, so... even though I prefer "Bye, Bye" I'd almost be upset if it doesn't win because that would be such a wild inconsistency, lmao.
What song is going to be #10? Would've predicted "Cover Me" anyway
What single is going to be first out? Would've predicted "Because You Love Me" anyway What single is going to make it the furthest? "I'm Alright" because it's gonna win, lol. What non-single will make it the highest? "Even God Must Get the Blues" pretty please. <3 What songs will make up the Top 5? The first four singles + "Blues" is my guess.

tonight I will be revealing #8 and #7! Any guesses as to what two songs will be next to leave? Both songs will see two people each lose a Top 5 ranking! #8: #7:

"Cover Me" is great, but I am not surprised to see it leave first. It lacks the "wow" factor that a lot of the album has, even if it is still a solid A effort. "Because You Love Me" is extremely underrated!!! Should have done much better here. Let's be real, even singles that nobody likes have managed to kick ass in album rankdowns and beat all the album tracks into the top 5, so second-to-last feels a bit harsh even if it's a really strong album

Story time!
In 2001 I saw Jo Dee at the Washington State Fair, she last minute filled in for an ill Kenny Rogers. She didn’t have a whole set list planned so she asked what the crowd wanted to hear. Silver Thunderbird was shouted by half the crowd! Absolutely love the song and so happy I got to see her do it live! It is so well written, you don’t even need a music video! I can see it so well, burned into my brain! Lol

I love "Silver Thunderbird" and she sounds great on it. Definitely near the bottom of the album for me only because this album is so good but this is a great song.
Gonna post #7 in a little, wanna space them out a little. If everyone wanted me too I could possibly post #6 & #5 tonight also

"Silver Thunderbird" is the one song on the album that was not immediate for me. The thing about it is, the musical arrangement is so creative and inspired and just SO well done, and then the verses are so melodically pleasing and Jo Dee's vocals are incredible as usual...but then the chorus starts and something about it just doesn't feel right. The melody just falls completely flat for me. Which was made way more disappointing because the musical arrangement and the verses are freaking amazing! So I honestly did not like this song at all at first. But it has started to grow on me more now that I am getting used to the chorus. Still the bottom of the album for me, but on an album that it is difficult to pick a bottom for, that's not too big of a statement.

Pay money to see old, infirm, washed up Kenny Rodgers a decade after his career was over, and get to see the young, vibrant, incredible Jo Dee Messina at her peak instead!!! That sounds like such an incredible day!

It is definitely a song that will grow on you instead of being immediate, which on this album puts it at the bottom easily. Still a great song so I'm glad it has grown on you as it did for me. castleoblivion26 if you post #6 and 5 tonight as well, I will promise to comment! :) lol Holding you to it!!! lol About to post #7!

I was 16, I think I forced my parents to get me last minute tickets for my birthday! Lol

something about "I Know A Heartache" just never really connected with me but I do like the song, it is catchy and Jo Dee sounds great.
#6 will be posted later and it is going to be a shocker for some. Only hint I'm giving for the song that just misses Top 5!

"I Know A Heartache" is catchy, but not really a standout. I can see why it is one of the few songs on the album that was not a single. Lol
Hmmm, that hint for #6 has me perplexed... I don't think anybody would be surprised to see "No Time For Tears" leave. Which makes me think that this is either going to be "Even God Must Get The Blues" or "Lesson In Leavin'". Both of which would be criminal, because "No Time For Tears" can compare to neither of them!

I'm currently thinking of three possibilities that'll be shockers for what'll miss the top 5 (even though technically all six are at risk):
- "Lesson in Leavin'": this song has actually burned on me big time, even though I'm more familiar with Jo Dee's version than Dottie West's. - "Even God Must Get the Blues": I actually had thoughts about recommending this album track during the Jo Dee rankdown, but I wasn't able to find any others to make a legitimate list. - "Stand Beside Me": I personally hope this makes the top 3, but I can see a few of us finding it boring.

this song is incredible and in my opinion it competes with "I'm Alright" and "Bye, Bye" as the top 3 songs from this album. The lyrics, the production, and her vocal performance are all amazing. Beyond disappointed to see it go here.
I'll post #5 after I find out #28 in 1992 Country which better not be my #1!
oh and someone loses their #1 at #5! This was a mistake, #4 is someone's #1, sorry

"Even God Must Get The Blues" is incredible! Jo Dee's vocal here is SO on point... She sounds absolutely perfect! I will admit that out of the ballads on the album I enjoy "Because You Love Me" more, but this one is still one of the best album tracks of Jo Dee's career.

I do think “Even God Must Get the Blues” is overrated, however it is the second best album track on here, right behind “Silver Thunderbird”. How the HELL is “No Time for Tears” still in!?!?

Mistake in my last post: the #4 sees someone lose their #1, not sure why I got the two mixed up....
The Top 5 are: "Bye, Bye" "I'm Alright" "Stand Beside Me" "Lesson In Leavin'" "No Time For Tears"
The Jo Dee Messina co-write "No Time For Tears" is the highest album track remaining! How much farther can it go?
