Another first reveal for a band with more than one song is coming up at #31. The song here is quite different from our last reveal as this one had the 13th highest standard deviation. 2 people will be upset as they will be losing a top 5. One of these is someone's first top 10 loss. 3 other people will lose a top 20. On the other hand, 2 people will be overjoyed that one of their bottom 10 has finally been knocked out. Both will also clear their bottom 10 here.

I'm fine with where this wound up. Maybe ranked it a few spots too high, though.

Yet again, at #30 we have a first reveal for an artist with multiple songs. We have encountered this band quite frequently in these rock rankdowns. This song is one which we have ranked before. 3 people ranked it in their top 10 along with 2 more in their top 20. However, it did have 2 bottom 20 rankings one of which is a bottom 10.

At #29 is another song that we have ranked multiple times in these rock rankdowns. In this reveal, someone will feel the pain as the second #1 ranking of the night goes down. 5 others put this song in their top 20. It had 2 bottom 20s with one of these being a bottom 10 which gets cleared in this reveal.

A band with multiple entries gets eliminated in this next reveal at #28. We ranked this song recently in the Alt 2005 rankdown. One top 10 is lost here and it is a top 5. 5 other people had the song in their top 20. Only one person disliked it enough to rank it in their bottom 20.

At #27 is a band that we have seen quite a few times in the year-end rock rankdowns. We will be seeing them many more times in the years to come as well. 4 people ranked this song in their top 10 which is the most so far. Only one person had this song in their bottom 30.

An artist appears for the very first time in an Active rankdown at #26. 2 top 10s are lost here along with 2 more top 20s. One of these top 10 losses is somebody's first. It only had 3 bottom 50s which is the fewest to this point. However, 2 of these were bottom 20s with one being a bottom 10.

Okay, seriously, this "being the lowest point for a song in the rankdown" thing is starting to be funny.

Doc Indie Party Rock , wheatsquares33 , @cagedjuggalo , rgreen0625 , Troy , craziaskowboi , Az Paynter Just tagging you guys individually to let you all know that you guys are not allowed to participate in Active rankdowns anymore. Literally inexcusable. Was "Because of You" too heavy for you? In an Active rankdown. And Doc Indie Party Rock , I hereby revoke your Nickelback fan card. There is absolutely no reason you should have ranked this in your bottom half. Was it not "melodic" enough? dm2081 , could have you used bud.

I liked the song fine, there's just 57 others I liked more (and it's not even like this is the heaviest song in the rankdown or anything, seriously, it's Nickelback. And why would I tank a song for being too heavy in the first place). The thing finished in the top 40 anyway, it's not like it was completely destroyed or anything.

"Because Of You" is not my favorite Nickelback song. It's ok. It falls somewhere in between their "Dirty Laundry" cover, "Bottoms Up" ,"The Betrayal (Act II)and a few songs off their first album. It isn't really too different than say; "Figured You Out"(which I will put extra high), in the fact that it's fierce enough in melody. It just didn't hook me as quickly as there other songs do. I guess I already mentioned, that I chose to chart ,"Do This Anymore" instead. Anyway, let's talk again when "How You remind Me" shows up in these rank downs. let's see who ranks it the highest? :kii:

:kii: Actually isn't the next NB song, or at least Chad song, to pop up supposed to be "Hero"?

40. Can't Repeat - The OffspringThis is one Alternative rock band that sits quite well with me on these Active Rankdowns. This one rehashes all their past songs, but also really hits the spot. 39. Because of You - NickelbackThis Active rock year was tough for Nickelback. You could say I took a short break from them to concentrate on Velvet Revolver. This is actually a great fierce song. I usually like all the songs from mid 70's and up. I don't recall where maine placed "Animals", but let's not forget who put that one at #1? I've payed my dues. 38. Let Me Go - 3 Doors DownOne of my favorite; 3 Doors Down, songs. Really happy it made the top 40 here. I also found it funny how the band decided to insert; Rock video, The stripper cliche in the MV. She's hot, but the song's vibe doesn't really call for it. 37. Someone - EarshotThis one started off pretty good. It's not bad at all. Great vocals, and Also Sounds like something I could sing along to, but man; this year was tough. Too many better songs, What am I supposed to do? tank the Crue? 36. Hollow - SubmersedNot much of a difference between #88 where I put this one and #82, where I put Earshot, but quality wise, I enjoyed Earshot a whole lot more. It's right inbetween that #86 and #85 slot where I wanted to upgrade songs a whole lot more. This song was not terrible, just not too memorable. 35. Happens All the Time - ColdMade up for that huge mistake I made with them in the Alt list. I'm glad this made the top 40 too. I do have to add; that I still think "A Different Kind of Pain"; The one we ranked in Red 's Journey is the best Cold song I've heard. Even better than "No One" and "Stupid Girl".34. Shine It All Around - Robert Plant and the Strange SensationThis was one of those songs that was gonna make my top 50 regardless, because of vocal value alone. 33. Happy? - MudvayneI knew I would lose this Top 10 before we hit the top 20, but it didn't matter, because it's my favorite song from the band. "tear me from my bones". It's like a gore scene, in musical form. 32. Your Time Has Come - AudioslaveGood song. I glad the bigger hit is still in the running tho.. 31. Wake Me Up When September Ends - Green DayAnother Alt band that sounds right at home on Active rock to me. Even with this Ballad. 30. Save Me - ShinedownComes in second place to "Sound Of Madness" as their best era. 29. Remedy - SeetherGreat fucking guitar vibe. I definitely shot this one up in this Active rock list. 28. Stricken - DisturbedGotta give up to you guys. You did good with this song this time. Could have been higher, but I'm happy this; amazing ,pumping iron, guitar-fest, jam, made the top 30. 27. Right Here - StaindI'm completely "Day n Night" when it comes to this band. I don't go nuts for their heavier stuff, but I love their powerballads like this one here. 26. E-Pro - BeckComon! "Jessie's Girl" has more Active rock vibe than this. Anyway, the guitars are really all I liked about this; which isn't enough when competing in a list with fierce guitar vibe.

Extras time:
Are You with Me - Vaux never heard this song. It was o.k., but nothing special. Also did I just see a; dome headed, John Travolta???
Fire It Up - Black Label Society This didn't do much for me. Sounds like a song; Rob Zombie could improve on.
We Are All on Drugs - Weezer I'm not gonna lie. I liked "Beverly Hills" a lot more, but this song had more of a proper Active rock vibe. Just saying..
Better Now - Collective Soul Second night in a row, you post a song that was gonna use as one of my own extras. Great song. This one came in at the royal #69 slot in my top 100 of 2005.
Let's get back to Def Leppard's 'Yeah!' album. This was the actual single from the album. It was originally released by the band; Badfinger. Def Leppard's version really fit their style of rock music, and the song really struck a cord with me as well. This went on to be one of my favorite songs of 2005.
Def Leppard - "No Matter What" (DOC #23)
Next comes the sleeze rock band that I am happy returned this year with new music on Frontiers Music label. I always look for new music from my favorite bands. Pretty Boy Floyd had that sound that meshed Poison's guitars with Vince Neil's vocals tones. A perfect combo for the type of Glam Metal vibe, I love. In 2004 they released 'Size Really Does Matter", from which i charted quite a bit of songs. "Suicide" was a song I rolled into my 2005 charts. This one had a lot of NRG.
