I may start the phase of accepting "Heat Waves" will be dethroning the record of "Blinding Lights" at most weeks at Hot 100. Unless a really big album bomb comes around between now and October 22nd (the expected record-breaking 91th week for "Heat Waves"), it's gonna take the record

Welcome, i accepted Heat Waves was breaking the record back when it hit number one (which was around the time i started getting into the Hot 100) and the May album bombs didn't do much to stop it.

I get the feeling Wasted On You is gonna pass 52 weeks. Mostly because it will hit 52 weeks after Taylor and Lil Baby and there probably won’t be any album bombs after them until Christmas hits. And given how it’s stable on both streaming and radio, maybe it can make it?

I dont think billboard would allow heat waves coming back after getting recurrent like they did with blinding lights this year

Yeah, with the numbers Lil Baby is doing, I would not be surprised if this still happens, just a week earlier than I expected.

I'm intrigued as well; it shouldn't affect the start weeks of anything this year, but it will be curious to see what happens towards the end of this year and the beginning of next Christmas season, since it is likely that AIWFCIY is going to have a #25 threshold instead of a #50 one after this year.

I’ve been eagerly awaiting this moment to see how they handle it! will we have new songs debuting below #50, old songs re-entering at #50 and above, and a small Elite Tier that can only re-enter at #25 and above? We actually may not see the effects of this until 2023 because AIWFCIY will already be up there by its 53rd week

When The Mariah song debuts it will be week 52, if it does not climb past 25 the following week - where does it go?

We will see

possibly won't matter as it is usually in the top 25 by week 2 anyway -- but some years - it is not

probably AIWFCIY won't be allowed to chart below 25 anymore. So most years it'll get cut from 7 weeks to 6 weeks but still hit the year end list ever time.
