This is /æ/ friendly reminder that this is due in 2 days! The last two submissions gave us /æ/ new #2 and also shook up the top 10 quite /æ/ bit. Terri Clark recently had K.T. Oslin on her Country Gold Backstage Podcast where she talks about what it was like to first achieve success in her 40s and shares some insights into her career and songs. K.T. discussed some of her favorites from back in the 1980s including King George's "All My Ex's Live in Texas" and how she's /æ/ big fan of Alabama. /ee/ also learned that K.T. wrote "Old Pictures" for The Judds which was included on their [/ee/]Heartland[//ee/] album. K.T. refers to her songs as "my little babies" and mentioned "80's Ladies" took years to write. K.T. finally discusses her diagnosis with Parkinson's and why she has been absent from singing. Participants:1. Tim 2. someguy 3. bboat11 4. Cody Wants Out... 5. castleoblivion26 6. dub 7. rgreen0625 8. .indulgecountry

There is /æ/ clear frontrunner for the #1 position as it looks like it's pretty much running away for the win /ee/ assume that's my #1 (which /ee/ would love) but /ee/ would love to see that be wrong too Hopefully more submissions will change it!

Ok folks the time for procrastinating is over! This rankdown will officially close tonight at midnight (although /ee/'ll still accept any submissions from any night owls that might want to work on it in the middle of the night lol). Our latest submission comes from BackwoodsBarbie which brings the total participants to 9 and /ee/ know that Kanenrá:ke is working on this so that'll bring us up to 10! /ee/ probably won't start reveals until midweek at the earliest so there is still /æ/ small amount of time left for any remaining stragglers. The top 3 remains the same although #4 and #5 have now switched places; with the latest submission we also see another song jump back into the top 10. The bottom 5 remains the same with only #38 and #39 switching positions. Participants:1. Tim 2. someguy 3. bboat11 4. Cody Wants Out... 5. castleoblivion26 6. dub 7. rgreen0625 8. .indulgecountry 9. Doing this right now, /ee/'ll be one of the night owls lol. Glad you are joining in! /ee/'ll be accepting submissions all night /ee/'ve received two more submissions from sabre14 and LBTrocks which has changed things up /æ/ bit. The top 5 has pretty much remained consistent although the gap has narrowed somewhat between #2 and #3. There is still /æ/ clear frontrunner but the last two submissions saw that gap narrow considerably. There is one song in particular that is outperforming my expectations and since receiving the seventh submission it has just continued to chug along and inch closer and closer to the top ten...it's now sitting at #12 (its average was #24 before that seventh submission!). The bottom 3 remains the same but there have been /æ/ few changes to the overall bottom 5. Participants:1. Tim 2. someguy 3. bboat11 4. Cody Wants Out... 5. castleoblivion26 6. dub 7. rgreen0625 8. .indulgecountry 9. BackwoodsBarbie 10. sabre14 11. LBTrocks

Welcome to the 80's Ladies of Country! Pre-Reveal Questions:1. What will the Top 5/Bottom 5 look like? 2. What will be #1/#40? 3. Where will the original "80's Ladies" by K.T. Oslin place? 4. Which 80's Ladies of Country will have the most songs in the top 10? 5. Which Class of '89 will have the highest ranking song ("Cross My Broken Heart" by Suzy Bogguss; "Never Had It So Good" by Mary Chapin Carpenter; "Dear Me" by Lorrie Morgan)? 6. Who is your favorite 80's Lady of Country and why?
Reveals will begin the evening of Wednesday, June 13th!

1. What will the Top 5/Bottom 5 look like? /ee/ definitely expect to see both Reba and Dolly in the top 5, with at least one song. Maybe Patty Loveless and one of The Judds' songs as well? As far as bottom 5, /ee/ have no idea... No songs here were necessarily [/ee/]bad[//ee/] imo. Maybe Anne Murray will be there? 2. What will be #1/#40? /ee/ will be absolutely shocked if "Whoever's In New England" isn't the runaway winner! 3. Where will the original "80's Ladies" by K.T. Oslin place? Hopefully in the top 10! It was an excellent discovery for me here! It might miss out on the top 5 in favor of better-known songs, but any less than top 10 would be unfortunate! 4. Which 80's Ladies of Country will have the most songs in the top 10? /ee/ mean, there are only /æ/ handful of them that even have more than one song in this rankdown... But /ee/ would not be surprised to see Reba and Dolly both get all their songs into the top 10! 5. Which Class of '89 will have the highest ranking song ("Cross My Broken Heart" by Suzy Bogguss; "Never Had It So Good" by Mary Chapin Carpenter; "Dear Me" by Lorrie Morgan)? Hopefully Lorrie Morgan!!!! Neither of the others' songs really stood out to me. 6. Who is your favorite 80's Lady of Country and why? Lol /ee/ don't play favorites..................... Jk it's REBA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why? Because she has the ability to emote like nobody else /ee/ have ever heard. She has the biggest vocal range of just about any country female, and she knows how/when to use it tastefully. Just everything about her oozes charisma, class, and determination. /ee/ would be hard pressed to find any other celebrity that seems like they would be as fun to hang out with as she does.

