120 Minutes as a Rankdown: 90s Alternative Rock (complete)

Hi everybody! My metal rankdown is complete, and if we pulled off any level of satisfactory game from that, we can do damn near anything at this point. So I'm bringing this list out from hibernation. I won't be testing the limits again this time, however; this theme should be more friendly to the ears.

These selections are intended to present a good swatch across subgenres and geography, but ultimately, I only chose songs that I personally consider stone-cold classics. It might not contain all the artists you expected for this theme, or even the specific songs you expected from the artists present here. But that just means more chances to discover new loves, right? Oh, and for the non-rock forum regulars, 1) this could be good prep for future Alt chart rankdowns, 2) some of the tastiest pop treats on this list come from the least well-known bands, and 3) there are many more female vocals than...none at all as in my last rankdown.

PM me your ranking of all these songs from best (#1) to worst (#60). Leave the band names in or not, either way is fine, but be sure to number them. After sending your list, you may make changes to your ranks up to 24 hours before the deadline. Inverse point system will be used.

We have our third list! Time for the first ballot update. After this one I'll go back to doing it after every two submissions.

This update concerns the lists of your host (that's me), @humanshazam, and @jamesflame.

• 21 songs have reached the triple digits in points. Every song in the top 10 has 131 points or more.
• 2 songs have exclusively top 10 rankings as of now; they are our top 2. #1 holds a 2-point lead over #2 and a 12-point lead over #3
• On the other end, no song has all bottom 10 rankings. Nevertheless, #60 is at a deep deficit to #59--15 points behind, to be exact. The threshold for bottom 10 is 55 points.
• The point range outside of the top and bottom 10 is defined by clusters with the occasional bigger gap. For instance, #44 is 12 points above #45, but move up 12 points from #44 and you're already at #36.
• At the moment, the lowest SD resides at #8, while the highest SD sits at #41.
• Ties in the early going are too numerous to fully recount. But there are notable ties at #7, #15 (3-way), #34 (3-way again), and #45 (4-way!).

Yay I can actually do a ballot update before the final day!

This check-in concerns the rankings of aerodynamite and Pale Shelter. Let me starting by saying, the variety I'm already seeing in the rankings is exciting.

• Only our bottom ten has yet to reach triple digit points. The threshold for the top 10 (+1) is 200 points.
• There is no longer any song with all top 10 rankings--not like that was expected to last, anyway (though, as for only top 25 ranks, we have two songs fitting the criterion). Only four songs have been top 10 constants since shazam's list. Two top 10 songs were not even in the top half at that point. Our #1 has changed with every ballot--the current #1 has held the top spot before, and it leads #2 by 5 points, #3 by 13 points.
• Two songs have only bottom 25 ranks (#57 and #58). Last place has been held by three different songs. Currently, #60 is 12 points behind #59. Five songs have yet to escape the bottom 10.
• The difference between 2 and 6 is the same as the difference between 6 and 16. Conversely, #31-41 is only a span of 13 points.
• Both the lowest and highest SD have changed. Lowest is that aforementioned #58, highest is at #16.
• Ties are back on the menu, now that there's less of them. My favorite tie is the one at #10. But I'm also a fan of the ones at #24, #27, #29, #31, #36, and #45.

We are now approximately 1 day and 8 hours from the deadline! 5 lists is more than twice what I had at this point for 80s Metal, so that's fantastic. I might as well say now that, the soonest I'll be starting results is Monday, and Wednesday the latest. This is because I want to get as much prep done as possible before revealing, maybe even all of it. So, though the proper deadline is still the one listed in the OP, you can submit slightly past the deadline, but on two conditions. 1) You must post in this thread by Sunday (April 15), 7PM PST, telling me you are working on your list. 2) You must then give your ballot to me by Tuesday (April 17), 7PM PST.

OFFICIAL DEADLINE: April 14, 7PM PST (this is the one by which you can send unannounced)
LAST CHANCE CUTOFF: April 17, 7PM PST (I will only accept your ballot if I know by Sunday that you're planning on getting it in late)
