"4th of July (Fireworks)", produced by DJ Ammo, was the second single released from Fleshtone and Kelis' last solo top-5 Dance hit in both the US and top-10 hit in the UK.

This one came a long way because it started at the bottom and consistently rose all the way to inside the top-10 until the last few lists knocked it down a couple pegs; It's no Brave so I'm still shocked at how strongly it competed with Acapella to become the highest ranking Fleshtone track. The caucasity was strong with this one!

This was my favorite of her dance material, but I'm fine seeing it bow out before the Top 10.

I loved "4th of July (Fireworks)" for about two years when it first came out. It has slowly burned out for me and sounds more generic now than I remember. I'm okay with it leaving here and am a little surprised it went so far actually.

A lot of her dance tracks are not bad songs per se, but it feels like anyone could have sung them. That's why I ranked this one low. There really wasn't anything about it that felt unique to Kelis or to her sensibilities IMO. But it's not a bad track.

Not too disappointed that this one is out. I loved “4th of July” at the time, but in context of her discography it’s not one that I seek out often.
