NOOOOOOOOOO not "In My Next Life" already!!!!! The melody is STELLAR! I love Terri's delivery and the lyrics are great. The song is a total jam. Booooo @ this missing the top 20.

"Sometimes Goodbye" is an awesome song, but it probably is leaving at a good time considering the strength of everything that is left. I'd be curious to see how well it can do in an album rankdown though! I imagine it would be an easy top 3!
"In My Next Life" severely overstayed. That song was always mediocre to me. It has grown on me some through the years, but the amount of incredible songs it has beaten is absolutely criminal!

Well the sun sets in the west But as fast as you go, how would you know You're a busy boy, I guess Who just wants the gold at the end of the road
20. Getting There Points: 442 Writers: Gary Burr & Terri Clark Release Date: 2001 Album: FearlessThe third single from my favorite of her albums, this song peaked at #41 and was the last single released to the U.S. I'll always have a special place for this one in my heart. I couldn't find a copy of the album back in 2004 which is around when I started buying my own albums. I finally found a copy in the airport waiting for take off. A song about "Getting There" being played as I took my first trip to Europe was just too perfect

"Getting There" has always been one of my favorites from the Fearless album! It is a style that she hasn't tackled very often, between the heavily processed vocals and the odd chorus melody. But it is still every bit as high of quality as we have always been able to expect from Terri through the years. I am pleasantly surprised to see it make the top 20! Looking at everything that is left, we have basically entered the realm of her all-time classics I would have never expected this mostly-forgotten song to be one of the last obscure songs remaining. Looking at the list, I am also a bit surprised to still see "Damn Right" hanging on! It's another damn good song, but given the fact that it was SO obscure, I figured a spot in the top 20 was not guaranteed.

Grew up driving on black ice Spinning in circles under Northern Lights
19. Northern Girl Points: 424 Writers: Terri Clark & Kristen Hall Release Date: April 11, 2011 Album: Roots And WingsReleased as the lead single to her 8th album, "Northern Girl" went on to peak at #8 on the Canadian country charts. I like how Terri took the then current obsession with southern pride songs and turned one in for us here in the North! (And made a better song than most of the Southern counterparts!)

"Northern Girl" slays, but Terri's catalog is just TOO great for this song to place that highly for me. I'll jam to it whenever wherever though!!!

Three and half minutes of magic It's so good then it's gone Melodies and memories gone The good ones leave you hanging on 18. Some Songs Points: 414 Writers: Tom Douglas, Jaren Johnston, & James T. Slater Release Date: May 27, 2014 Album: Some SongsReleased as the lead single to her 10th album, "Some Songs" went on to peak at #20 on the Canadian country charts and is currently her last solo single to make the top 20. I love this songs melody, and lyrics so much. I thought this was strong enough to relaunch her to the U.S. since the production was much more in line with what was big on radio at the time.

We went together like highways and T-birds Saturday sinners and Sunday church 17. Damn Right Points: 391 Writers: Julian Gallagher & Craig Wiseman Release Date: November 1, 2005 Album: Life Goes OnReleased weeks before she ended up leaving Mercury Nashville this was the last single released from the album in the U.S. With her leaving the label just a sit was sent to radio it failed to chart anywhere. While this wouldn't have been my choice for second single I do think this is a great song that fits Terri to a t! I'm sure if Mercury hadn't dropped her it would've got her back to the top 20.

There ain't nothin wrong a few cold beers can't iron out In fact you tell me just when and where and I'll buy the first round 16. The World Needs A Drink Points: 390 Writers: Eric Church Release Date: October 11, 2004 Album: Honky Tonk Song (Unreleased) Intended to be the first single for an album titled Honky Tonk Song, it failed to match the success of the previous singles peaking at #26 and the album was reworked into Life Goes On. While middle of my personal rankings, I remember the day this came out I thought it was going to be huge. I don't think I'll ever really understand why it flopped and then why they chose to not include it on the album.

After "Northern Girl" was revealed, I literally almost said, "I'm shocked that Some Songs and Damn Right are still in. I don't think they will make it much longer."

Just could never get into "The World Needs A Drink" at all.
"Damn Right" is great tho! Glad it made it this far, but would have been happier with it making the top 10, obviously lol.

First off love the new avi! Secondly...I really would've thought "The World Needs A Drink" would be loved by you. Idk it fits with what I normally think you like, so I was surprised all those years ago when you sent your list in!

