You have fabulous taste.
Title is THAT bop. Mom is super catchy. My Selfish Heart is one of my favorite Meghan songs. It’s great and so “her”. 3 AM is so chill. I Won’t Let You Down is so catchy and Meghan is so great in that big sister role.

This just clicked for me on the radio. Whoever thought to add the deep male harmonies on the "someone else" part is brilliant, because it takes the song to another level

I don't mind this. Glad it appears to be a success for her thus far.

It's okay, I guess. But like with most of Meghan Trainor singles, the lyrics are just awful.

This is just kinda there. Not my fav from her. I’m surprised to see it #1 on iTunes. I didn’t know she was still a thing.

The video is shockingly bad but the song is cute and much more in line of her style from Title without obviously being doo wop

I'm guessing this will have a similar run on Hot 100 to How Long

Katy and Meghan are on different levels. No comparison. And the comment on hair color just shows how shallow people are when it comes to pop stars.

I hope you mean Katy and Meghan are on different levels because Meghan has real talent.

Talent does not equal success. Otherwise there would be a lot less divas around today. Success wise they are on different levels and there's no disputing that.

Katy has more of a legacy for sure, but Meghan is the more reliable hit maker at this point in time.

Teenage Dream alone destroys Meghan's entire career both musically and commercially, but sure, keep up with the delusion.
This is growing on me. The "someone else" part is good.

Lol, why are we comparing these two artists at all. This song is surely showing early sign of a hit but at this point it's hard to say if it would even match the success of "Chained to the Rhythm."

That “someone else” bit really is quite inspired, with the deep male harmonies.

I feel like this song could be connecting with the same audience that made Can't Stop the Feeling into a monster hit.

My god, I cannot believe this appears to be turning into a hit. I was so certain this would flop. I could see it pulling a No and beginning to tank after 10ish weeks though.
As others have said I guess this provides hope for uncool soccer mom singers which isn't entirely a bad thing? But I wish it was Pink getting this type of love out of the gate and not Trainor ugh.

Wow, this is actually starting off really well! The song didn't click with me at all on first listen, but I should give it a few more listens.
I feel like there's always the possibility that radio callouts could be polarizing and stall on radio, but if the thing about connecting with the audience that made CSTF as huge as it is is true, we might be in for a pretty huge comeback single for Meghan Trainor.

I'm actually extremely perplexed about how this isn't even in the Top 200 in the US on Spotify... is spotifycharts typically an accurate resource? B/c it is crazy to me that this could be #1 on iTunes, but not even in the Top 200 on Spotify. I mean, "Africa" by Toto is currently #197.
It is supporting my little conspiracy theory that labels are lately buying their #1s on iTunes. I think it DEFINITELY happened a few weeks ago with Jon Langston, which is now nowhere in the Top 200 now. I mean, to be #1 for a couple days, you only have to sell, what, like 20,000 copies. That's not a big investment for a label, and it creates the perception of success. (I'm not saying Meghan is only successful because of this -- just that it's a tad more evidence for my theory.)

I'd like to know if top placement on streaming playlists can be bought too, and how can unknown songs from unknown artists be placed in "Todays top hits" playlists when they're not hits to begin with. Would explain post malone and camila cabello's rise

Would explain post malone and camila cabello's rise Labels can "promote" songs to be on bigger playlists, if you know what I mean. I don't think that was the case with Post Malone or Camila Cabello though.
