I'm losing it! Excited to listen to this since everyone else has already done that PS: I don't think picking this is the best move but still happy there's a new era.

This isn't a strong lead-single but then again she released "Applause" and "Perfect Illusion" before...

I liked the song when it first got leaked but I didn't think it was lead material. I'm not sure why they're going with something that has already leaked though...wouldn't it be better to release something entirely new?

I wonder if this will have changed at all. I love it as is, but I can't wait for the visuals to inevitably elevate this even higher.

This isn't a strong lead-single but then again she released "Applause" and "Perfect Illusion" before... you're talking apples and oranges tho. Applause is her best song, and Perfect Illusion is quite possibly the worst lead single ever released by a female popstar before. I can't think of a worse song than that. But Applause is ace.

LOL This is actually one of the weakest lead singles a Pop artist has put out. I remember her saying on the netflix documentary “I know how to write a pop song” well girl, it seems like you don’t anymore.

The perfect ilussion demo teased by Mark Ronson in a club sounded pretty great tbh. (Sang by another artist of course)

very curious how this does/sounds following the surprise success of Shallow. could see this performing anywhere between Perfect Illusion and Applause, honestly.

It's been said that it's produced by Bloodpop® and BURNS, so this should be the rumoured collaboration the former teased two years ago. Well... I guess the Instagram post below confirms the aforementioned. Not exactly. Produced by Bloodpop® and Tchami. https://www.instagram.com/p/B8_6A6YHOj0

very curious how this does/sounds following the surprise success of Shallow. could see this performing anywhere between Perfect Illusion and Applause, honestly. I’m going to guess a debut just outside the top 10 on the Hot 100. On pop radio, it’ll quickly rise to around 20 and then peter out, maybe at 12 or 13. Then it could go either as far as #6 or will just fall from outside the top 10 and a new single will be pushed in time for the album.

I see this having a run similar to "Never Really Over" by Katy Perry. Bieber's performance with his new album in streaming is a troubling sign for all veteran pop stars to come. Lady Gaga peaked in popularity way before Bieber ever did. I just don't see her doing well in streaming. Especially not with a song like this that smells like 2013 all over again.

If the video is released with the song I don't see why this wouldn't debut at #1.

I could see it too but like you said, the hype is there. I think this could be a case of the hype being bigger than the song’s performance. So it could end up feeling bigger than the charts might indicate. I do wonder whether the song will be at all different than the leak. Part of me wonders whether the leak was on purpose to get feedback to use to make the song better.

It will really be interesting to see how much hype their is. I’ve learned to not be hopeful, but we’ll find out Friday.

The polarizing nature of this song is surprising. It’s what people have been asking her to return to for years and now it’s not good enough? Silly. It’s a great pop track, and will probably do pretty well off the back of Shallow. Depends on the video, I guess

Applause is her best song, and Perfect Illusion is quite possibly the worst lead single ever released by a female popstar before. I can't think of a worse song than that. But Applause is ace. Yes, exactly. Applause is great and I think its telling that even in the midst of a HUGE backlash against her at that moment it still somehow had some staying power/peaked fairly high instead of artificially high peak due to radio deal and then sharp collapse a week later. Perfect Illusion...like, even as a stan I couldn't pretend to like that. Jesus, why Gaga why. Anyway, I know this leaked, but I haven't listened to it yet. I'll wait for the final, HQ radio version. I love the visuals though. Without hearing it, I say it will peak much like Never Really Over give or take a few positions in either direction.

This doesn’t sound modern enough to do well. It’s wayyy too 2012. Is it a good song? Yes. Will it smash like the gays want? No.

I definitely like this way more than anything from her last studio album and maybe even ARTPOP, but it sounds like it could have been released around the time of Born This Way. It’s classic Gaga.. but classic Gaga is definitely not the sound of Pop radio right now. I could see her struggling at Pop but doing well at Hot AC and AC where the 80’s pop sound is more likely to be embraced.

I hope the music video is released at the same time. The production on this is so good. Of course assuming it's the same as the leak.
Fingers crossed this smashes across the board!
