I still remember that BET awards performance for “Trust”. Mo performed like she was trying to get discovered. lol.
I forgot about “Love” being on the countdown. I always flip-flop between liking and disliking her yodeling.
When I heard SLYG for the first time, I thought Amina was Keysh’s rap alter ego similar to what Mary did with Brook Lynn on “Enough Cryin”.

"Got to Get My Heart Back" is a classic (I think Me. I Am Justin... nominated it?). The interlude ("Same Thing") is also memorable, except for that whack dialogue at the beginning. |

2:37 - now THAT is how you handle a run on the word love! It's not like she couldn't get it right! idk wtf happened with the song Love and why not one single person in the studio or the boardroom said 'sis...you need a Hall's before you go back in the booth?' b/c that mess should have never hit wax the way it did. Sounding like she went to the beach and caught a mouth full of ocean water and kept trying to sing through it anyway. NO. DO NOT USE. This song makes me big mad every time I hear it.
Easy top 10 worthy song crapped on by a bottom 10 vocal.

I can’t believe people are coming for her vocals. People LOVE that song to death. In concert she cannot even sing it due to the audience over singing her. Hell Bruno just did a tribute to the song for Valentines Day! Y’all crazy Even the other two people who openly hated on it in the thread gave it a top 20 rank! I knew I'd be the only one out here by my lonesome on this. I'm convinced her audition for Ron was on point and she just had that one really off day when she went in to record it [edit - I've heard her sing this live and consistently handle it 100x better so yeah, I just really don't understand why she didn't do another take]...it's a testament to the strength of the song (It is very much something that would be up Bruno's alley) and Keyshia's pure emotion that most people just didn't care. A lot of people made fun of the chorus but they bumped the hell out of the song anyway. But it always drove me nuts. |
