I had no idea Whitney covered "Higher Love". Her voice elevates everything.

Not surprised her duets are going out first, though none of the songs out so far are in my bottom 10 lol

I don’t enjoy Hold Me as much as I used to, but I’m also surprised at its low ranking. I can see why some think it’s boring and sappy.
I’m sad for We Didn’t Know. It’s not my favorite on the album, it’s in between. It’s an enjoyable song, breezy is a perfect description for it.

Hint for #47
Pleasant but forgettable. The other album tracks were much stronger and should've been single choices.
Whitney Spotlight Track 8 on Just Whitney was a highlight suggested by several of you. It's a steamy mid-tempo with Whitney declaring her own agency over her life. It's one of the stronger vocal performances on this record as well as less polarizing than the biting first single "Whatchulookinat."

I didn't know anything about We Didn't Know lol. It was funky, nice, but I expected MUCH MORE from a Whitney & Stevie duet They both sang it pretty well, but as a song a clear bottom 10... In terms of Higher Love, my opinion is Interesting that this 1990 version sounds much more dated than the 1986 original lol. Her voice is always good, of course, but Steve's voice also shines in that song, so yeah, an underwhelming cover IMO

I knew Celebrate would be first one out but it's a BOP and I loved when Whitney did anything with some tempo to it. I haattteeee HOLD ME with the ferocity of a million suns. It's so boring and goes nowhere. All. of. THIS.

"We Didn't Know" (How Horrible It Was) - chiiiilllleee what was Whitney, Stevie, and Clive thinking? Another no mark duet that goes absolutely no where. Then, Stevie singing I look at you, you look at me - ummm how sway? How? Anyway, I'm glad it's gone. This rank down is shaping up nicely!
As for Unashamed, I love it! This is one of the songs that helped me come out of the closet. I love my Whitney with a biting attitude and this song (and the JUST WHITNEY album) was right on time for me.

^You saw my opinion already - I always thought it was weak compared to "You Were Loved" and "Who Would Imagine a King"
Hint for #46
Host Opinion Not terrible but not overly memorable. They both could've come with something stronger for a duet.
Whitney Spotlight "Oh Yes" from My Love is Your Love. This steamy sex ballad was one of two Missy Elliott productions that made the album. Both are fan favorites and I'm not sure why neither was chosen as a single.

When TPW soundtrack came out My Heart Is Calling was EASILY my favorite, and I liked it and 'You Were Loved' a lot more than IBIYAM and SBS (at the time). I still like it and find it completely pleasant, but it doesn't excite me like it used to.
I'm gonna guess it's the Bobby duet that's out next. It's really crazy how someone with such a good track record with hits had such a bad track record with duets.
Unashamed - Amazing song. I slept on it when Just Whitney came out, and then years later another big Whitney fan mentioned it as the only worthwhile song on Just Whitney and turned me onto it.
Oh Yes - Love it as an album track, but there are a few others that I would've preferred as a single.

"You Were Loved" is a great, moving, heart warming song. It's one of my favorites from TPW soundtrack.
I think number 46 is another terrible high profile duet - "It Isn't, It Wasn't, It Aint Never Gonna Be" - it CAN'T be "Something In Common" because as much as I hate HIM, the single version is one of Whitney's best duets.
"Oh Yes" - I love it now, but back in 1998 when the album came out, I just thought it was jarring (especially the vocals) and I was not used to that from Whitney. Around summer of 1999, I got into it and it's now one of my favorite album tracks of hers.

Host Opinion Fun and funky! I always jam to this and am glad it was a single of any kind.
Whitney Spotlight This X-Mas original made it to #20 on the AC charts in 2003.

Actually "One Wish" wasn't an original. Freddie Jackson originated it in 1994. I was shocked when I heard it on the radio a few years back
I love it though. It's so haunting and sad. Perfect for a brown liquor Christmas!

No way Something In Common already out! That song is a 90s bop. It’s definitely one of her best duets.