"Some Songs" is very catchy, but just feels different in her discography. So I had no idea what to expect from it! I love it, but I am totally fine seeing it miss the top 15. She has enough iconic hits to where there isn't anything in this top 15 that I would like to see left out in favor of this one...
"Damn Right" is also insanely catchy, but I am shocked to see it do so well considering that it is basically a song that most people wouldn't have known before this rankdown except for her biggest fans! The fact that it made it basically up to the doorstep of all of her most iconic hits says a LOT about how floppishly mismanaged the Life Goes On era was after the success of the lead single!
"The World Needs A Drink" fits right in with her most iconic hits, so I too am surprised it flopped at radio. However, it is not quite as good as the remaining songs, so it definitely is fine to leave now.
Now, OMG this top 15 is literally perfect!!! There is NOTHING else that I want to see leaving!!!! Thank goodness I won't need to see any of them leave for a couple months or so :)

As is the song. It had better SMASH. I don't care for the melody or the main guitar riff... It's not an awful song, and I tried to get into it because it's Terri, but it's just uninteresting and repetitive to me.

"Northern Girl" and "Damn Right" are BOPS. Two of her catchiest uptempos imo. Love both immensely. I'm in the same boat as LBTrocks regarding "The World Needs a Drink." It's fine, but not even close to being one of my favorites by Terri Clark. Life Goes On is her best album imo and if it had wound up making the tracklisting for that one, it'd be in my bottom 3 for the record.

15. Emotional Girl Points: 346 Writers: Rick Bowles, Terri Clark, & Chris Waters Release Date: January 6, 1997 Album: Just The Samehe second single from Clark's album Just the Same. The song reached number 1 on the RPM Country Tracks chart in March 1997, number 10 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart, and #3 on the Canadian Country chart. I've always been iffy on the lyrics to this one, she sells it and I ended up loving the song overall but the lyrics hold it back from her top tier for me.

"Emotional Girl" is a JAM!!!!! I freaking LOVE the melody of this song, as well as the fire in Terri's vocals while she sings it Kanenrá:ke , you didn't elaborate on why you dislike the lyrics to the song, but I'm assuming it has to do with the sexism of implying that because she is a girl she has violent emotions? I have always felt that the song avoids any of those sexist pitfalls because Terri is just so unabashedly and unapologetically owning her emotions, and telling the guy to piss off if he can't handle her, because she is never going to change her ways for him. I have never heard it as "I can't control my emotions", I have always heard the song as more of a "I refuse to alter the way I feel to cater to your own insecurities." Lol I of course get all this just from the emotion with which Terri sings it, as she is of course the queen of telling people where they can stick it with catchy songs

However as I said I was able to get past it for this song.

Currently jamming out to Terri Clark whilst entering Revenge of the Best lists... (Contemplating opening up the Terri Clark album series right now just to see how many albums we can get through before this main rankdown actually finishes... )

I was sitting in traffic for the fifth year in a row Wasting my time just to get where I don't even want to go I started jotting things down on a Krispy Kreme sack Everything I'd do if I could leave this place and never look back
14. I Wanna Do It All Points: 303 Writers: Rick Giles, Gilles Godard, Tim Nichols Release Date: August 25, 2003 Album: Pain To KillIt was released in August 2003 as the third single from her album Pain to Kill. The song peaked at number 3 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart and reached number 38 on the Billboard Hot 100. This goes right to the bottom for me mostly because I never cared for the melody or vocal. It's my least liked song she's recorded yet.

13. If I Were You Points: 299 Writers: Terri Clark Release Date: February 27, 1996 Album: Terri ClarkIt was released in February 1996 as the third single from her album Terri Clark. The song reached number 1 on the RPM Country Tracks chart in June 1996. Her first solo writing credit on a single and I think it's such a great song, but ultimately one she topped with later releases so it's a mid-pack player for me!

She was thinking, gosh, he's handsome When he asked, "Do you have kids?" She could've lied, but she didn't have time All she said was, "She's five." He said, "I saw the car seat, I love kids, does she have your eyes?"
12. She Didn't Have Time Points: 289 Writers: Pat Bunch & Nicole Witt Release Date: July 18, 2005 Album: Life Goes On It was released in July 2005 as the lead-off single from her album Life Goes On. The song was Clark's fourteenth Top 20 hit on the Canadian country charts, reaching a peak of number 15. It also peaked at #25 in the U.S. Love love Terri's uptempo songs as those are her signature, but when she tackles a ballad I just love it. This song tells a great story and I die a little every time the quoted lyrics are sung.