1. What will the Top 5/Bottom 5 look like? "Whoever's in New England" and "9 to 5" seem like sure bets imo. "Why Not Me" and "Timber /ee/'m Falling in Love" also strike me as likely contenders. Guessing bottom 5 will possibly include the likes of Lacy J. Dalton, Terri Gibbs, and Gail Davis. 2. What will be #1/#40? Gonna guess "Whoever's in New England" or "9 to 5" takes this one. #40 will be something more obscure.3. Where will the original "80's Ladies" by K.T. Oslin place? Gonna predict somewhere around 20-25ish.4. Which 80's Ladies of Country will have the most songs in the top 10? /ee/ think Reba and Dolly have the best chances. /ee/ don't foresee The Judds having both of their songs in the Top 10, but they could have an outside shot. Any of the others with multiples, /ee/ doubt it.5. Which Class of '89 will have the highest ranking song ("Cross My Broken Heart" by Suzy Bogguss; "Never Had It So Good" by Mary Chapin Carpenter; "Dear Me" by Lorrie Morgan)? Gonna guess Mary Chapin Carpenter after how well she did in castleoblivion26's RD (much to my surprise).6. Who is your favorite 80's Lady of Country and why? Dolly Parton, for sure. She's definitely my favorite country music 'legend' by /æ/ clear country mile. Incredible voice and catalog. /ee/ love her so, so much.

1. What will the Top 5/Bottom 5 look like?
Whoever's In New England and 9 To 5 are definitely ending up in the top 5, possibly TKHITLH and Turn It Loose as well. No idea what the bottom 5 will be. /ee/'d like to see Jose Quervo and Eighteen Wheels And /æ/ Dozen Roses there.
2. What will be #1/#40?
#1 will probably be either Whoever's In New England, 9 to 5 (though /ee/'m hoping not), or To Know Him Is To Love Him. Not sure what #40 will be, the Jose Quervo song sounded really chintzy, but /ee/'m not familiar with some of the lesser known songs to really make an educated guess.
3. Where will the original "80's Ladies" by K.T. Oslin place?
Either just in or just out of the top 20.
4. Which 80's Ladies of Country will have the most songs in the top 10?
Dolly. /ee/ think all three of her entries (counting TKHITLH) could end up in the top 10. Reba has an outside shot at multiple entries too, but /ee/ think Can't Even Get The Blues No More will place around #15.
5. Which Class of '89 will have the highest ranking song ("Cross My Broken Heart" by Suzy Bogguss; "Never Had It So Good" by Mary Chapin Carpenter; "Dear Me" by Lorrie Morgan)?
Never Had It So Good.
6. Who is your favorite 80's Lady of Country and why?
The Judds. Their music has constant character for me in addition to being well written and sung.

/ee/ have no idea what to expect but here are some guesses:
1. What will the Top 5/Bottom 5 look like? Dolly and Reba are safe bets for top 5. /ee/ wouldn't be surprised to see the Judds or Patty Loveless in there. For bottom 5, /ee/ have no idea. k.d. lang, one of the K.T. Oslin songs, maybe Paulette Carlson?
2. What will be #1/#40? /ee/ think Dolly or Reba will take #1 but /ee/ have no idea for #40.
3. Where will the original "80's Ladies" by K.T. Oslin place? In the 20s
4. Which 80's Ladies of Country will have the most songs in the top 10? Dolly might have all three of hers there (counting Trio). Not sure if Can't Even Get the Blues will make top 10.
5. Which Class of '89 will have the highest ranking song ("Cross My Broken Heart" by Suzy Bogguss; "Never Had It So Good" by Mary Chapin Carpenter; "Dear Me" by Lorrie Morgan)? /ee/'d like to see MCC do well but /ee/ think /ee/ liked the Lorrie Morgan song better.
6. Who is your favorite 80's Lady of Country and why? Dolly Parton because she's /æ/ fierce drag queen who writes all her own music and it's catchy too. She's got /æ/ good sense of humor, too.
